Cooks Cottage sleeps up to 4 adults in 2 double bedrooms, and 2 children in a Tin Tin-inspired bunk room. The cottage has a covered verandah with outdoor eating and a braai area leading out to a shady side garden, as well as a private, courtyard garden to the front, with 3m by 3m plunge pool and lovely views back onto the mountains. Inside, Cook’s Cottage’s well-equipped kitchen, dining room, wood-fire warmed sitting room and upstairs pyjama lounge offer warmth, relaxation and a real ‘welcome home’ feeling.
Downstairs are 2 bedrooms; a double bedroom and a bunk room for children, with a shared bathroom consisting of a toilet and shower. The main bedroom with king-size bed is upstairs and has an open-plan bathroom with a large free-standing bath hidden behind a half-wall, with views out of a large window. Off the main bedroom is an en-suite toilet and a separate shower and basin area. Upstairs is also home to a cosy pyjama lounge, equipped with TV, DVD and a collection of adult and child-friendly DVDs, a great place for children to hang out.
Cook’s Cottage makes self-catering a breeze in its open-plan living, kitchen and dining area, hence its name ‘Cooks’. The modern, well-equipped kitchen and island with bar seating for 3, have a gas hob, electric oven and Le Creuset cookware, all overlooking a separate dining table and chairs with seating for 6, providing ample room and a relaxed atmosphere for all occasions.
The 3, ‘flop-into’ sofas in the main living area are nestled around a wood-burning Morso fireplace with an overhanging flat-screen TV, DStv and surround-sound, sound system, making this a very cosy area to relax in the winter, or in summer with the door open to the plunge pool in the front-courtyard garden and pool loungers.
From the kitchen and dining room, French doors open onto a side-verandah with a table and chairs for 6, as well as a large daybed and a Weber braai for alfresco diners. All the windows and doors have American shutters, so in the heat of summer you can sleep with doors open, letting the breeze cool you off. And for those sunny summer days when you just want to kick back, the front courtyard garden offers sun loungers on a deck.

3 guests' feedbackWe thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the house had everything we needed and more! We arrived just after 7, with the house already warmed up for us! They provided us with wood for a fire, hot water bottles and electric blankets for those cold nights. A lovely book with recommendations on where to go was incredibly welcomed and followed!
Lovely cottage and within walking distance to town.
We all felt at home, from the decor to the tea and accessories fell to our taste. And unlike some guesthouses there was a sufficient supply of toilet paper! On top of that, the place is centrally located, within walking distance of the town centre.
