The air conditioning works very well. The outside area is also neat and beautiful. We regretted that we didn't have meat for the braai, because the braai area is just so beautiful and you would have so much fun there. Safe environment. Definitely value for money. I travelled solo for the Augrabies Falls Klipspringer Challenge and spent 2 days after the race at Die Akker. What an incredibly lovely surprise. Very neat, well-furnished, clean, quiet and centrally located. Perfect to explore Kenhardt/Kakamas/Keimoes and all the surrounding treasures. Stunning hospitality and every need was catered for. I won't stay anywhere else in future.

The Akker Guest House is the perfect overnight stop! We got there at dusk, with the fire already packed with the free wood and everything nicely set up for a braai. Inside the cottage it is tastefully furnished with a sweet wine soup and raisins to welcome you. The bedding and towels were soft, luxurious and warm and there is even a bag with plasters and other small items in case you forgot. Delicious filter coffee and biscuits and even porridge for the children meant that we could drive quite a distance before having to stop again for dinner. Trudie is so friendly and hospitable and I can't give her anything less than full marks for this cute place!
A wonderful oasis from Pretoria on the way to Hondeklip Bay. Even better on the way back to Pretoria. We booked both chalets, my wife and I stayed with old friends from Sweizer Renecke at Die Akker Guesthouse. Plenty of wood was available and everything in the chalets was top quality.

What wonderful reception. We were on our way to the falls early morning and decided to check quickly seeing as how we had to drive past Die Akker. They were hearty with their reception and we could offload our luggage. The aircon was immediately switched on to cool down the chalet and ran the whole day until we got back from the falls at 18:30. It was 44 degrees outside at 17:30. Thanks for a beautiful oasis.

The sink was clogged and there was no soap or shampoo. Food is open and full of flies. Bedding does not fit the extra bed. No effort was made to make sure everything was in order. An extra bed was left for us to make up.

The open-plan living area consists of a TV with selected DStv channels, a well-equipped kitchen, and a small dining table with chairs.
