Darling Lodge has beautiful gardens and a pool area. We were in a very comfortable, well-appointed room in the house and had access to a public lounge, where we spent time relaxing. Stephan and Oliver are excellent hosts. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The breakfast was yummy, with a variety of options. Darling Lodge is in an excellent location, within walking distance of restaurants and shops.

It was the most enjoyable stay from start to finish. Hosts were the best. Cleanliness superb, the room was basic but perfect, with attention to detail. Tranquil setting for pure relaxation. Breakfasts were just delicious! We will definitely be back! Thank you for a fantastic few days!

Beautiful old Victorian house in a lovely condition with a garden that gives you an instant sense of peace and tranquillity. In summer, I am sure the swimming pool is well used as it looked so inviting. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. Brilliant service and the breakfast was delicious!
Thank you, a gorgeous town to visit. The Evita Perron Museum, restaurant and theatre are a must We were so well looked after, had a delicious breakfast, sat at the exquisite pool under the shade, listened to the bird calls, and walked into town for any early dinner, recommended by Stephan. We will definitely return and recommend this haven to all our friends. Darling has so much to offer, one needs at least two days and two nights there to experience it all. We missed Evita Perron's show, and also missed out on the lodge's open-air movie night.

Properly hot showers, electric blankets - a hit with the teens, foot-and-claw-baths, to-die-for jams and marmalade made by the owners, lavender and locally-made toffees on the pillow, modest room prices, beautiful gardens, all set in a peaceful, safe, full-of-treasures village.
