The road to the lodge is not suitable for vehicles with a low clearance.

Can't imagine that such breathtakingly beautiful places exist. The unit has everything one could need and more. No photo can show how beautiful the view really is. From our arrival we were taken care of and everyone is so helpful and friendly. With people coming in and cleaning every day you can really relax and enjoy what there is to do. There's wood and ice available, so that's even less good to worry about.
Breathtaking view, silence, beautiful gardens, forest path to the jetty, helpful Tsepo on the boat. It was all unbeatable and really worth the slightly off the beaten track.

The gardens and dam views were amazing. The accommodation was basic but clean. Suggest you take coathangers if you want to hang any clothes in the huge wardrobe provided.
My second time at Cycad. Peace, friendliness and influence to realize you are now on holiday. Atmosphere created is "to go back again". I highly recommend stopping there and staying the night, no matter if you are heading to Kosiba or Mozambique, treat yourself to a "pit stop".

Picturesque nature. The silvery clean water where you can see the fish. We received the most wonderful service upon arrival, as well as throughout our stay the service and atmosphere was wonderful and we wanted to stay even longer. The boat rides were also memorable and wonderful.
I had a great stay. I needed peace of mind for the weekend and exactly got that. I'm definitely coming back for New Year's Eve.

What an incredible place, we really enjoyed our visit. The service is fantastic. David the owner took good care of us, they make sure you have everything you need. The fire was packed every day, they provided us with ice. The cottage was nice and very clean, they are also well equipped with all your fishing needs. I would recommend the place to anyone.

We had a fantastic weekend in this piece of paradise. The location and views are unbeatable. Friendly and very relaxed host and wife plus very friendly staff make it a particularly nice place to go and relax. Bonus is that there is enough ice and wood plus the raft\boat for a cruise on the dam combined with tiger fishing makes it even better. Road is a challenge but adds to the adventure.
Was a very nice break. David went out of his way to receive us. The boat ride was very nice. Would suggest it to anyone who wants to get away from the city noise and enjoy the pure nature. The house where we stayed was neat and well equipped.
David is a very friendly and helpful host with whom one can easily communicate. Very pleasant stay, private and very peaceful. Beautiful place. Will definitely stay there again.

Cycad Rock is located in a beautiful location. It's a shame that it's too expensive. R1200 for 2 per day. Unfortunately, you have to weigh that against what you get for it. Just a nice cottage in a nice place and an amazing view, but the place is poorly equipped - one towel, no wardrobes in rooms and very old bedding. The owner is a very nice, kind, friendly person. Could be amazing.
We enjoyed the overnight stay but as a destination, really only if you want to fish for tiger.
