We realize that this is an older guest house, so there are things that one overlooks, as everything was clean and tidy. It would be a good idea to put only water in the fridge for the guests and some milk for coffee would be much appreciated. Not everyone drinks or likes Cremora nor is there enough Cremora in the container to drink at least one decent cup of coffee. The staff were friendly and we felt safe. The breakfast is not up to standard at all. We waited an awful long time and then got cold food. The breakfast tables were also not clean and were not properly covered.
We had a great time. We were received kindly and were well helped. After we realized our room was dirty (only the sink was dirty, not the room itself) they moved us to another room. My parents were together and they also moved my parents so they are next to us. The breakfast was very nice and a lot of food. The people at the bar were very friendly and helped us a lot.
Bathroom nice. Room dark. Light blanket would have been welcome. Access to room via dining room can be inconvenient.

Our bathtub was not washed at all. There were still rose petals in our bed from previous guests. When we got there we asked what time the restaurant and room service close. Their 20h00. When we wanted to order coffee at 19h00 they were already there. We were supposed to stay 2 days but after 20 hours we left. Most of the furniture was dirty and broken. The staff stand at reception and visit without helping clients.
I requested that my breakfast on Saturday morning please. half past 7 should be right as we had to leave for Pretoria for the day at 7 o'clock. Everything was ready and I was on time. I might just make a few suggestions for the lodge. I would like to see a fire plan in the rooms in case of an emergency. I would also like leaflets in the rooms with what is available at the lodge, pictures of the place, what is available in town and where. If you are a stranger in a town then you struggle quite a bit. I know everyone can Google but I would love to take home flyers to show my family and keep as a souvenir. Other than that, no complaints. I can really recommend the Diamond Lodge and congratulate the setting and staff.
Great service, everything was as they said. We will visit there again. One problem: When we wanted to drive, they said we still owed them the outstanding amount. Fortunately, I gathered your statement, to prove that we paid all the money.
It's a neat, comfortable room with everything one would need for an overnight stay.
Good accommodation and location. Could do with a bit more information being passed on to the guests about what they have to offer and when the food/beverage area closes for the evening, especially with restrictions so that one can order food or buy water early enough. Furthermore, the service was good and the room itself very comfortable. We also stayed an extra day to explore the area more. Will definitely be back.

The Lodge is in Cullinan, the heartland of the mining industry as far as diamonds are concerned. Then also an address for artists, entrepreneurs and a must visit for thirsty drinkers and usually a tasty dining experience is guaranteed.
Parking your car within the premises was very convenient and the lodge was close to where we wanted to go. The staff were a little unfriendly, but they were very accommodating when we requested an earlier check in. All in all, a good stay.
Room was clean, although I would have expected at least some soap to wash my hands. There is a sign asking one to use a brown cloth to remove makeup. No brown cloth was provided, and also I'm not sure of how hygienic said cloth would be. I would have expected at least some complimentary coffee and tea, none of which was provided. Breakfast was reasonable, although it took ages until it was finally served.
When we went to take a shower on Thursday night before 9, there was almost no water pressure in the shower. It was difficult to rinse off the soap, washing her hair would be a disaster. We called the office and someone came to check, I don't think the problem can be fixed overnight. They wanted to move us to another room. Who wants to take up that time again! It had to be ready before guests arrived.
Place is neat, but we were there on a weekend with a bike race and we and many other guests had to wait more than 2 hours for food, go to town instead.
I don't like to give bad reviews about a place but Cullinan Diamond Lodge is not up to standard. The gardens and grounds are very neat but that's all positive. Our TV's remote was not in our room. They could not locate or replace him. The guests behind us made noise to their heart's content all night. The morning when we wanted to shower at 07:30 the hot water was out. During breakfast, the bartender was also the waiter. He couldn't even manage a simple breakfast order for 4. The music from the pub on a Sunday morning was so loud that we couldn't hear each other. I'd rather stay at the hotel across the street next time.
No breakfast facilities at buffet, no menu to suggest what is available. Dirty tables, no knives and forks. Toilet in room does not flush.

