I would definitely recommend Convent Hill Lodge as an overnight stop-over in Ladysmith. We were warmly welcomed by a very friendly host Vari; who took great care of us. Rooms were clean, neat and spacious. Breakfast was a delicious start to get us started on the next leg of our journey. 5 Stars all the way.
The management and staff were very helpful and friendly, and provided excellent service despite the Power Station blowing up and leaving the entire town without power, and in many cases without water, for several days. I would definitely recommend this Lodge to future guests.
The most amazingly restored Oregon Pine floors and many historical antiques decorate this guest house! Reception was friendly and efficient. The dinner we requested at rather short notice, was very tasty and filling. The breakfast was also really good. We got a good night's rest to continue our journey for the next day. An absolute gem of a stop in Ladysmith.

Everything went well. It will help if guests in the main house are informed in advance about the badgers that scramble in the ceiling at night, otherwise it can create uncertainty in the middle of the night.
We found it very easy. The lady kept in touch with us to make sure we knew where we were going.

Well run in an old Ladysmith house with plenty of character. The manager was very good about following up on my arrival time and gave lots of good advice as where to eat. My room was huge with a massive on suite bathroom with bath and shower. Lots of braai area and a pool for guests. Even though there were many guests from the military and other organisations the place was very quiet. Adequate safe parking. I was impressed as to how they remembered all the guests breakfast orders and the breakfast was very nice.
Elmarie and team were very friendly. Guesthouse was very comfortable. Very nice old house.
Room was clean but shower water kept cutting off then you would wait a few seconds for it to return.

Baie lekker. Net dat ek betaal het, kwitansie en e-mail gekry het dat als reg is met my verblyf. En toe ek daar aankom, ken en weet niemand van my nie. En vertrou my toe ook nie dat ek wel betaal het nie. Veder was alles great.

Food was very nice. Friendly reception and service. Clean and tidy guest house.
Staff went out of their way. Upon our arrival there was a cot in the room to accommodate our baby. We forgot a bag in the room when we checked out, they contacted us as soon as possible and we were able to turn back to pick it up.

Neat, safe area. Room comfortable but bed very uncomfortable. Better bedding would also help. Breakfast was delicious.
We got there on Thursday evening, received a friendly welcome and checked in. After a great night's rest, enjoy the most delicious breakfast in a homely, cozy atmosphere. Will definitely stay there again.

Marietjie specially came in on Sunday afternoon at 17:00 to receive us. Rooms were neat and clean. Price was reasonable in comparison to other lodes in Northern Natal.
