Needed a weekend getaway with a family member, the room was exactly what we needed to just sit around and chat, as well as have freedom to come and go as we pleased.

Yes very much, we were moved from a cheap unit to a more expensive unit because the TV was not working well.
First room we stayed in did not have hot water at the sink in the bathroom. The second room we stayed in had no hot water when we got there. Coffee cups are very small. Parking space is very small for large vehicles.
Very bad experience. Checked in, went to eat and immediately checked out again. It was dirty, the bathroom looked very poor. Do not recommend at all.
For one night, all you want is a bathroom and a bed. Neat, clean.

All that is short is the shower's water pressure is not very strong and if it is "Loadshedding" there is a light flickering in the room where you sleep.

Place neat and clean. Not enough towels for 3 people as well as cutlery. Bed uncomfortable and makes noise when you turn over.
There were no curtains in front of the windows in the kitchen or in front of the front door facing the single bed. So anyone standing outside can see into the room. The blankets had holes in them. The bedding was slightly stained and moldy in parts. The double bed itself was very comfortable and so were the pillows. The third bed is more suitable for small children and not for older persons. The hot water pipe in the bathroom is not connected to the sink, so if you are looking for hot water, it is either in the kitchen sink or in the shower. No one welcomed us and showed us where we slept. We only got hold of someone 30 minutes later to explain to us over the phone where we were sleeping. Provision was also only made for 2 people. We had to go shopping to accommodate the third person.

To begin with, front view of rooms is not at all like in the photos, there are no photos of the bathroom which makes it very difficult to determine standard. The TV has no reception, there is 1, but cannot be used. Bathroom's rose cement floor is not nice at all without any mats, very unsafe if you are wet in the shower, (we couldn't shower at all, not a drop of water from the shower head). Our friend in the 2nd cottage's water sprayed the entire bathroom. The sink didn't have a plug. Bed is very low to floor.
There was food in the fridge and the fridge was dirty. My 2nd bad experience with the website, will not book through you again.
No mat in the toilet and no bath towels.

Suffering from a neck operation and found parking facilities difficult to maneuver my vehicle, however, the host was most helpful in assisting me by positioning my vehicle so I had no problem exiting the property.

We had a pleasant stay, the bed was firm, and the place was clean. It's a small unit, but it's perfect for a place to sleep only.
The mattress was done and I reported it and asked for an exchange, they didn't do it. No DStv as advertised. TV connection was poor, hardly watched any TV. WiFi connection was poor, all the time interruptions. No braai facilities, only at the owner's part of the yard. I will not stay there again.
The place looks different from pictures advertised here. Shower/bathroom setup is a problem because water spills everywhere when you shower. Netflix keeps buffering.

There had been no extra blanket and it was quite cold. The shower outlet was blocked, and we were to blame. Which was nice, they had My Family Cinema where we could at least watch good films.

There is no information board indicating the position. The view in the photos is not the same as the actual place. At least I would like to be invited in at the front door rather than the back door (back gate). There was very limited parking and other guests had to move their vehicles (in their pajamas) so we could go out.
Room was a lot smaller than what the photos indicated. Struggled to get hold of the owner upon arrival. Bed was uncomfortable and squeaked. WiFi was incredibly slow and Netflix did not work properly. Not great value for money overall.
We were moved to another guesthouse and the entire weekend was a disaster. Very disappointed.

Received a very warm welcome. Staff were friendly and helpful. Clean and neat. Will recommend anyone to stay there.
Equipped with the essentials. Couldn't connect WiFi and TV didn't work. Only have 2 movies on it. So place ideal just for sleeping.
3 ladies, we assume other guests, were making noise until 3am in the morning, even in front of our unit and I had to silence them myself. We got almost no sleep. TV didn't work, kept showing "no signal" on picture. Bed is uncomfortable and the base looks like it was cobbled together in the backyard. The breakfast is nothing to write home about. The two staff members we dealt with were friendly at least.
The Studio room may be good for a single person arriving at 06:00 in the morning and arriving at 23:00 in the evening. Definitely not for a couple. Bed, toilet, shower and kitchen all in one room.
Will not use the place again. The owner wasn't very hospitable, couldn't wait to go out with his family. The outside door of my room couldn't even close. The place is and looks cheap for what you pay. Very poor.

I have to give Cottage Guesthouse a thumbs up. The room was very nice and clean and everything is there that one could need, although the room had sleeping space for 3 people, there were only two of everything, but for us it was not a problem. We were out early and didn't come back until late. Our stay was really value for money. If we come back to Pretoria we will definitely consider Cottage again. Well done.

The shower doesn't drain properly and the picture of the bathroom on the website doesn't look like it looks in reality. On the last day, the room wasn't cleaned or serviced.
The units shown to us were definitely much weaker than those on the website. We did not get what we paid for. He said he saw us a close family and that he had 47 residential units. He wanted to give us something better. The other place does not belong to him, but to other people. I will not recommend him at all. We only realized later that the units he showed us were not what we paid for. If I knew how the places look, I'd never book there.
Poor service and room was small. Had to ask for clean towels, clean cups and mugs. Parking very small. I will not stay there again.
