Very very nice unit. Just showering in the bath is a bit old and had trouble getting out of the bath due to glass for shower. A railing on the wall will help a lot. Delicious biscuits and coffee. Place really highly recommended, very very beautiful.
Stay was good, but general maintenance is needed in the room. The bathroom may need the most attention.

Very nice stay in a quiet farm atmosphere.
On a road trip from Cape Town to Gauteng, we stayed over for one night. The host was very courteous, the room was very comfortable, and the stayover provided us with a much-needed good night's rest. You can see from the extra attention to detail that the hosts are very proud of the accommodation that they offer. It was awesome to wake up to the sounds of farm animals.

We immediately felt at home and every need was catered for. There is a rural feel, yet the accommodation is within easy reach of the motorway. This morning we were greeted by a.o. A Great Dane and his tiny 'side-kick'. Beautiful interior decoration and a nice cozy porch. I can highly recommend De Stalle.

This was perhaps the cleanest and neatest guesthouse we have ever stayed at. It's also perfect for people traveling with large dogs because the chalet where we lived is surrounded by proper walls and a steel gate. It's a 10 out of 10 place and the manager, Aidan, really deserves kudos for his attention to detail.
We used De Stallen as a place to stay the night back from holiday. Very nice and clean. The children really enjoyed it because they love animals. Will definitely use De Stallen again.

It was wonderful to spend the night at De Stallen with our little daughter. The green grass, park and farm animals made us feel like we were visiting a farm, even though we were only a few minutes from the city center. The room was tastefully furnished. We will definitely come back again.

We felt right at home in the stylish yet cosy room. The warm, friendly reception, even though we arrived rather late, was very welcoming. The room was clean and neat and we really enjoyed our stay. Neat, beautiful place with everything you need. We love nature and wanted to stay somewhere where you don't feel cooped up, especially because our pets had to travel with us. For the first time in years we heard a train go by and even little chickens came to say good morning. We will definitely want to stay there again.

Located on the outskirts of Bloemfontein. Beautiful room and well equipped for overnight stay. Provision was made for a small breakfast: eggs, cereal biscuits, coffee and tea. Would definitely recommend.
However, I would recommend that the owners just replace the bathtub with a walk-in shower. Currently the shower is inside the bath, and this creates future problems with older guests, sliding and getting in without holding space could potentially create a problem for them if someone were to get hurt. Their bench inside is uncomfortably hard, the table outside seat which is attached to the table is uncomfortable. Separate 2 comfortable chairs and separate small table can make a world of difference. Their king size bed is a winner, everything else was excellent and clean.
Comfortable with a large, nicely fenced area for dogs. However, the area is not private to the unit as expected.
DSTV only has certain channels.
Only 2 things that I think they definitely need to address: 1. Wall plugs are a problem and it's a hassle. Had to boil the kettle at the TV power plug. 2. Please replace the beds and mattresses. It's a crack all the time and maybe it adds to the farm atmosphere? But I didn't like the crack.

After an awkward moment where the intercom didn't work, the rest of the stay was top notch. Kim went out of her way to make things even more comfortable. The place is peaceful and yet very close to the N1. There were options for food delivery, but the nearest restaurant was less than a 10 minute drive away. You can explore the plot and play with the very friendly dogs. There is plenty of coffee and tea with biscuits and eggs if you decide to make yourself a breakfast.

We were warmly received by the owner who was friendly and made us feel right at home. The braai area under the tree was perfect for us to relax as a family after a long day on the road from the Western Cape. The cottage has everything you need for a long stay or single night stay. On the surface everything is neat and clean, unfortunately there were several spiders in the cottage on the ceiling which made the children feel uncomfortable. The spiders were treated with spray poison and everyone could then calm down again. We will definitely use De Stallen again in the future.

It was lovely to stay on this small working farm plot. The rooms are neat and clean. Decor is a little over the top, but everything you need is provided for. Not many restaurants to eat nearby. But the local burger places down the road are pretty good and we enjoyed our takeout.

The only thing I was unhappy about was the uncomfortable bed and we had to ask for Wi-Fi.

When I arrived at De Stallen, the intercom at the gate was not working and I called the contact person listed on the website email. The man was inconsolable and immediately said that I had not corresponded with them about the time I was going to arrive. I communicated an exact time by email 4 days before the day of my reservation and arrived at exactly that time. The man then promised to open the gate so that I would have to wait for him at the pool for a while, because he was not there. I waited outside the gate for more than an hour, no one came to open or try to communicate with me in any way. One of their other guests then began to worry about the car standing in front of the gate and came to ask me if I was waiting for someone. She was then kind enough to open the gate for me. I arrived there at 14:00 as pre-booked, I was only allowed into the yard at 15:25 thanks to another guest and the owner didn't arrive at the place until 17:15.

We were very satisfied with our stay in Farm House 2. Due to the nature of our group that spent the night there, it was an adult who slept on the sleeper coach. The sleeper coach is more suitable for children and small adults. We had a great time visiting and barbecuing and never felt that our privacy was violated. The garden is neat and it is nice to listen to and watch the birds. It was also nice to hear an ostrich again.

On the way back from the Cape, Bloemfontein's De Stallen Guesthouse awaited us welcomingly. The living room is spacious and tidy. We stopped over on the way to Cape at De Stallen and were really impressed with the place. Everything you need is there - fridge, microwave, kettle, crockery and cutlery, etc. The decor is beautiful and we enjoyed walking and looking at the bunnies, geese, ducklings, etc. The location is very convenient - there is a BP garage at the same turn, and you don't have to struggle through the town to get there.
