Vredenshoogte Farm, is a small Klein Karoo organic farm just 25 km from Montagu, ideal for relaxed weekend getaways and holidays for couples, friends and families to enjoy the countryside.
Dew Cottage is a charming and rustic self-catering cottage which sleeps up to 5 guests. The main bedroom contains a comfortable queen-sized bed. The second bedroom is an alcove, off the main bedroom, and contains a bunk bed, ideal for 2 children. The fifth single bed is in the lounge. All bedding and towels are provided for.
The kitchen is well-equipped for self-catering with a microwave oven, fridge and gas stove. Blankets and a fan are provided for your comfort. Snuggle up in front of the cosy indoor fireplace in the lounge area. The cottage has a covered wooden deck with outdoor dining furniture where you can enjoy meals or relax in the hammock while overlooking the garden, mountains and the farmlands. Outside braai facilities are provided.

The cottage was simply but comfortably furnished, and the hammock was a lovely treat! Our host was a warm and welcoming person. Our dogs loved exploring and chasing the dassies. We look forward to coming back!
The cottage is wonderfully preserved with paintwork that reminds me of childhood days. The veranda is spacious with great views. The braai place is adequate in a garden setting. The kitchen is well-equipped and the owner is hospitable and welcoming. Highly recommended.
Doreen and her staff really make your stay so enjoyable. No wifi is the best thing during this relaxing time. Highly recommend.

This was a getaway from the city we were looking for. So peaceful surrounded by nature and very quiet allowing to really spend time with your family without TV and phone interruptions.
The host for this stay is lovely and very helpful in all regards. Be aware when travelling at night to this location as the road is very dark and there are animals without fences. Definitely worth it.

My two dog children and I stayed at Dew Cottage for three nights. The fact that there is no cell phone signal is an absolute win if you need a break from every day responsibilities and demands. Doreen is the most hospitable person and her energy makes you immediately relax and feel at home. The cottage is fully equipped and we couldn't ask for anything more. The environment is quiet and the scenery is breathtakingly beautiful. This was my second visit to Dew Cottage and I plan to visit again in the near future.

Surrounded by the beauty of nature and waking up with birds was exactly what we needed for a weekend away.
Beautiful setting! Best part was no cell phone signal so we escaped technology. Trail running and mountain biking was fun! Cottage was pet friendly so our labbie was in his element. The host Doreen was fantastic, we got a very special surprise of chocolate muffins which were delicious.
The cottage is situated in the most beautiful landscape. It is very peaceful and we could really relax on the porch. We went during the coldest, wettest week in winter and saw some snow up on the mountain which added to the fairytale experience, but summer would be just as amazing to be able to spend more time outdoors and do some hiking. The fireplace was a winner! The hosts are very helpful and friendly with all requests and make sure their guests are comfortable. I do think this is a very suitable cottage for families. The one bedroom doesn't have a bedroom door and the bathroom entrance is in this bedroom, so no privacy, I think it is ideal for families and very close friends. I am not sure if Wifi is available - we didn't even ask since we wanted a break from it. But there is no internet access on normal network if people are looking to be in a place where it is available.
Dew Cottage has a very nice garden. We had a nice walk with children and dogs. Last night we could see the stars! Explored the Keisie valley a bit and it's a very beautiful environment. Will want to go back and explore it even more. Doreen is very friendly, a good hostess and we had a nice chat with her. She also bakes the most delicious muffins!
We had a wonderful time at Dew Cottage. The cottage is well equipped, very clean and tidy. Doreen is a wonderful host and we walked, braai'd, slept, and sat and read on the porch. Batteries recharged!
Dew Cottage is the perfect place to recharge your batteries - dead quiet in nature with nothing to disturb the peace.

If you want to relax and enjoy nature, this is the place to be. No cellphone reception and really a peaceful break from the corporate rat race. Fireplace with lovely accommodation and you and your loved one can have plenty of good conversations with each other.
The whole place was awesome. Lacked nothing. Peaceful, tranquil and a fantastic breakaway from city life. Tons of places to hike and the puppies had the freedom to run off the leash which was awesome.

We absolutely loved it on this tranquil getaway with beautiful mountain scenery - the dogs had a blast. Doreen made us feel so at home and even surprised us with home made muffins, yum!

It is wonderfully quiet and peaceful. No TV, no cell phone, just you and your partner and nature. The house is silver clean and tidy. Doreen is a very pleasant person and hostess. Thanks also to the lady who does the cleaning work.
The environment is stunning and it so quiet on the farm. Time to load up your body's batteries and get food for your soul. The cottage is very neat and it has a beautiful 'stoep' where one can 'lekker kuier' while watching the beautiful mountains of the Keisie valley. The hostess was very friendly and helpful. On Sunday morning we were treated on delicious muffins baked by her, a kind gesture really appreciated by us. I will certainly come back and recommend this place for everyone who wants to find peace and leave the busy stressful city life.