I would like to make a special mention of the young man that was working in the bar/ restaurant on Thursday night- his service was excellent and his manner wonderful & friendly. Great to have such good service in such a happy manner. Compliments to the man working at reception who was helpful & friendly. Jobs well done.

Breakfast was English but in the morning when we had to go for breakfast the worker just shrugged his shoulders and said the chef did not show up and he is not a chef, we expect a refund of the breakfast money please. Thank you.
Reception could be more receptive and chatty. I had to ask questions to get information that is usually given as a matter of course by reception. Other than that, the staff are friendly and helpful. The food is delicious. Ideal to break away from the city and rest if you can't get away for long.
Stay was excellent. Just had a little problem with water, but there is a crisis in the whole area with water. The problem was fixed immediately. Staff were very friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. Will definitely use them again.

Cute, clean rooms, we only stayed overnight for a wedding. Unit 1, where we slept, had a constant drip of air conditioning. Rooms are small with a large comfortable king size bed. Service at breakfast was slow, but when we finally received it it was a nice English breakfast.
It was very pleasant, although I think the breakfast is not up to standard. Please also make make sure your air conditioning is working, it was terribly hot and little sleep. On a positive note it is a very nice place and comfortable.
The lodge's staff were very helpful and friendly - the furniture, curtains and bedding are very old and the TV didn't work at all (and was very small). When I checked out there was no one at reception, and I even walked and looked for someone - then left my bar bill money (and extra) on the counter with my keys, because I couldn't wait any longer. I don't think I would stay there again as there are quite a few other places that are cheaper and more modern.

Pleasant stay. Neat and clean. Only negative experience is the shower. Water sprays in such small, fine jets that showering is a nightmare. Please replace your shower heads in no. 5 and 6.
Staff were not overly friendly, but helpful. Room lock required a different key to lock from the inside which the night watchman had to locate as it was not on the keys. Breakfast offered only the basic options and the bowls were not refilled when empty. No hairdryer in the room. Room was neat and facilities are in good condition. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was very tidy and clean, but the room felt just distressed and felt "closed", probably because there aren't any windows that could open, thank goodness there was air con. They really can do something about the TV situation, it's so small you can hardly see it, and there's only TV 1, 2 and 3 that had very poor reception, there was 1 channel where something was at least visible.

This lodge is situated at the edge of town. Clean and garden well maintained. Staff was friendly. Beds was firm and linen clean. Only basic TV channels - only 1 extra channel expect normal SABC channels. This is not what I expected for a 4 star lodge though. Restaurants was very slow (there were only 2 tables) but food was alright and you don't have to leave the grounds to eat - but Spar is just across the street if you want to. Cullinan is a beautiful clean town which really surprised me. Roads are well maintained and people were very pleasant.
Stayed overnight to attend a wedding in the area. It was fine in that respect and we had to drive early the next morning and unfortunately could not have breakfast. The factory/mine's drilling may be disturbing to certain people.
Reception staff inexperienced and untidy. Staff need more guidance and training. Snacks in bar not up to standard. Customers had to provide their own drinks. Breakfast was disappointing, not enough food prepared for amount of guests. Knives and forks not available. Food came out of the kitchen cold. Dining room facilities not up to expectations.
First, the discussion was flawed. Finally sorted out. Then the air rail in one of the rooms did not work. AFTER the 5th person was asked we got a fan. In another room, the toilet did not flush and the shower leaked badly. The breakfast was poor. Everything was cold. No choice for scrambled eggs or pastries. Was cold anyway!

When Dennis from Diamond Lodge answered my question about whether the Lodge had neat accommodation with: "Very nice, you will see when you get here" I trusted him and we were not disappointed at all. The misunderstanding that did arise during our stay was dealt with and sorted out quickly, friendly and professionally. We would love to stay there again. I have to admit I'm quite picky about cleanliness and comfort and they exceeded all expectations. Delicious food and very comfortable accommodation.

