Bai each stayed. I would have liked just a little more space for my clothes. The closet was full of additional duvets etc., which is understandable, but it takes up storage space for clothes. I didn't ask, but next time I would like a small table in my apartment.

Crowned Crane B&B is a neat and clean place where you can sleep comfortably. It's just the little attention to smaller details that bothers, like e.g. to ensure that you know when guests will leave and then to ensure that the parking is arranged in such a way as to prevent those who leave early from being able to do so and those who want to sleep later are not bothered. We arrived in the rain on a motorcycle soaking wet and it would have been nice if someone had asked if we needed anything.

We had a nice stay, however, parking is limited within the premises and some guests had to park outside which the guesthouse says is safe, but I'm not comfortable with that.

Firstly, we were under the impression that we can heat our own food in our own room as was the case with our previous B&B facilities because we visit B&B establishments often, so it makes the meals uncomfortable because we have to arrange for restaurant facilities to be opened for us to use it because it was always closed or we always had to go out to eat which was a bit disadvantageous for us because it was not part of our budget/planning. Secondly, we were under the impression that breakfast was included in the price because it is advertised as a B&B. This was not the case after our first day's inquiry and we were informed we did not choose it. Now question is where should we have chosen it if we should have done it at booking? Don't know whose problem it is, but it should be clearly reported that breakfast is additional or an option should be given at reservation and booking so that travelers are clearly informed of options. This caught us completely off guard and we then had to exceed our budgets for vacation due to ambiguity. So, all our meals were based on budget due to limited amenities. We have not made much of an issue, but want to inform and will from now on make all the inquiries before we discuss again. Otherwise, everything was in place and service delivery was up to standard during holidays such as Christmas and the day after when no services were provided, we were informed to inquire if clean towels, etc. should be given to us or not.

The rooms may not be as big as they look on the picture; for us it was enough, but with children it would have been very small. The unit is self-catering and the equipment is good and neat. Just look at the place to eat your food, the two bar stools are really two torture prongs and we avoided them as far we could. Seating at the counter is very limited. On the veranda is a miniature table and two chairs. Two people can't put their plates on the table together. Maybe they can replace the miniature tables with more appropriate tables. Each room has a micro-braai - one cannot be heightened; we could braai, but for the price one would expect something more. Visitors may have to think about bringing their own inventory - the local Spar prices are excessive - we don't even pay so much tax in the Free State countryside! For the price they sell wine at, I can buy almost two wine farms. There aren't really eating places where one can eat in the evening. In spite of everything, we had a nice stay.

Everything beautiful and neat, was very kindly received and everything was pointed out. I can only complain about the one single bed that creaked terribly throughout the night which was a major disturbance at night.

We had a very nice stay. All we were worried about the first night was the fact that our car had to sleep outside the gate and my husband got up every now and then throughout the night to make sure it was still there. The second night we could at least park inside and sleep peacefully. Unfortunately, the inside parking is on a "first come" system so if you go out and come back a little late, your car stays outside.

I had a nice stay in Crowned Crane, but compared to other places it's not really value for money. I was in the single room with a bathroom across the hall. I was not happy when I returned to find my room door open. The cleaners cleaned nicely but did not re-lock my room. And the room is right next to the office, so it's very busy there.

There is nothing wrong with the accommodation, but I would prefer to see the sea in the evening when you sit outside. The guests next to our car's back window were knocked out the night before and everything in the car was stolen.

A neat establishment with friendly staff/management who were very helpful. However, the bathrooms have an unpleasant aroma that should be rectified, and the shower floors are very slippery with no grab bars for the elderly and infirm to stabilize them. I suggest that non-slip mats or something similar be made available and that grab bars be installed in showers.

Crowned Crane is located in a very good area, the ideal base from which to explore the area. Exquisite accommodation, pleasant staff and delicious breakfast. We only booked for one night and for that the "bugdet room" was completely sufficient. For a longer stay, we would certainly have taken up the well-equipped self-catering accommodation.
