Very nice stay and excellent service with friendly staff.
Reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and tidy with a nice sea view. A plus was that the lights were on with load shedding and we felt safe.
Had a wonderful visit at Diaz Hotel. Breakfast every morning was delicious. Bahia Bleu Restaurant's manager is a hospitable person and he and his staff provide excellent service.

It's always great to stay at the Diaz Hotel and Resort. Breakfast is excellent. WiFi and television reception is poor.
The accommodation was really excellent but the dinner in their restaurant was the worst I have ever experienced. Had to ask to be served and had to wait about an hour and a half before our food was served. Never again.
Beautiful view and well located, but unfortunately that's where it ends. Our bathroom's toilet was very awkwardly squeezed between a bath and a wall with little space, so a tall person would have struggled if they stayed there. We could work with it, but other people won't necessarily manage. The fire alarm went off multiple times each of the 3 mornings we were there (3-5 times), so sleeping late was not an option. And of course, once it goes down, you just have to take the stairs since the elevator won't work for a few minutes. The breakfast hall is in serious need of a manager or alternatively a chef who can take charge. There are a lot of things that you can overlook, but what made it difficult is the fact that they don't make any eggs (fried or scrambled) in advance and keep them in hot bowls with the other breakfast foods like sausages and bacon. So they make all kinds of eggs on demand - which is fine, except if you only have one person making eggs and can only help one person at a time - it causes a long line of people waiting while others get cold food touch Also makes it impossible for people at the table to enjoy their breakfast together. The dining hall was never more than 50% full and it was already chaos. I could not tell that there was a chef on duty or a manager supervising.
Terrible! R6500 a night for no hot water and no privacy for three days! Staff absolutely disinterested in providing service and completely incompetent and poorly trained!

Very neat and conveniently located. Communication was a bit poor about where we have to park, what time our room is ready, where our film festival activities take place, etc. Otherwise very friendly and professional service. Room service very good. Would have liked more options for breakfast and had to ask more than once for spoons etc. One expects more from a four star hotel, otherwise the restaurant is good. The hotel's biggest advantage is its location and beautiful view of the sea. Most beautiful sunrise I've ever seen and it's very comfortable.

It was a quick one-night stay, so we didn't really get to explore the area, but our stay and breakfast were very nice. Beautiful oceanfront room. Perfect location.
The geysers are not big enough for all the guests. Only one can take a shower, the tub also only fills 1/4 before it starts to get cold which was a huge disappointment as the tub was a focal point in the photos. Washing machine was also broken.
There were a few tour buses that arrived and the people stayed in the hotel with us, we then had to move from our dining room to the restaurant for the majority of our stay. It didn't go well. The resturant was not suitable to deliver buffet breakfast, we waited a long time for our food and when we got it, it was not cooked. We had to buy breakfast for the rest of our holiday which was now an extra cost to us. The food in the dining hall where we used to be was great, but then we had to move. Not a nice experience at all.

Very clean and tastefully decorated. Nice big room and bathroom (with a huge picture window, so you can sit in the bath and watch the waves roll in). And the view from the room and balcony are just as gorgeous.

Nice view and nicely located on the beach. There are not really shops nearby and you need a car to go anywhere.
Upon arrival, an additional R600 was placed on our account. Sober knows why, and their feedback was simply that the website made a mistake. Towels were also not provided, and the website's paperwork only indicated that beach towels should be brought. There were also differences in the check-in and check-out times between the hotel and the website's confirmations. The hotel was not at all accommodating about this and placed it at the door of the website. The above was not a reason not to stay here again, but is still something that you tell other people about. I hope I get my additional R600 back.
Unit was not very clean.
Unfortunately, guests can only check in at 14:00 sharp.
The self-service apartment was neat and clean, but there was a very bad smell. We contacted reception and were moved to another apartment about an hour later. Not a lot of information regarding hotel, restaurant, parking or access to the swimming pool given upon arrival. I found the communication very poor. I was quite disappointed.
Location and service disappointing, restaurant so overpriced, portions and quality atrocious. Management overall lacking hotel and restaurant. TV channels in rooms so inadequate and outdated. A cold impersonal unimpressive experience.

