The house comprises 3 bedrooms and a loft room. The first bedroom is furnished with a queen-size bed and has an full en-suite bathroom. The second bedroom is furnished with twin beds and the third bedroom is furnished with a double bed with a separate shared bathroom fitted with a shower. The loft room upstairs is furnished with 4 single beds. Shower gel, facial wipes, hand lotion and liquid hand soap are provided and all towels are soft bath sheets.
There is an open plan living area with a kitchen fully equipped with an electric stove and oven, microwave, fridge-freezer and dishwasher as well as a single gas cooker to boil the kettle during loadshedding. Ice, tea, coffee, sugar and sweetener are provided. The lounge area has a large fireplace for cooler evenings and wood, firelighters and matches are provided for the first night.
Step outside the French doors onto the enclosed deck with built-in braai, Weber and Gas braai with stove plate for loadshedding and soak up the stunning views of the hills and Wetland. Briquettes are provided.
There are board games, puzzles and activities to keep the little ones busy, books and magazines, and a pair of binoculars to catch the Crowned Cranes in flight.
While there is no Wi-Fi yet, guests are welcome to use the Wi-Fi in the gardens at the property next door. Tables, chairs and umbrellas are provided as well as access to an electrical point. Guests are welcome to bring their dogs as long as they are socialised. There is plenty of land for them to run and play.

It was a lovely stay and the cottage is incredibly well equipped. The bonus is Emma's delicious frozen food that you can buy at extremely reasonable prices. Forget cooking - just heat and eat Emma food! And bird watching lovers. Make the effort and book via Birdlife SA's local office. He is excellent.
We were 8 friends who went on an adventure motorcycle tour. We made Crowned Crane View our 'Base Camp'. The host, Emma, and her husband are certainly one of the friendliest and most accommodating hosts I have ever met. They went out of their way to make an effort for us and make our time there just easier. I can recommend it 120%. Thank you very much, Emma. You'll see us again one day!

Very well equipped, we lacked for nothing. The option of frozen food was a plus, especially if you don't fancy cooking yourself. And the yard was big enough for our Pointer to thoroughly enjoy himself! Will definitely go back again.

It was our second stay there and we really enjoyed the house. It is spacious and has a lovely view, and it is well-equipped. The enclosed stoep is brilliant, and the fireplaces work well. They also have WiFi now, which is great. Our one gripe is that it is not super clean and that it needs some maintenance. It could do with some new clean dishcloths, the stove and oven really need a good clean, the curtain rail in the main bedroom is falling down, and there is a blocked drain in the main shower.

We had a lovely 2-night stopover at Crowned Crane View. It was absolutely freezing the evening we arrived, and we were very happy to see the electric blankets on the beds! The wind seemed to suck all the heat straight up and out of the fireplace for our first night. Luckily it wasn't so windy on our second night, so we could enjoy the fireplace more. The house is well-equipped and has a beautiful view. The enclosed patio was lovely and warm in the afternoon sun. Our host was very helpful and came out to assist us when we had a small issue in the early evening. My 7-year-old daughter loved the few toys and books that were available! We would stay over in this home again!
Delicious! The house is central enough to be able to reach the whole town on foot. Everything you could possibly need is available. There is a cozy meeting place and neat bedrooms and bathrooms. Moreover, the owner is friendly and helpful. We will definitely inquire here again when we visit Wakkerstroom.

We absolutely adored our stay. From the little extras like proper filter coffee and cookies, the cosy fireplace, a well equipped kitchen and a stoep with the most spectacular views. We took our own feather duvet for the cold but found electric blankets on the upstairs bed. Highly recommend this gem!

A beautiful place to stay with the most beautiful view. Everything was nice and comfortable and the hostess was very friendly.
Our stay was phenomenal, barring the weather. The cottage has been kept in great condition and was very comfortable and homey. (Safety) - the lock and chain for the gate could use an upgrade as it is not stopping anyone and can easily be broken. The cottage could use a carport, as mentioned above the weather was not great and we were concerned for our vehicles as there is no cover available.
Emma kept us well informed about the property and advice on where in town to watch rugby. Overall, the house is pleasant and comfortable, but cleaning needs some attention. Refrigerator was not clean. Outside barbecue and Weber grills were dirty. Extra blanket in one of the rooms has dirty brown marks on it.
I booked this accommodation for members of the bird club but could not go myself as I was in Abu Dhabi. Feedback from the members who stayed was extremely good.

Amazing view of the wetland, free from city noise, spacious, well equipped house. We had a wonderful stay, despite a tremendous storm and load shedding that caught us off guard. Will definitely come again. Crowned Crane View has become our new favorite place on Wakkerstroom!
