I recently discovered this hidden gem, Cornerhouse on Conan, and stayed there for a month. It is conveniently located but off the main road, so it is peaceful and relaxing. The gardens are well maintained and beautiful. The guesthouse is clean and spacious, with a separate kitchen. It has everything you need and is kept spotlessly clean. Also, it is very well priced for what you receive. I would definitely recommend this guesthouse and will stay here again.

The building is very well maintained and presents neatly from the street. The cleaning/kitchen staff were great. Very good breakfast. One always felt very safe. The room was well furnished, except that there was no bread knife/stove plates in the self-catering unit. Good WiFi reception passages. A big plus is that there was power available all the time. TV channels are very limited. That's why we hardly ever watched TV. Communication was difficult, there is no site manager. Gate intercom, cell phone and WA were not answered on arrival. I had to communicate by email. Misunderstanding during our reception that made us wait outside for 20 minutes (a guest opened for us). Even cleaning ladies did not know that we would come in that day, but at least took us to our unit immediately. A good thing is that at least they apologized for it and also gave us a discount of R900 on the breakfasts to make up. It was appreciated. I'm just disappointed when I booked I specifically asked if they would deliver champagne and roses to my wife on her birthday for a fee. They agreed. One of the big reasons I booked with them. I reminded them again the day before her birthday (via email), but it was never done (or apologized for). As I say communication was not very good. Their reason for no site manager is because they are self catering units, but a site manager would have greatly improved communication and also ensured that we didn't have to wait outside for 20 minutes on our arrival. I believe the roses/champagne wouldn't be a problem either if there was a site manager. Otherwise we can't complain. Towels were changed fresh and clean every day, barbeque always nicely cleaned and unit always tidy. The shower always had hot water immediately and a very strong water pressure that you don't always get at guesthouses and lodges like this. If communication improves this would be a great place to stay.
We had a comfortable stay and would happily recommend Cornerhouse and stay there again when we have to go to Pretoria. It would be nice if there was DStv available.

Conerhouse on Conan exceeded my expectation. I can highly recommend Cornerhouse to anyone who uses a wheelchair. Clean, tidy, spacious and specially equipped for a wheelchair. If I have to spend the night in Pretoria, it will be at Cornerhouse on Conan!
Was received very hospitably. The rooms are extremely neat and very well equipped and breakfast was top notch! Will definitely use the accommodation again. Guesthouse is also very safe with secure parking.
Just think they could replace their towels as they are very old.