Everything was fine when we arrived at the hotel and it was barely 5 minutes until we were in the room. The service was fantastic. The breakfast was excellent and the staff were very helpful. The weather was excellent and we were able to enjoy the outdoors.

Here we had the best stay ever! The most beautiful room with its balcony with its fantastic view of the sea. Vinglek, delicious breakfasts! Dream stay.
Friendly staff, nice view, neat and clean. Nothing is too much trouble. Suggestions: DSTV more channels, Netflix (or smart TV, then you can use your own or your own DStv). Hot water pool still not available. Why can't you as a hotel guest pay the restaurant's bill at the end of your time there, link the two together. Now you have to put transactions on your card every time. Shuttle service, maybe to shopping centers 2 or 3 times a day.
The view of the beach and sea was incredibly beautiful. The price which included breakfast was better than many of the other places.

The pool, water park and beach are all within reach, the atmosphere is fantastic! The rooms are beautiful and clean! It only gets very noisy in the evenings with the music and young people hanging out. But other than that it's fantastic!

The staff are all very friendly and the service is also fast. The whole hotel and the rooms are very nice, neat and clean.
Take own towels, unit 1001 neglected, some of the furniture has cigarette burn spots, parts of the ceiling have mold spots. Overpriced and can get better in Diaz. Furthermore, unit rules and regulations must be read carefully, because what was unexpected was the R 1500 breakage deposit. And should you break one of the rules, a deposit will be applied for it. Also, someone must inspect the unit before you can check out. But no one is available. Would I stay there again? I doubt it.
Matric farewell held in hotel with accompanying vehicles making noise.
But they would really do something about their cockroaches, that put us off because they were in the bed. We spoke to manager but there was no change. They will lose customers.
We will definitely go back to Diaz Hotel. The view is magnificent and the apartment is very modern and clean.

They can only put towels in the rooms. Did fly off space was little when to buy towels. They can give you options whether you want to clean yourself or pay for one. I would pay for one because you are going to rest. Lovely place.

The views are spectacular. The rooms are very clean and the staff is friendly. The breakfast was definitely the best. I would recommend Diaz Beach Hotel any day. The only bad experience we had was at the pool, it's not just for hotel guests as advertised. Other holiday goers who were clearly not staying in the hotel that occupied the beach loungers at the pool from 5 am only arriving at 12 pm and leaving at 4 pm. There was absolutely no control at the pool's gate. Also the walk through at the hotel's entrance by random people was a big irritation as the lobby was crowded most of the time.

Diaz Hotel is ideally located with a variety of activities in the area. The hotel and accommodation units were clean and we felt safe at all times. Had a great time. If I can criticize at all - we were not aware of the fact that there would be no towels available (bit of a bummer with 4 kids) and our self catering unit was in the bottom left corner - could still see sea but wow, can only imagine how it must have looked higher up.
Check-in time is 14:00. After 9 hours on the road we arrive at our destination at 13:00. So hoped we could just unpack and relax, unfortunately the lady at reception says we have to come back in an hour to book in. Okay, that's the rule, fall in with it. 14:00 we are there again. Do the formalities, get the key and move to our unit. Once there we find the cleaner still cleaning, unit is dirty. We stand around. 20 minutes later a person comes who offers us another unit. Thank goodness. Move all the luggage to the new unit again. Nice clean comfortable beautiful view. 15:00 we can start our holiday. On Saturday, the hotel swimming pool, which is sold as a plus point, is unfortunately prohibited due to a private function. No hotel guest may use it. Not fair to the guests at all. It was only the 3 points that got me hot under the collar. Food from the restaurant great. Good value for money.

Apartment is stunning, but a big detraction is made due to dark master bedroom and bathroom. Bathroom also gets no fresh air. Everything stays moist. Staff make a lot of noise in corridors early in the morning.

