It's a wonderful place. Beautiful, relaxed and luxurious, pet friendly, plus air-conditioned too. De Wingerd was a fantastic place for me and my mother to stay during a long trip. Our two small dogs were welcome and the staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms feel luxurious for the affordable price we got. In addition, there is a swimming pool with an outside terrace where breakfast is served. It was a wonderful experience to arrive here after a long, very hot day on the road.
The place is very beautiful and all the yellow wood floors and antique furniture bring back memories of my childhood. The grape arbor is also something to behold, and so are the trees. The amenities in the room were a hit, especially the filter coffee machine and all the extras for your use in the bathroom. The breakfast was also a winner.

Die Wingerd is a beautifully restored historic property. Conveniently located. I have stopped over here a few times, consistently of an excellent standard with all required amenities. The host was welcoming. Unit 5 was pet friendly for my 2 miniature dogs.

The Guest House is beautiful and very clean. The location is walking distance to the restaurants and shops and in a lovely part of town. We can highly recommend De Wingerd and the rates are very reasonable. We will go back if we travel through Graaff-Reinet again.

On the way from Gauteng to Plettenberg Bay. Would definitely recommend neat and safe accommodation with friendly staff. And the lights stay on with loadshedding. Nice pool too.
Unfortunately the area had no power all day so no hot water when we arrived - maybe solar panels should be added to their inverter.
It is great to find a pleasant place that is friendly with animals. Just remember that you have to book breakfast in advance. All criticism I have is that there are only lace curtains and the outside lights burn all night. I didn't feel private and have a hard time sleeping in a light room. It's personal preferences.
Shower head could use more pressure, but otherwise everything is 100%.

The room we stayed in was surrounded by brick on both sides and with the sun baking on it it was hell to stay in. We simply could not sleep from the heat. The air conditioning could not work with loadshedding. I recommended at sunset that they at least rinse the bricks in the parking area with a garden hose to provide some illumination, but the request was blatantly ignored. The breakfast for which R100 was asked is sad. Slap dash presented and not value for money at all.

We used the communal kitchen and braai area and it felt homely. Very neat and nicely furnished. However, I think parking could potentially be an issue if all the units are full. We ourselves did not experience any problem with that because only 3 units were rented out at that stage. I would definitely recommend the accommodation, we had a very nice stay. Thank you very much.
The house and garden are very well maintained and the location is great, good coffee, food and shopping are just around the corner. We travel many times with our sheep dog and she was also welcome in the garden unit. There is a nice lawn for throwing a ball. I recommend De Wingerd.
