18 guests' feedbackWe left from Kathu on June 16th. It's very far but believe me it was worth it. I was able to show my wife and 7-year-old son where I was born 45 years ago in Zastron. Lots of old memories and all. To the hospital. The cabin was stunning and true to The Flintstones period. The history of the 18th century hut is equally interesting. Liandri and Dirkie thank you very much. We also drove the Lundeans Nek Pass to Rhodes.
Something very different from the normal. Rest and silence, nature. Beautiful surroundings. Hiking trails - quite challenging. Someone who likes comfort, electricity, is afraid of bugs and spiders should not come. This is for a select tourist (like us).
Hiking️ trail is excellent.
All I can say is: "a once in a lifetime experience".
Just be careful, there is a lot of spiders, did not like that so much but again you are in the mountains so it's probably normal. But overall we really enjoyed our stay and the host are so helpful and friendly.
Lovely, secluded, too nice to feel like cavemen.
Children climbed and scrambled until they fell.
Berghut has nothing luxury. Work with gas and candles. But if you want to rest and really meet your family again there is enough time for proper communication and there is no better place than the mountain hut. As for the cabin, the quality time with your family is worth a thousand percent more than any 5-star hotel. Will definitely go back there again.
Peaceful nature where you can gain strength and just become human again.
Very nice stay! Wonderful people, professional and friendly. Clean, tidy and everything we needed. Nice walk, warm water and what a view!
Our experience of nature and feeling of freedom was so special. There are, however, a few points that need attention: 1) There was no hot water. Despite the gas geyser, the water was too cold. 2) They need to improve rodent control. 3) Hikers need to be informed beforehand about the route's difficulty level. The route from Swaan 44 down to down below is not clearly signposted. There is no trail. The vegetation down the hill is well established. If the trail was only walked long ago, hikers need to be informed. 'n Guide would also help. 4) The rates need to be reconsidered. R1000 for 2 people for 2 nights under these circumstances is not acceptable.
Very simple with only the essentials, but incredibly clean and tidy. In the middle of nothing and nowhere. The natural beauty that surrounds you is breathtaking and the peace and quiet you experience without power and cell phone signal is only good for the soul. The hosts are some of the most wonderful people we have ever encountered in such a place and we look forward to visiting again.
Thank you very much for a very pleasant experience.
We really enjoyed our stay at the mountain hut. The location couldn't be better and the walking path is a nice activity to keep you busy. Will definitely visit again.
It was wonderful, the nature was green and very beautiful and the hospitality was something you don't get every day. I will definitely go again.
Lintie and Arend very friendly and hospitable. Great stay. We had a great time.
It is an ideal place to get away from the city. It's just hopelessly expensive if you are more than 2 people. This does not justify per person rates, but a daily amount for the cabin. It's also too small for 4 people/beds.
