It has a fully fitted kitchen and cosy lounge. Daily cleaning services with fresh towels provided.
The Guest House can also be booked as a 2 bedroom self-catering cottage with kitchen dining and lounge areas. An interleading door separates and compartmentalises it into 2 self-catering units.

Will surely go back again as this is so close to home than we ever feel, clean, all you need in your own home is/was there and on the spot. The agent supplied wrong info on the B&B as the client doesn't provide breakfast, but that is not so bad, as they had coffee in the room and a kitchen to wake up and have the most beautiful view over the sea and whales.

Safe environment, friendly hostess. The rooms are neat and clean and comfortable. No covered parking. No direct path to the beach, but the view overlooks the sea.
The guest house was just as advertised, great value, close to everything, private and comfortable. Everything you need is provided. There are 5 different rooms. Note: the roads in the area are steep, consider this when booking in the area.

The guest house owner, Mrs. Peffer, is such a polite person. She gave us a warm welcome and accommodated my early arrival. She ensured that we were comfortable and met all our needs.
My stay was good just a pitty that the images dispayed by lekker slaap was not the same as what i got! In the images it looks like you have access to the sea from your door but it was not like that at all when we got there! We were ontop of the garage a small unit but from images it looked like we were getting something differently Lenora was a lovely lady and i cannot fault her at all my complaint is with lekker slaap as from the way it was displayed it looked like we would get a sea view and also images of rooms vs what we got wasnt exactly the same so i would recommend you break the view and rooms differently so guest know exactly what they getting but over all i will go back as lenora was great and the place was clean and her hospitality made a difference.
The self-catering unit sleeps 4, it is not suitable for 3 people at first. Not the value for what one pays. The unit was very uncomfortable because the whole unit is built on a slope. Everything is on a downward spiral. The place needs some sprucing up as shown in the photos, not what one gets. We did not see stairs to the sea and the stairs that are there are very unsafe. Bit of an invasion of our privacy to come and clean the place while we were out.

A neat, clean, good value for money option close to the beach and it has all necessary amenities. Definitely would use if again if ever back in Durban.
The view is beautiful, the room was well-kept and cleaned daily. It was a really nice stay. I was slightly annoyed with another guest's dog who kept running into our room, leaving a mess, whenever we had the patio door open.
Whale watching throughout the day, location is excellent, if I ask again for Durban please. number 1 suggestion.

This unique gem of an inland accommodation is every traveler's dream destination if you are looking for friendly hospitality, caring personality and a quiet and private atmosphere where you can regain yourself in spirit and mind, to recharge the batteries for the hustle and bustle. of the business world beyond. Breakfast was fantastic and tasty prepared with love and more than enough. The sea front view is incredibly beautiful and hypnotizes the soul to a distant island. Parking is very safe and there are no disturbances or threshold runners. The necessary shops if you need to visit them are not too far away. Lenora is an angel from heaven with a very friendly Errol as a husband who shares their heartbreak with you with open arms without any pretensions. De Oude Meester is my second home and I will make a point of sharing it with my family/family on a follow-up work visit and/or holiday break. The owners keep their hand on their home and don't let the place be too full of visitors, which is a plus and accommodation is taken care of daily by friendly support staff under Lenora's supervision. My visit was just too short to see the dolphins frolicking, but I really can't complain about anything. Thank you very, very much!

Lenora made the place feel as if it was home away from home. The adults managed to relax and wash away the stresses of everyday life whilst the kids just had fun. Meeting the owners was amazing, Errol and Lenora made us feel like at home and as if we knew each other for years as old friends. The guesthouse felt like a luxury home away from home, catering at our every needs and made sure we were comfortable and cozy. The view was breathtaking and relaxing, having breakfast and listening to the waves break was such a relaxing and calming feeling for us, waking up to the perfect sunrise with a warm cuppa was fantastic. Lenora even took the time to text us some of the places we could have a sit down or even malls that we can visit. Staying sanitized was also a top priority at the guesthouse, the cleaning lady Fedile was a wonderful spirit to have around, very attentive and made sure our place sparkled everyday. For anyone who needs a breakaway from the busy life or even if its just for a weekend or a family getaway/vacation I can say this wonderful De Oude Meester Guest House would be the perfect place to come and relax. The price is in the top range of affordability, a big thank you to the warm welcoming owners and to the website.

You can't go wrong with this place!! Besides the apparent winners such as cleanliness, the view, and safety, there is the good mattress and linen, the dishwashing soap, dishwasher, toilet spray, etc. which all contribute to a wonderful experience. The cleaning every day was a bonus. Our hostess was so friendly and considerate. Absolute value for money.

Skoon, gerieflik, goed toegerus, vriendelike eienaars, Lenora en Errol ! Eenheid daagliks skoongemaak en skoon handdoeke ook daagliks voorsien. Errol was baie behulpsaam toe ons probleme opgetel het met ons motorsleutel. Baie dankie vir al julle gasvryheid.
The place is absolutely stunning with such an amazing view. We planned to stay just for one night, but upon arriving we booked for another. Currently booked in again for another week. I would definitely recommend this place. There is a large veranda overlooking the ocean just outside our room, which makes a nice cosy place for working if you are travelling for business. The hostess, Lenora, is such a friendly and accommodating hostess. Truly one of my new favourite places to be.

Our group arrived much earlier than the 14:00 check-in time, but was hospitably received. Accommodation is comfortable and the cool veranda with the sea view was a winner! The bedrooms were warm although fans were provided. Air conditioning may be considered. Clean, comfortable, well equipped, friendly hostess and staff! Thanks, enjoyed our short stay.

You would struggle to find kinder more amenable hosts. Nothing was ever too much trouble and they were always just a phone call away. Die Oude Meester is also located with a front row seat view over the Indian Ocean. It is wonderful to relax on the deck and distress from the frenetic pace of city life.

South Beach has a lot going on, Bluff is not only mod way to CBD in one direction but halfway to township making it ideal.

This is a treasure hidden away from all normal travellers. A lovely unit, exceptional hospitality, friendly staff and helpful owners. The whole family enjoyed our stay and couldn't have ask for a better place. They went over and above the call off duty! They still do this because they care for each guest as if we where their first guest ever. This isn't a business but a act of loving what they do.
The rooms were absolutely lovely, with beautiful decor and clean linen and towels (and a daily cleaning service). We had a nice balcony with a fantastic view of the ocean and even spotted some wales. Everything was beautifully maintained and the rooms were lovely and spacious with a large shower which I appreciated. One thing that really bothered me was that we were there for a weekend when Durban experienced above 30 degree weather and the fans in the rooms were broken, rusted and very noisy, not making any kind of difference to the humidity and making it difficult to hear anything but the noise of the fans. It might be a good idea to upgrade to aircon, especially for the bedrooms as it was very uncomfortable.

The pictures on the web do not do the place justice. There is a fantastic, cosy braai area. We expected a room with the kids sleeping on a sleeper couch, but instead we got a whole spacious flat with 2 bedrooms, a lounge and a large fully equipped kitchen. We will definitely be going back. Very peaceful and a beautiful view of the sea. The only problem is that you have to drive everywhere and cannot walk to get to the sea.
The view (even from your bed) is absolutely breathtaking. The beach is walking distance and safe with many natural pools at low tide with lots of colorful fish and other marine life. The cleaning lady was a welcome surprise - lovely not to have to wash dishes on holiday. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful. DStv and WiFi are also nice extras. Parking inside is also safe.