The quality/hygiene standards of the kitchen need a serious going over. We ordered room service 3 times and every single time the food was inedible: greasy, badly prepared. The recycling of previous day's food in the buffet breakfast area bordered on dangerous. Processes need to be instituted to stop over-catering and dealing with leftovers. I am sure the same fruit salad was served to us for over a week as was the butter which tasted rancid. Too much greasy food in the cooked section - no alternatives for those on a fat free diet. Some days we were served tea an coffee at our tables and others not. Twice we had to phone reception to get more toilet paper because it had not been replenished (seriously)!
The hotel looks like it is starting to age and there are many small things that are not right and feel "off".
I tried to move my stay to another date but was informed by the website that Diaz hotel will move my dates but that I still lose my deposit because I wanted to do it 29 days before the booking date. So no. I will not stay with them and definitely do not recommend them.
The breakfast at the hotel is of top quality as well as the service and the service we received from all the staff was very good. They all deserve a thumbs up. Thank you for making our stay so pleasant.
The location is the best part, the beach is on the doorstep. The little restaurant on the ground was lovely and convenient and a convenience shop within walking distance. The hot pools were a few meters from the hotel which is recommended for children. Staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful, good value for a 3 star hotel.

Brilliant place. Only issue was that the geyser was inside the apartment, which brought unwelcome guests. Unending views of the ocean with easy and safe access.

On departure, we forgot all our shower things in the shower. At reception, someone was sent to check the place before the deposit could be refunded to us. This person did not report that items remained in the unit. For us, it's not about the shower things, but about the fact that it could have beent a handbag or jewellery that was left behind and it was not reported? Inquired via telephone, but without much success.
Parking in the parking garage is totally impractical and unsafe for senior citizens.
The apartment was very neat and spacious with lovely comfortable beds. Wonderful sea view. No briquette braai facilities on the stoepie. The kitchen was very poorly equipped. Only 4 of each - literally 4 teaspoons. There is room for a dishwasher, but there is none. The hotel does not offer the option of cleaning services at all. You may also not get someone from outside to come and clean - this is not permissible. The building is very noisy. Everything echoes. Slamming doors. Very poor ventilation in the bedrooms. The parking area is very impractical. We lived on the fourth floor. Our parking was on the 4th floor outside. There is no parallel entrance between the parking area and your floor where you live. You have to drop down to the third floor again to enter the building. The stairs in the parking area are closed for use, so you have to walk in the road where the cars drive to get to the third floor entrance. With luggage or shopping it is inconvenient. We have been standing in the outside parking lot at the third floor entrance all week. Your pram and your car are also far removed from each other, because pram parking is again only on the third floor. We paid a good price per night as I booked over a year in advance, but I will not book these apartments again in the future. I wouldn't really recommend it either considering all the factors that are important to me for holiday comfort.
A very quick and convenient way to boom your holidays, they send you reminders the day before check-in and their staff are very helpful and friendly, and Diaz Hotel is a must stay.
I always enjoy staying in Diaz Hotel. I prefer room service especially if I'm tired from driving and then arrive hot and hungry. This time there was apparently no one to bring the drink up. Just the guy on duty at the bar. It was a bit of a disappointment as room service should always be available. Otherwise delicious!
Some of the items on inventory list were gone and not replaced. Pipes were leaking and nobody did anything about it. Shower head not working properly. Bed linen not changed after 4 days. Only after 8 days and a lot of complaining.
We have already booked our accommodation for December 2018 a year in advance. Unforeseen circumstances forced us to shorten our stay by 3 of the 10 days. The arrangements around reduced days were less pleasant and a frustration to get arranged.

I would not stay anywhere else in Mossel Bay than the Diaz Hotel and Resort. The location is perfect and there are activities for young and old! What was very convenient is that you don't even have to leave the Diaz Hotel at all, there is access to the beach or a swimming pool, a restaurant, Pirates Cocktail Bar where you can enjoy drinks with a beautiful view! Diaz Hotel and Resort is truly an all-in-one!

When you unlock the room, you are greeted by the amazing view of the ocean. Open the door and you hear, see and smell the wonder of nature. Enjoyed a delicious breakfast and also incorporated a chat with the chef through his interaction with the guests. Only negative was the pillows which were a bit "mushy" but the rest...excellent.
The place was very neat. Nice stay. Just had to go and buy towels, because the hotel does not provide towels at the self-catering units. Also there was no WiFi as indicated which was a bit disappointing.

Was a nice experience - would like to stay longer in the future. Décor is beautiful! Place is clean. They just have a very long and comprehensive list of what it would cost if something in the flat were to break or get lost, or if you check in or out late. It makes you tread very extra carefully. Not so nice to see so many rules on arrival. But it probably depends on how you look at it - if you look after the place well you don't have to worry about it, and if you were to break something the cost would not be a surprise. All in all - great place.

