The old school building has been converted into 3 lovely, spacious rooms that will provide comfortable, quality accommodation for business travellers or families looking for a convenient overnight stop on their way to their holiday- or business destination.
The spacious units feature comfortable beds, bathrooms with showers, the necessary overnight kitchen facilities,, complimentary Wi-Fi and a TV with DStv, a private patio as well as secure parking. Braai facilities, charcoal, fire lighters and matches are available.
The large gardens and tranquil surroundings contribute to the relaxed atmosphere that guests experience when visiting Deo Resta Guest Lodge.
The building is nearly 120 years old and care has been taken during maintenance to keep as much of the old building as possible.
Guests come to explore the area around Piet Retief for the rich South African history surrounding it. Swaziland is a mere 30-minute drive from the lodge and can make for an exciting day trip.

29 guests' feedbackWe were kindly received by the owner at the car. The room is large, comfortable and tidy, with a good shower. Breakfast is served on the nice stoepie by the owner and her daughter.
We stayed in their Serengeti room that catered for 3 people. We had a lovely stay at this graded establishment. It was clean and the breakfast was lovely. The host was welcoming and accommodating. I would recommend the place to friends and family.

The rooms are tastefully furnished, we slept very well there and enjoyed a delicious breakfast. Lizel is an excellent hostess who is happy to provide information about the area. Road directions and other useful information were also sent to us by them before our arrival.
We regularly go to work in different areas around SA. Deo Resta is definitely one of our top overstay guesthouses we have visited. Very quiet on the farm and they treat their guests incredibly well. Rooms are very clean and there is everything you need. We got out early and then there were "breakfast" packages waiting for us on the way out. Will definitely return in the future.

Lizel and Willie are extremely hospitable and their guest house is very neat, clean and luxurious with everything we needed. Free charcoal for a barbecue in the evening and delicious breakfast the next morning is a bonus. We will definitely stop by here again.
Lizel went out of her way and moved us to the larger room once she heard we were on our way to our honeymoon destination and made the room really special at no extra cost. Absolutely fabulous people and would recommend Deo Resta to anyone travelling and looking for an overnight stay. Thank you Lizel for all your effort.

We had such a nice stay and Lizel and Willie were incredibly friendly and hospitable. Even made their garage available for us to park our motorbike in. Clean and tidy. Had a nice breakfast. Would definitely recommend the place to anyone!

The units are super clean and well appointed. The meals are tasty and the owners go out of their way to meet your needs. There is also plenty of room to walk around and stretch your legs after a few hours in your motorcycle's saddle.

We had a lovely stay with Willie and Lizel, beautiful area, very peaceful and comfortable. Rooms are very spacious for two and very cozy. Breakfast is delicious and extra meals are offered too. The hosts are exceptional and helpful, would definitely recommend them and stay there again!

Lizel went the extra mile so we could enjoy our stay. Electric blankets on the beds and the heater which was already on when we arrived in very cold conditions made it very pleasant. It was a pleasant experience at Deo Resta.
We are very glad we discovered the place. It's only about halfway to the North Coast for us. It is very beautiful, neat and the environment is dead quiet. The service and hospitality is also great. It's a shame we could only sleep there one night, because it could also be a great getaway.
We slept well in preparation for a busy full day meeting the following day. It was wonderful.
We loved the appointment of the rooms and the hospitality of the owners. Great place to stay when heading in that direction
