Lovely clean and beautifully decorated place to stay. Right on the beach. Very sheltered from the wind, which blew a gale on the Saturday. Would definitely stay there again.
It was spotless and in the perfect location. Our toddler had a great time together. The owners put a lot of effort into securing the house and we never felt unsafe.
The apartment is beautifully appointed with luxuriously modern facilities. The beds were all comfortable. I would suggest that there be some kind of indication inside the unit to let one know when the safety beams and alarm are activated or deactivated.

The unit is beautiful and it feels completely like you are in Greece. No effort has been spared with the decor and comfort in the unit itself. We were skeptical when we saw it was on the main beach and that safety was an issue. We were not there in peak season, so noise from the beach was not a problem. We enjoyed watching the fishing boats go out and back in every day. For Gautengers who do not have an alarm at home, the whole security situation with alarms was quite bad. However, the unit is on the first floor with a locked ground level entrance. So it is much safer than some of the other units that are at ground level and we felt safe. We were under the impression that our car was going to have to stand on the main stand, but this was not the case. The Kom, where the unit is located, has access control for vehicles and there is a reserved parking area in front of the unit for your vehicle.
We would love to have such a retirement home.
The owner has taken every measure to ensure that the guest experience meets or even exceeds their expectation. The fact that you are not really impacted by load shedding is a big plus. Best view, and best property in Die Kom.
We were terribly surprised with the accommodation, the friendliness and helpfulness of the owner and the staff of Dankbaar. Grateful is equipped so that any woman can experience her dream home. Very tastefully furnished and it's a home away from home. We lacked absolutely nothing, on the contrary, there was much more than we expected. The location is absolutely fantastic with an indescribably beautiful sea view. Elbie, I won't say anything changed. It's an absolute gem of a place. I only wish we could go there more than once a year!

Stay in Paternoster could have let me know in advance that the neighboring property is under construction, definitely would not have used the unit, was really unpleasant. No safe parking (vehicle parked next to beach in open light).

What a magical awesome place Paternoster is, from the stunning extremely comfortable accommodation, to the location, to the restaurants, to friendly residents. What a fabulous place to visit.
The house is on the beach at the end of the road, so there are very few feet and wheels to disturb your rest. The house is excellently equipped with everything you might need for a great visit - good quality and variety of cooking equipment, pillows, beach bags, cookbooks, even knee blankets for the cool evenings and dressing gowns in the closets!
This was truly a home away from home. Everything that one might need for hot or cold weather is there, even board games, candles, fire wood, etc. The decor is beautiful and the view of the bay is beautiful. The house is situated by the boat launch so there is a lot of activity with the locals coming in to help and the day visitors are also parked there so weekends are busy. Saturday night the noise from the revellers was unbearable and when we phoned the police to intervene, they had already dispatched three vans to help in other areas of Paternoster. We felt mostly unsafe. In the daytime walking around, the streets are littered and disordered. But the shops are great and also the many restaurants.
The facilities in the house are of high quality. No neglect. The location is very good. Walking distance to places to eat and visit.
We came to celebrate two birthdays and to relieve all the work stress. The house is extremely tasteful and comfortably furnished. We had a great time, thank you very much.
Dankbaar is the perfect place on the West Coast to feed your soul. The place is equipped with every possible item you can think of. Elbe is more than helpful and just a call away. Thankful, we will definitely see you again next year!
Except for the unbeatable location, Dankbaar is just a feast for the eyes. Excellent equipped with tasteful décor. One immediately feels very welcome and at home. I would definitely like to return for a period longer than a weekend, 10/10. Dankbaar.

What an absolute dream getaway home. Together with families, nothing short, sound of the waves, the house keeps peace.
Service of home, cleanliness of bathrooms etc. poor. Noise factor enormous, cannot sleep with doors open, noise, noise, noise! Security - you cannot relax for fear of being broken into! Expectation high to have a family holiday, chose the tail end of summer holiday! Chose Paternoster and this location after it was recommended to me. Our requirement was to have a rest, time out, sea air, walks on the beach, and real calm family time! Understood house would be serviced twice whilst, every 4 days, only the linen got changed, no bathrooms cleaned, not even a sweep, disappointing and personally such a neat home should have the desire to deliver more cleaning services, or was I supposed to take cleaning materials with me as well? Noise is insane - one cannot sleep with a window or door open for the noise which starts at 4:30am with fisherman, the locals walking past the home, talking, screaming etc. There is a container in the complex area, each day a car would park, and play music that you could feel the bass whilst trying to have an afternoon nap. For having spent R34000.00 - value for money a zero! Beautiful place, though I feel that agents have not stayed nor understand Paternoster, as I would have expected serious warnings on security and noise. Before we arrived we thought we had the jackpot, and within hours all started to crumble.

Key- and breakage deposit:
Key- and breakage deposit is payable with the deposit for the booking and refundable by bank transfer within 5 - 7 working days after departure, once the house has been scrutinised and all found in order. Please note that the key deposit will be retained and additional charges imposed if more guests than booked are found to be utilising the premises. Please furnish us with your banking details on arrival. Keys will not be handed over under any circumstances unless the key and breakage deposit has been received.
Minimum stay required:
2 nights in low and mid-season
3 nights over long weekends
4 nights over Easter weekend
7 nights in high season