Very good location, very safe. Close to everything. However, our beach club apartment no 1005 had a very funny smell that we had to complain about a few times. The fridge was not on when we got there. We struggled with the front door's lock and also went to talk about it several times. Hot water tap in the kitchen does not work, toilet in master bedroom is connected to hot water.
The view is fantastic, especially for a Johannesburger who is used to only buildings around her. The friendly reception from the staff is top notch. Would definitely recommend it.

We had a really nice stay. Buffet breakfast was delicious in the morning. Room was always clean and tidy. Only problem was the terribly slow WiFi connection, but otherwise very good value for money.
Here were our frustrations: Glass door closed between hotel and Beachclub. No sign to say use a small door on the side. Very frustrating standing in the rain to get the receptionist's attention to open the door. Bed lamp's connection very dangerous. Only after day 2 did they send someone to fix it. The kitchen sink area stank because the dishwasher's drain pipe was completely open. We just put a plastic bag in there. They should have told us or warned us that they were going to fumigate the apartment. The place stank so much, we had to sleep in the living room with the sliding door open that night. We were told there was WiFi in the rooms. There isn't. The kitchen bin was not emptied for 5 days. Bedrooms are very dark, even in the middle of the day. From last Wednesday there are people shouting in the corridors after midnight. It was very uncomfortable.
It's a beautiful place, nice with the hot pool almost on the same premises. I understood that the hotel guests could use it as part of the stay, but I must have misunderstood. The service at the restaurant on the ground floor is poor, but the food is good value for money. The breakfast was very good.
Some small changes can change the hotel for the better.
We had to park outside the parking area at times. Also an issue at night when the kids wanted to go out, no direct entrance to hotel from parking area. Air conditioning is not negotiable.
For 7 out of 8 days and nights mid December 2017, in the only 3 star beachfront hotel, we had no water in the honeymoon suite on the 11th floor. No offer was made by management to move us to a suite on the lower floors. The maintenance manager's attitude was conceited and was rumoured to be ridiculing the guests whom placed poor reviews on the hotel website. What would you expect if you had to buy water from the convenience store to flush the toilet in the suite you paid for, which included water and electricity? The hotel deserves three stars because of its staff only.
Expected much more and expected much better service when I have to compare the value against places stayed in the area and maybe against places in the same industry. But LekkeSlaap definitely again, but not just Diaz.
First time in Mossel Bay. Will definitely come back to Diaz Hotel, staff friendly and helpful. Keep it up.

The accommodation was unbeatable. The rooms were clean and neat, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Fantastic breakfast buffet and perfect service at the restaurants on the premises. Perfect location - just a few steps and you are on the beach. I can recommend this hotel to anyone. Only little issue was that the covered parking doesn't have any visible security, but we didn't feel that our vehicle was unsafe at any time.
We booked for 3 days initially but we decided to stay the extra night and the friendly receptionist made it happen immediately. Fantastic breakfast every morning and there was a buffet meal on the Wednesday. The entire experience was outstanding.

The perfect location for an amazing holiday experience. Right on the beach front with all amenities right on your doorstep. Definitely to be recommended.The only sort of negative thing is the parking area which is away from the hotel, but still not a deal breaker. A suggestion, please provide pen and paper in the rooms.
If you ever want to take a quick vacation on your way back to the Cape from a wedding in Knysna, feel free to stay in the Diaz hotel. The view over the sea is exceptional and the location of the hotel is perfect. You can stand on your porch and drink coffee while you hear children playing on your right side on the water worm and if you look in front of you the people are lying in rows on the beach. At first I thought it was a bit expensive, but after my time there I didn't feel bad at all about spending just that little bit more.
I think the hotel is good value for money, but it is obvious that the place needs a bit of care.
We had a great time in Mossel Bay and the location of the Diaz Hotel meant that we were in the middle of all the action. It is so convenient to walk out of your hotel in the morning and be on the Beach for an early morning walk, followed by a long, drawn out relaxed breakfast in the dining room with the best view of the bay. Afterwards you can relax by the pool, go to the beach or do something in the area. The rooms were comfortable and it was easy to order room service. The hotel offers value for money, and everything was neat and comfortable.