Such an amazing place, the gardens, rooms and everything in general is excellently done. We went for my birthday weekend and they made it extra special. Even though we only had breakfast, it was fantastic. The only concern was that the restaurant staff sat in the designated smoking area in stead of helping us, so we had to call them in order to receive service. Other than that, we loved the lodge. Safe parking spaces, beautiful gardens, surrounding areas are quiet and the perfect place to spend if you want quality family time.

The place was beautiful and comfortable. Smell of stale smoke in the room and the shower door doesn't close properly (water all over the floor). The bed was wonderful and comfortable perfect for any woman. Great place, will visit again.
Room a little too small. Aircon didn't work too well, especially in summer. Premises very clean with ample garden seating, beautiful trees and green grass. Was able to relax on the veranda in the evenings. Very peaceful.
Facilities neat and clean and reception friendly. Unfortunately the air-conditioning in our room didn't work, and there was no sugar in the room for our morning coffee. The biggest disappointment was the fact that breakfast was an hour late, without any communication about when it would be ready.
Sufficient accommodation for a night or two. We did experience the following issues: A deep golf ball sized dent in the wall above the bed (looks bad for cleanliness). Someone started sweeping the porches in front of our room very loudly at 06:30 in the morning. We and the guests next to us were woken up by the noise. There was no nearby parking or easy access to our room. As a result, we had to run all the way from behind the guest house to get to the room in the evening in torrential rain. We were drenched in rain. One cannot walk through the guest house from the parking lot in the evening. Other than that, the stay was quite adequate.
The room's maintenance leaves much to be desired. There was a hole in the bathroom ceiling. The curtain hood at the front door was broken. The tap at the sink is completely loose. We did not receive the remote control for the TV or air conditioner. There is no information book in the room. No table or chair in the room to sit at or work. No carpeting on the bare wooden floor.
Rooms need a revamp, water pressure poor and the breakfast could improve.
Last minute decided to go to Cullinan, got the accommodation on LekkeSlaap, only booked for one night. After we arrived, we just stayed another night. It's a beautiful clean lodge with everything you need. We are not really TV watchers, but it might improve with 2-3 DStv channels. Yvonne at reception was amazing, we were very early and checked in with no problem or a word. Ate at the lodge first night, food and service was really WAY more than we expected and delicious. Restaurant lighting in the evening might be a little darker. Breakfast was basic but more than enough and very tasty. Next day was very cold and wet and the hearth was already deliciously warm when we went for breakfast, also later in the evening after we came back from dinner in town.
Room 17's door is almost impossible to lock. The mobile phone is not connected to the receptionist's phone, so when you return from a wedding and the receptionist is working in the bar area, not a soul can hear the reception phone. I had to climb over the nearly 8 foot gate with my nice shoes and walk Lukas out of the bar so he could open for us.
It was a very special guest house. The service was excellent. I would definitely stay there again.
We stayed at the Cullinan Diamond lodge for a wedding weekend. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and the facilities were extremely clean and neat. The town of Cullinan is also great and a wonderful weekend was had by the whole wedding party. There was a baby in the room next to ours that cried the entire night for both nights - so that was a minor issue, but this is something that was out of the hands of the staff.
Although the rooms are a bit small, we had a very comfortable stay. The breakfast was delicious and the service was excellent. Thank you very much!

From arrival to the end of our stay we were satisfied with the service we received. It was easy to find the Lodge, the staff were friendly and helpful. The Lodge is within walking distance of everything and you feel safe at all times. One can get lost in their garden and stare at all the flowers for hours. The rooms are nicely laid out and it's comfortable to stay in, the only bad thing is you hear the guests in the other rooms. I would definitely recommend them for a peaceful break away from the busy city life.

I enjoyed my stay. The place was neat and tidy, the room was comfortable and the outlay was convenient. Breakfast was alright in total but the eggs were not great. Recommendation to cook them more as they were very very soft. Otherwise I'm super happy!

