Gorgeous, delicious dinner, comfortable bed, stunning garden and lovely pool for an afternoon swim.
The farmhouse is very large and incredibly spacious, yet modern, luxurious bathrooms, clean and has everything you can possibly think of. Wouter was a fantastic host and went out of his way with directions and met us at the gate. The bit of dirt road wasn't bad at all and we did it easily with an SUV and a buggy. Our little wimps loved the big lawn. It's a shame our time there was so short and I suggest you give yourself enough time to sit on the porch and watch the sun go down and I have to say, it was the best sleep we've had in years.
Sanmarie was very helpful, the farm is incredibly beautiful. The house is spacious and comfortable.

It is definitely worth detouring the few kilometers off the main road to Constantia. Although we did not meet our hostess in person, there was good communication and she answered all messages immediately and was helpful and friendly. Everything was spotless and tidy. The towels and linen are pure white and the beds are comfortable. The kitchen has more than one needs. The outdoor braai was cleaned to the farthest corner and there is a bag of wood for the braai. We had a wonderful time around the fire and under the starry sky. One immediately feels welcome with the glass pot of flowers from the garden and the coffee, tea, milk and biscuits. Everything in this house is in working order - all the lights and power plugs and locks and doors. There is a lovely farm swimming pool and even though it was cool we decided to swim - what a treat! One night is definitely not enough on this beautiful and neat farm.
We really enjoyed our stay in this large house with lovely views. Beds and bedding were wonderful. House well equipped. Good to walk and see the sheep with their lambs. Lovely area to braai and enjoy the view. Constantia Farmhouse is a wonderful halfway house between Cape Town and Johannesburg.
We were directed and led to the farm house. The house was clean and in very good repair. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Me, my 2 children and my disabled daughter's carer stayed behind on the way to the coast. There was constant communication to make sure we were okay and to confirm arrival time, good directions, just almost missed the sign at the farm gate. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay there again.

Beautiful farmhouse on a Karoo farm. Loads of space. Lots of character. Sheep and goats right outside and a lovely stoep. We had a delicious lamb pie and salads made for us and a great breakfast. Definitely recommend an overnight stop but also a weekend away.

This is now the third time we have stayed over. Unfortunately all three occasions have been for an overnight only. I would love to stay here for longer. It is such a peaceful place. The place is well kitted and extremely comfortable. It is a bit off the beaten track but that is what makes it even more special and enjoyable. The host is very friendly and accommodating. I would use this place any time.
If we didn't have to drive we could stay there for a weekend.
A great halfway stop from Pretoria to Cape Town, don't let that 25 km detour from the N1 put you off, it's worth it! The house is really big with ample space for 14 people. It's a great place for a family/friend's getaway weekend as well. The mixture between modern and farm/antique decor just adds to the farm and Karoo experience. The place is truly pet-friendly and my little dog had a blast running around! Sanmarie is an excellent host, due to changes in my schedule I couldn't arrive on the day that I booked and after a quick talk with her she was so kind to move my booking without any hesitation. Communication and directions to find the house was excellent and easy to follow.
It is impossible to describe the tranquility. Was our 2nd time there and we will definitely go again. If you're heading to the cape, don't just sleep 1 night, you'll regret it. The house has everything you could need. Can't wait to be there again. Most incredible Karoo hospitality.

My husband and I and mom + 2 Scottish terriers overnighted at the farmhouse. What a beautiful spot, everything was immaculate, huge rooms with lovely decor, well equipped kitchen and the most luxurious bed linen and mattresses for the best sleep. Sanmarie is a gracious and hospitable host and couldn't have done more for us, including the home baked bread and beskuit. Beautiful night sky and utter silence. Highly recommended.

Hospitality, fresh air, luxury and more than expected - will always stay there when I drive the N1 to the Western Cape. I would recommend everyone to sleep over there rather than in Colesberg or Beaufort West.

