I would like to suggest only one thing: instead of just a fan, put air conditioners in the room. It will make those scorching hot days just a little bit better.
The amount of money spent there cannot be compared to the service rendered at the accommodation. The management and staff are very friendly as well. I don't regret my choice and I do not see myself booking at any other place when I am at Brits rather than Dassie paleis.
My family-they will stay there again anytime.

The bathroom ceiling is disgusting, bathroom tiles broken with mould on grout, the place is maybe okay for mining contractors or construction workers, but not a place for family.
More, we went home earlier. We went home on Saturday morning. First of all, the photo does not match what the place looks like. The seat outside was covered with ants and in the kitchen there were many too. The answer we got is that the ants come to the water. We went to buy doom ourselves to spray, then at least we could sit outside. So the poison they say they sprayed doesn't work at all.
Neat, quiet place with good service.
It is a pity we didn't get to spend much time there during day light - but what we did see was great!
Accommodation was fair, I feel the price was a little high for log cabins but it was clean, comfortable and convenient for our needs.
What could be improved: No bedside lamps, no fire extinguisher in the cottage, no emergency numbers. No lifebuoy at the pool.
1 - Pan can be cleaned with steel wool. 2 - Security gate and car gate can be a plus to look at, as well as access control. 3 - Sponge can also be added to clean pots and pans better. 4 - I think R640 per night is too much, max R580.
We loved our stay at the Dassie Paleis. It was close enough to get to and from town, mall etc. The chalet was fully equipped with everything we would need and it had alarms for security. I will definitely stay there with the family again when I visit Brits.

Due to double booking of house type we were not notified in advance, so we arrived at Dassie Palace with preconceived expectations. Great was our disappointment when all 4 of us were ushered into a small room and welcomed. Instead of relaxing and resting, we were stressed because children can't sleep on bunk beds and had to sleep on the ground and mom and dad had to shout for the children to sleep, we couldn't have a coffee before we also went to sleep. It was truly stop and go now. Under other circumstances, our experience might have been more positive, but this visit was disappointing. Place very clean and tidy and management tried to make up for the reservation but it's a no from our side.

Traveling with two small children and having to experience this was not very convenient. couldn't even make coffee the next morning.
The weekend was nice, but very noisy with contractors moving in and out and not to mention the train track that is against the site. Upon arrival, it looks like you've arrived at a scrap yard. It's not pretty at all. If you are going to rest this is not the place.

Although we didn't see the dassies on the day we were there, it is a nice place. The kids loved the pool and the play area. Some of the cabins might need a bit of an upgrade or at least some TLC. Good place for a stopover.
I am a little disappointed in the value for money. We slept in a single room where there were 5 beds. Although everything was tidy and the bedding was nice and clean, I think it's a bit expensive for one room with 5 beds. What also upset me was, I inquired about breakfast and the response was that it was a little short of knowledge and that breakfast could not be made just for us. Also the main entrance is not locked and allows access to anyone at any time of the evening.
Not at all satisfied with Dassie Paleis: The kitchenware is very basic and old and the kettle is chalky. Bathroom's faucet is broken and bathtub's enamel has seen better days. The whole house needs more wall plugs and only one bedroom has a mirror with a wall plug. The parking at the house we booked is very difficult to park and get out again.
The people who work there are very friendly and happy to help if there is a problem.
We would definitely go back to Dassie Paleis. Personnel is very friendly as well. We had the best time just relaxing and looking at all the dassies and rabbits. Loved it!
With aching hearts like ours, the little place provided comfort and rest and we could face a new day at the hospital with more courage and an easier get up the next morning. No one and nothing entered our space and we were able to rest after a very long journey

Thank you very much, we had a great stay. Next time we would like to stay in a bigger room for a family, but the back packers were not bad. I would have liked a mirror in the room and more space in the shower to hang your clothes or space on a bench to put things down. The parking for your car is dangerous because the sharp stones can damage your tires, you can look at throwing grass or cement slabs there. Other than that, very peaceful and will definitely make a visit there again.
We received what we paid for with no problems. Some of the goods are a bit older and used. There is also a long inventory list waiting for you when you arrive.

Would not recommend for people who want to over sleep. The bathroom light doesn't work, the boiler doesn't work. The shower gave problems and first had to wait for the owner to come and turn on the water. Then when you go to the car or just any movement outside the little dog keeps barking, and our neighbors had a barbecue outside so the dog was not quiet for one moment. The breaking things are no sets. 4 different types of cups. The can definitely be classified as a low-class backpackers so that one does not have to feel disappointed with the accommodation.

There was no hot water and when we informed them about it there was little to no emotion around it.
The location of Dassie Paleis is not very good and you feel unsure how to drive through the industrial area, in order to avoid pot holes. The braai area is not ideal to sit at when you braai. Chalets and bedding was clean and neat and the people very friendly.
Some of the curtains' hooks were gone and could not close properly. One fan was broken and was never fixed and the other fan could not rotate. No burglar bars in front of the windows and sliding door and no gate or guard at the main entrance which did not make us feel very safe at night and had to close the window in an already hot room. The building materials were lying everywhere and were not very soothing to the eye. The room was cleaned neatly every day and the staff was very friendly. The badgers, bunnies and birds were a treat for the soul early in the morning. Definitely a badger palace. If you just want to rest and have no expectations for the price, this is a good place to rest. Especially next to not newly built swimming pool.

If it was very cheap you could understand if you spend the night in crooked zozo huts, but it wasn't.
Not happy with accommodation and facilities. Pool was a bore hole pool. The other pool small and dirty.
The place is good to relax and enjoy the weekend. It is near the shopping centre. Rooms are clean.
