We stayed in the cottage at De Haas Living @ Die Laan 40 with friends. It was ideally located close to all the restaurants and the university. Nicely decorated and very clean and tidy. The pool was a life saver in the 40 degree heat of Stellies. Staff were friendly and helpful and would definitely stay again.
We had a very nice and pleasant time at the guesthouse. The very spacious room was the best and I had enough space with my teenage daughter. The proximity to the university (where our other daughter is studying), to the centre of Stellenbosch and the nearby wine farms, plus the close distance to Cape Town is sensational. We were a bit surprised that we couldn't actually reach anyone on site and therefore were unable to take advantage of the breakfast offered from 8.00 to 10.00 am on the first day. On the other days we didn't even try to have breakfast, but went to nearby cafes. But there is an offer for a breakfast!
De Haas was perfect for our one night in Stellenbosch. The location is great and close to some of the best restaurants in Stellenbosch. We stayed in the pool house; it was neat and tidy and had everything we needed.
We had a nice stay, the place needs some work, so the maintenance is not up to standard. There was also no mirror or plug close to each other to be able to blow hair. Lugging is perfect, but for the money one pays, their place will need to be renovated and look at cleanliness as well. Cobwebs in corners.
We arrived all fine, we got back after dinner to find out all lights were not working as it was load shedding. We were informed that the other clients used the aircon so the back up battery was no longer able to be used. No aircon units should be connected to back up batteries. No oven or anything else either. Pillows were shocking condition and mattress wasn't good either.
Overnight with wife and baby. Large rooms with air conditioning. Wish I could have such a bed in my house. Breakfast was delicious and served quickly. Staff and management very friendly and helpful.
Very helpful, pleasant hostess Claudia, part of the experience making us feel welcome and at home. Keeping us informed about the load shedding schedule and sorted out minor problems with ease.

Had an issue with only one remote between two couples, and couldn't get out of the property. Also not enough mirrors and towel hooks. But loved it.
We slept well and had a nice breakfast. Thank you very much.
The Pool Room was perfect - comfortable, spacious, clean. Micaela was welcoming and happy to assist when needed. Being able to have a braai around the pool was a bonus.

We would recommend De Haas Living 1000 times over. Micaela, Karen and the rest of the staff went out of their way to make it a pleasant experience for us once again.
We stayed in the pool cottage and it's beautiful. The hosts were very helpful and very friendly. The house was spotless and there were even cleaners some days. The pool area was a lovely bonus in Covid time when the beaches were closed. The only thing that might improve is to put mirrors in the rooms. I will definitely stay there again.

The owner offered us an upgrade in accommodation here as they were doing repairs on the unit we did book. So we stayed in luxury at a very cheap price. Thank you very much for your good service.
