Recommendations from our side would be perhaps another comfortable sofa on the veranda for if it is 8 people and also perhaps an umbrella for some coolness by the pool. We will definitely go back! It is luxurious and private and lovely. Thank you very much for a fantastic weekend. The only other suggestion would also be that you can check in a little earlier and also check out a little later. 12 hours in and 12 hours out is perhaps a bit more fair for the price one pays for the weekend.
Accommodation was 5 star with all the amenities. We will definitely come back.

We had a stunning weekend just close enough to Pretoria, however far enough to feel completely isolated, with Njala bushbuck and a variety of birdlife. The stars at night were incredible! Our host was also super welcoming and friendly. We loved the kingsize bed with luxurious bedding en comfortable spacing. The main bathroom was stunning with a beautiful adjacent courtyard garden. lovely to spend in the relaxing bath - which is also stunning! The location is awesome ideal since our stay offered a peaceful and tranquil setting with lovely views over the bush and at night stargazing. Overall we couldn't be happier for discovering this gem and we are sure to return, however with the kids in summer !. Thanks so much, Oom Norman and Norman Jnr for a memorable weekend. We loved it!

Henk makes a lot of effort and is always there to help. Very nice house and chalets. Had the whole place to ourselves and a nice warm pool overlooking a very nice forest. Goats and nightingales on the front porch.
Would recommend for sure, quiet quiet tidy well equipped and lots to do in surrounding area.

Very nice stay! If you are looking for something quiet this is the place. Place completely solar and gas geysers. Just have to work well with power otherwise it might run out during the night. Bit of a challenge with babies but think it went well with them. Very friendly welcome and completely on your own. Will definitely visit again. One bedroom is upstairs and does not have a bathroom with it, both bathrooms are downstairs.

Very nice house with lots of space, lovely veranda, heated swimming pool overlooking the surroundings and a nice braai pit for a nice campfire in the evening. We rented the whole house and two additional rooms, nice privacy, we could hang out until late without bothering anyone. Johan who runs the place was very helpful. We will definitely visit again!
We got there and were immediately greeted by the friendliest people I have ever met. They went absolutely out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our time there. Johan turned an ordinary holiday into an absolute experience for us. We will visit again soon! Definitely value for money!

The silence of the woodland was just the thing to get away from the hustle and bustle of our lives, and celebrate our wedding anniversary. We wanted more privacy and stayed in the house rather than one of the two apartments. The house is particularly beautiful and well equipped, and everything was spotless. We spent our time on the porch, and in the pool with the most beautiful view. Many thanks to our hosts Norman and Johan, who made an effort for us, but also maintained enough distance not to disturb. If you want to rest and recharge, rather than have an action-packed weekend, we can definitely recommend De Schuur.
We were warmly received by Henk - the place is beautiful and neatly maintained. He stopped by every late afternoon, put out goats' and nagapi's food and made sure the power would see us through for the evening. Only discomfort in the house was the second room's bathroom which is not en-suite. This makes getting up and down in the evening a bit inconvenient. Still a wonderful visit with beautiful views. I would rather recommend the house with an apartment if there are 2 couples staying (unless they are young and don't mind going up and down stairs at night for a bathroom).

This was a great place, nice and peaceful - like a home away from home. I love that there is no TV so we get to really connect on a personal level. We were outside by the pool most of the time, the view is priceless. The interior is like heaven, would definitely go there again very soon!

We really enjoyed the weekend at De Schuur. Very neat and clean accommodation and the fact that our Yorkies could go together was for sure a plus.
It is a large residential unit with a beautiful view, swimming pool and outdoor shower, but not a getaway, too little to do on the premises itself.
Place is very neat and clean, but lacks a few things such as mirror cabinet, TV and there is also no WiFi. Braa area in front of unit 2 is used by other guests so there is no privacy. Bathroom window has no blind in it so no privacy.
Norman was very friendly and helpful, and even informed us that we could depart later. Unit 2 is very modern and so was the next door house which we were shown while there. There are however too many extras/necessities missing that we would normally find and expect for the price. The unit shower head did not work properly and the unit also needed a sweep. No television is provided which would not really bother us if we could sit outside and enjoy the bushveld, but on this weekend there was very loud music being played on the adjoining property. All and all not bad but not exactly what we expected.
Very neat place and beautiful in the bushveld. Just bring along plugs and an extra mirror if you do your hair or something like that and there have been a few power issues, but it was fixed later. Furthermore very nice place.
