If you order a meal you must commit to a time and woe betide you if you show up 15 minutes late. For the price the meals are rather flat.

If, like us from Gauteng, you want to reach the northern part of the Kruger National Park, use Cuckoo's Nest for overnight stay. It's conveniently located near Louis Trichardt (less than 10 minutes) and its impressive garden creates the image of an oasis. Priscilla was very helpful and owner Mark Kirk-Cohen recommended we drive on the N1 to enter the R525 at Pafuri Gate, rather than R524 through Thohoyandou to Punda Maria. He has an interesting wine cellar on the veranda. Our neat room in the annex, right next door, was new and beautifully appointed. Nomsa made an effort with dinner (book in advance) and the breakfast was perfect. We will stay here again.
