Incredible getaway in a breathtaking and magnificent tranquil setting. De Stal on Vaal has an authentic rustic farm riverside feel, excellently laid out and equipped with all the creature comforts. The hosts were very friendly, considerate, and thoughtful in making your stay in Douglas memorable! The farmhouse has something for everyone to do and enjoy, whether you are active like us or just want to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and beautiful nature. There are many activities like walking, mountain biking, canoeing, and fishing. The property has a large covered braai area outside on the front porch with plenty of seating and shelter for both winter and summer braais/barbecues, and guests can enjoy their morning coffee, sandwiches, or evening sundowners from there. In the evening, you are mesmerized by the river and golden sun-sprinkled sunsets. We will definitely recommend De Stal on Vaal as a must-visit for anyone who loves the outdoors or who wants to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Can't wait to visit again very soon! Had a great time and rested by the river. Unfortunately the heatwave kept us mostly indoors, but early morning and late evening by the river was a bonus.
The directions were accurate. We were warmly received, the place was very neat and the decor an inspiration. The view is very beautiful and the atmosphere is very peaceful. We didn't want to come back.

One can enjoy cycling to the confluence and along canals. One can also row to the confluence. Trick slides are fun for kids.