It was a bit busy on the opposite side of the road, but that's not something that is within the lodge's control.
Pleasant overnight stay, great room, nice breakfast. After travelling to Cullinan on the FoTR train it was the perfect B&B for the night. We had a good stay with only one shortcoming - we had to go looking for security to exit the hotel area at 05:30 - hotel was aware that the FoTR train was at the station for photographers.
Rooms are very nice and clean. Security guard available all evening. Very friendly, helpful and professional. I would definitely recommend them.

Thanks to Sonnyboy who made our stay so much better by going out of his way to make sure we got dinner on Saturday night. They forgot to let us know that the power was out and they couldn't help us with that. Our power (wall plugs) was down in the room from the afternoon and wasn't sorted until the next morning, but otherwise the service was great.
Beautiful place but the maintenance of rooms falls far short. The breakfast is not 4-star standard, but sufficient. For example, there is no yogurt or fruit juice. It is a beautiful place with a lovely garden and, at first glance, comfortable rooms. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Unfortunately no one took us to our room. The keys were handed to us and on a security camera screen we were shown where the parking and rooms were. Before we went out for our planned meal at another place we went to inform reception that there was no kettle in our room and that the plug from the bedside lamp did not fit into the wall plug. I tried removing the connector plug and tried a connector plug of a different type of plug, but the whole thing pulled out of the wall. When we returned to our room the kettle was there and the lamp was working but the room was like a steam room even though the air conditioning was set to 21 degrees - it clearly wasn't working. So at 9.30pm we were moved to another room where the air conditioning did work. This time there was a kettle but no coffee. Half of the shower head's holes were blocked and the water sprayed more against the wall than in the shower. The toilet paper holder was also broken. The original design and decoration appeared to be of a high standard, but there is clearly no good management or maintenance. There was also no hair dryer in the rooms - I guess they are 4 star then? Breakfast was also good but not 4 star standard.
It was quite comfortable. I was impressed with the service of staff. The room was a little smaller than I expected, but contained all necessary amenities. I would definitely stay there again.

The Lodge is tidy with beautiful gardens. Staff is very friendly. I would like a TV in the room and a towel rail in the bathroom. I really liked the porches in front of the rooms.
Only query was that we went to a wedding at Destiny Lodge down the road and only got back to Diamond at 02:45 in the morning. We were told that a 24hr security guard would be on duty to open the gate and let us back in. After buzzing and waiting we eventually had to phone for someone to let us back in. We only got in after 3am. Other then that, lovely!

This is my second stay at the lodge and its great - with two small exceptions. There was no soap, shampoo etc in the bathroom - I am sure this was an over sight. Their packed breakfasts are not worth even considering. Could they not consider something like - fruit juice, muffins, fruit, cheese, cold meats etc. Last year cold fried chips were in the box and dry bread - this year I believe it was even worse.
The hotel offers comfortable rooms with good outdoor seating areas. The staff were very helpful in arranging other visits to local areas of interest and even prepared a special breakfast for my husband's birthday. The security of the hotel was very good with plenty of parking. It is located in easy walking distance of the Cullin village for restaurants and shopping.
We were treated very well. Could not ask for a better overnight stay. Well done to all staff.
The venue was lovely and the staff were very helpful. My only concern was the DSTV coverage was very poor and the rooms were not up to 4-star quality that I'm used to. Other than that, the breakfasts and suppers were awesome (just a suggestion: make a small menu for the table detailing what's available to the guests) and the overall package was good.
We had a nice stay, but their website is not up to date. We understood that all the rooms had fridges, but this was not the case.
The hum of the mine's ventilation motors was audible, but it didn't bother us when we wanted to sleep.
We had a wonderful time, minor hiccups were sorted speedily and management was very very accommodating and helpful. Staff are very friendly! Stayed for Sunday Lunch - yummeeee! They have really gone out their way to make the Lodge beautiful with their furnishings and the garden. Lovely!!!
