The place was clean and hot tub ready and waiting for us upon arrival. Lovely staff and place.
We enjoyed it and the heated pool was a highlight. The bed was not comfortable. A braai dish and tongs would be great. The write-up does not mention a dual shower, so that was a nice surprise. A screen by the pool towards the road would add to more sheltered privacy. Overall, a lovely venue.

We had a wonderful 5 day break at the Nightjar Cottage between Christmas and New Year. The hostess, Juanita, was super friendly and helpful and made sure we settled in comfortably. The photos are true to the accommodation, the cottage was even better than what we expected. We felt very safe and had a lot of privacy. It was a wonderful break away from the city for us.
We loved our stay, it was so peaceful with only the sounds of nature to listen to. The wood-fired hot tub was amazing and the staff were all so friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back.
I was not aware that there were no cleaning services. I would have liked to be told in advance, as I just had a big surgery 2 weeks ago.
First time in all the years I've used a booking website and not been satisfied at all. What is advertised and the reality is totally different. On our arrival we are informed that there is no service (cleaning and babysitting} because it is Christmas weekend. We are also informed that the generator will not be switched on just for us (16 people, 11 adults 4 small children and a baby) not during loadshedding. If I hadn't paid in advance I would have driven to another place right then and there. Bed linen and towels not changed once in 7 days. On arrival discovered that there were only 2 rooms with one double bed in each is for 4 adult couples and 2 single adults.According to photos, I was under the impression that there are at least 4 rooms plus the attic room.Then the place was definitely not sprayed with poison beforehand.All the beds and also inside the house were covered with small poisonous black spiders and fish moths and also 3 frogs. My father and son bitten between their toes by spiders and it took me a lot of effort and expense to sort them out. Bitten myself on the knee too. Next day I got a tin of poison stuffed in my hand. The hot tub outside's water was n it does not treat and algae on wall and floor inside bath. The donkey was also not cleaned once and was full of ash and therefore did not work effectively. If bags finished on day 4 but no new ones received. Single sheet, poor quality toilet paper in toilets definitely not suitable for ladies. Wood provided was wet and cut into very large awkward blocks. So-called free WiFi was off more than on, and as a business owner was sure to put me out of business because customers couldn't get a hold of me. I was really going to take these people to task about their ad and the actual experience being totally different. No look, not satisfied at all.
The Nightjar house was perfectly equipped for a winter getaway with a fireplace and a Kol Kol hot tub. The service was very friendly and the region was absolutely beautiful, just a shame we couldn't stay longer!
