Surrounded by gum trees and overlooking the Soetmuisberg, the cottage is off the grid, and is powered by gas, paraffin, and has a wood-burning donkey for hot water.
The cottage can accommodate 4 adults and a child, and comprises 1 bedroom with a double bed and a bathroom with a bath and a shower. A double sleeper couch is available in the living area, and a cot is available on request. For convenience linen and towels are provided, and guests please need to bring their own swimming towels.
The open-plan kitchen is equipped with a gas stove, a gas fridge, tea- and coffee-making facilities, as well as an indoor fireplace, and meals can be enjoyed at the dining table. Paraffin lamps are also provided.
Glass stacking doors open the bedroom, living area and bathroom to a deck that overlooks the splash pool and firepit. The splash pool can also be heated by the wood-burning donkey. Wood, firelighters and matches are provided. The perimeter is enclosed, and pets are welcome. Please note, there is a gravel road leading to the accommodation.
The farm offers various activities such as walking, mountain biking, birdwatching and canoeing. Guests can also stop by the dairy to collect a ration of fresh milk, and with prior arrangement, children can sign up for a crash course in dairy farming.

13 guests' feedbackAn incredible experience! In the middle of nature, no traffic, long walks and fresh air. Somewhere to stay for as long as you can! Stunningly private and incredibly well-kept property.
We had such a good time there that we simply stayed one extra night. The bottle of wine, rusks and farm fresh milk was a great treat. Our dog really enjoyed the lawn too. Will definitely book there again.
It was very relaxing to break away from the hustle and bustle of the city and the peace and quiet without electricity was idyllic.

This is a lovely chalet with a beautiful view from your bed or bath / shower. No power, paraffin lamps and fire are all you need here, very nice. Choice of indoor or outdoor grilling.
The cottage was exactly what we wanted - everything one needed (lots of wood) and a lovely stoep with a view. The host was also great - friendly & responsive. We loved it.
Everything we needed was there. Kids had a great time getting away from all screens. Due to rain, the dirt road was challenging in our non-offroad car for daily in/out trips however no issues in the end. Truly great location and setup. Friends that visited while there were as impressed as us, highly recommended.

The cottage was equipped with everything one could possibly need. From a grater to a 'pooper scooper' for the dogs. The extras like biscuits, milk, etc. was a welcome surprise and we had a great time. My child just wanted to stay and was very sad to say goodbye to the cows. We are already making plans to go again and would definitely recommend. 5 stars!

The cottage is very well equipped and has everything you need for a nice, peaceful weekend with your companion.

We come from Gauteng, Kempton Park. We were scared to death because there were no security doors. Soon we realized that they live in a completely different SA than us. We both grew up on farms. When we had to stoke the donkey and light lamps it was more than nostalgic. This is what you call turning off technology, no TV and everything that controls our lives. After 16 days we had to say goodbye with difficulty. Thank you very much for allowing us to come here to rest after a year of running around and hustle and bustle.

The balance please need to be paid on arrival when checking in; unfortunately, no credit card facilities are available.
Pets are welcome and the first 2 pets stay for free; any additional pets will be at an additional cost of R50 per animal per day.