We had a lovely time. The house is spacious and tastefully decorated. The hostess baked a lovely farm bread for us and all arrangements were clearly communicated. The house is quite a way off the main road but worth the drive.
A hospitable welcome with warm seed bread and jam continued with the fully equipped house offering a combination of old fashioned space and modern bathrooms and kitchen in the tranquility of the Karoo. The service was excellent, thank you very much, Sanmarie! We were picked up at the gate and in the kitchen fresh bread and fig jam were waiting for us! We were 11 adults and 4 small children and fit very comfortably in all the rooms and corners. The house is modern with every comfort and more. A large enclosed garden ensured that we could let the children loose and let their hearts and energy play out! We had a wonderful walk on the farm and the children enjoyed the sheep and horses. There was more than enough cutlery to eat 2 meals without washing! But the dishwasher helped a lot! We farmed in front of the hearth! Thank you very, very much Sanmarie for a lovely home to just relax with friends and hang out and eat and hang out and eat. Constantia Plaashuis is 100% recommended by our group of friends and they will see us again!

This little gem is situated in the Karoo, Hanover, Northern Cape. Peace and tranquility on the farm. A little off N1 but well worth it to break the long trek to the Cape. Would definitely recommend. We stopped over on both legs of the journey. On request Sanmarie will provide supper at a reasonable price. Was the best Karoo Lamb Pie we've ever tasted along with sides and dessert. Won't hesitate to stop there again.

This owner thought of EVERYTHING. Luxurious, modern accommodation on a Karoo farm. You even get warm, home baked bread and jam on arrival. Wood, firelighters, milk, rusks, tea, coffee and sugar. It is an old farm house that has been revamped into a modern, luxurious house. A large house and beautiful, green grass near the braai.

You have to experience the peace and quiet of the Karoo in this equipped house. Bread on the fire, butter, jam, great surprise. Worth the drive - it is about 20 km from town.
Constantia is truly a jewel in LekkeSlaap's crown. Andries and Sanmarie Pienaar have created a place that won't only surprise you, but which meets the highest standards. A spacious, modern, neat and clean farmhouse with all amenities and more. Plus another delicious treat.
We decided to spend the night at this accommodation on our way back to Gauteng. It was a good choice, especially the air conditioning in the one bedroom helped a lot to dispel the severe summer heat. Maybe a good idea to also have air conditioning in one more bedroom. The only drawback is the 5.5 km stretch of dirt road to the farm. The hostess left us delicious dinner and breakfast in the fridge.
Beautiful farmhouse but very isolated location. We were afraid to sleep as there was no alarm activated - burglar gate not working and no cell phone signal unless we walked to the windmill which was a bit of a distance away. Perhaps would have been better had we travelled with more people.
Very warm reception and we felt at home. I recommend getting a generator. Power outage because of heavy rains and we couldn't prepare food.
Constantia was fantasties. Pragtige huis en plaas en baie goed toegerus. Mooiste badkamers en kombuis. Ons het by Sanmarie aandete bestel en die kos was fenominaal! Die kinders het tot ná donker op die grasperk baljaar. Die enigste nadeel was dat ons net een nag oor gebly het. Volgende keer sal ek definitief twee aande bespreek om een dag net op die stoep te kuier en die rustigheid in te drink.
Our family (with 2 dachshunds) was traveling from Cape Town to Pretoria for the December holidays. The service was fantastic and the roast cake treat a winner. The house is beautiful and fully equipped. There was wood, milk, farm butter and jam. The tranquility of the surroundings was just what we needed after a day's long journey.

The hospitality was overwhelming. We were spoiled with two pancakes each, delicious farm fig jam and butter. There was plenty of milk, coffee, tea, sugar or any hot drink we could desire. I would like to say a big thank you to our hostess. At first we were a little worried about venturing onto the dirt road in the dark with our city car, but it was worth it over and over again! The next morning we wake up to birdsong and sheep bleating peacefully. Delicious! It's exactly halfway between Johannesburg and Cape Town which makes it the ideal destination for a family reunion with the Johannesburgers as the house has fourteen 5 star beds. Als was beautifully clean and tidy and stocked with coals, wood or any form of cooking you could desire. A pleasant very comfortable farm experience. Many thanks to our hostess for expressing your love for your fellow man in this way!
Sanmarie literally went out of her way to meet us along the way and accompany us to the accommodation. The house is beautiful, spacious, clean and very tidy. The creaking of the wooden floors is all you hear in the house. The farm's tranquility and natural beauty make you relax immediately. We had a great time playing with our 4-year-old boy in the sprinkler on the grass! Will definitely stay overnight here on our way! Thank you very much for the hospitality.
