240 guests' feedbackWe booked into Die Blou Nartjie following a newspaper review months ago and were happy we did. The in-house restaurant is excellent and well-priced, our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The duty manager was excellent. Based on our stay, we would recommend it to friends.
It is such a convenient place to stay on our way home from the Kgalagadi, and to have the restaurant on the premises makes it even more so. The fact that breakfast is included is a great start to the next leg of our journey!
We stayed at Die Blou Nartjie for two nights, the evening of the 7th of October and what was originally supposed to be the evening of the 11th. However, our plans changed and the Nartjie team was accommodating to move our place to the 12th of October without any problems. When I got there on the afternoon of the 12th, they again helped us move from a single room to the apartment, which helped us a lot with the small children. Dinner was brought straight to our room by Anthony and his team at the restaurant. Incredibly good and friendly service, with nothing too much trouble! See you again!
After a bumpy trip from Clanwilliam through Botterkloof Pass, we were warmly welcomed and shown to our cozy cottage, where we had a short rest, then ended with a delicious meal of Karoo lamb chops.
Delicious food served at the restaurant where the staff are very friendly and helpful (dietary requirements), as well as having a friendly chat with Martha and her brother.
We have often eaten here but never stayed. Great room. Very comfortable and well equipped. Friendly reception.
It was our 2nd stay in the Blou Nartjie and was just as nice as before!
Very comfortable and clean units. Lovely, peaceful atmosphere. Everything you need is there. Owner is very friendly and helpful. Delicious meals at the 'In Huis' restaurant.
Fantastic stay, the staff are friendly, the accommodation is comfortable and the restaurant food is delicious. We will recommend Die Blou Nartjie to anybody. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
Excellent, hospitable, beautiful place.
We had brought up our departure from the Cape due to the bad weather, and Die Blou Nartjie accommodated us by accommodating us two days earlier. Friendly reception, slept well and had an excellent dinner. Note: Rooms are excellently equipped against the cold.
Very comfortable accommodation. Friendly reception and staff.
We were pleasantly impressed with the layout of the guest house. Rooms were comfortable and the delicious dinner & breakfast was just a bonus.
We were a group of 5 adults who stayed one night at the Blou Nartjie. We had dinner, which was top notch. The next morning's breakfast was delicious before we hit the road to the Western Cape. The hospitality of the staff was a pleasant surprise.
See stars.
We have been there before too, would recommend it.
Still the best lamb chops in SA.
Had a great time and slept over.
Delicious food. Slept very nice and warm. Was able to explore the town.
Nice setup. Good friendly service. The restaurant is a hit.
Pleasant. Great dinner with warm fireplace.
Had a great stay and had a nice meal at their restaurant.
Was warmly received and room was ready and spotless.
We always eat well in their restaurant.
Friendly, welcoming staff, good food.
Comfy and convenient.
Very pleasant and friendly.
Comfortable overnight place. Not all the channels of the DStv worked (e.g. couldn't catch M-Net), but since I only stayed one night, it didn't really bother me. Feel free to have dinner in their restaurant!
The unit we stayed in was quite cramped and could have been better equipped. It was clean though.
It was fantastic. Neat, clean, comfortable and just fabulous in general.
Very nice neat facilities. Very friendly owners and fantastic food. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Very impressed.
It is located within walking distance of the centre of town, but not close enough to hear all the noise. The room is comfortable, clean, and spacious. Parking is behind a locked gate and outside your room. The onsite restaurant serves good food at market-related prices, and the staff are friendly and helpful.
The food was delicious and the staff friendly and efficient. Thank you. We will visit there again.
We felt very safe with our vehicle parked behind an electronic gate overnight. The dinner at the restaurant was delicious. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was delicious.
Will definitely go back there and recommend it to all flower travelers!
Good service, neat, clean and safe.
Yes the accommodation was of a great standard and exactly what you pay for. We will always stay there in Calvinia.
Delicious food and cozy atmosphere.
Rooms are clean and very comfortable, car is safely behind locked gates and the restaurant is fabulous — great little spot and a firm favourite. Hosts are lovely. We will always stay here when travelling in this part of the world.
We enjoyed it very much, just like the previous times.
Bonus was the delicious meal at the Blou Nartjie's restaurant.
Although room 9 is not advertised as a wheelchair accessible and wheelchair friendly accommodation, the room and bathroom worked very well with our daughter (who is wheelchair bound).
Upon arrival we were kindly received. Room was neat. Air conditioning was a bonus as it was very cold. The restaurant was great.
Animal friendly and peaceful.
Best restaurant in the Great Karoo.
It was a lovely surprise. The town is beautiful, the accommodation was out of the books and the dinner was amazing! We will definitely visit again!
Very neat and clean. Delicious food.
Very safe and quite after a long drive. A visit to the restaurant a must.
Peaceful surroundings and delicious dinner.
Room was great and restaurant (dinner and breakfast) of excellent quality. Great professional hospitality.
We took dinners. Quality was very good one day, not the next.
We had a great stay and ate at the restaurant. Everything was neat, clean and safe.
Previously stayed there. Very comfortable well run family business.
Good rooms, nice restaurant, safe parking and nice breakfast.
Had a great time in the restaurant.
We often stay in the quiet and tidy accommodation.
We had a pleasant room and the restaurant was a good place for supper.
Beautiful country accommodation with all facilities needed. And a cute restaurant.
Very nice stay. Will only suggest microwave and basic cutlery (plates, knife and forks). Maybe a play area for the little ones. Area around pool is limited and quickly overcrowded.
Dinner was nice. Lamb shanks with mash and a Greek salad.
Dinner at on-site restaurant was of the best quality.
The restaurant on site was a nice bonus.
Nice stay, safe parking, very good food, friendly staff.
Service was disappointing.
It was a quick one night stay on the way to Gordons Bay and it was refreshing to hit the road again the next day.
Als was neat and clean. Everyone goes out of their way for you.
Neat and clean. Very friendly host and hostess. Restaurant on site has delicious food. In a very beautiful, historic setting.
Large, spacious room. Breakfast included. They pack breakfast when you drive early. Everything is just 100 percent right and we are having a good time. Restaurant is a bonus. Food fantasies and at your place of residence.
Neat room with everything needed. No wifi password available in room.
Had a wonderful stay with great dinning experience.
The staff was very friendly. The food is delicious, portions are large and affordable. Will definitely stay there again.
The staff were very friendly and we felt welcome.
As always, Die Blou Nartjie did not disappoint. A warm welcome, the rooms were clean, tidy and the detail in the rooms is incredible. The staff are all friendly and very helpful. The dinner was incredibly delicious with a very nice atmosphere. The breakfast was delicious. Everything was perfect.

Just watch out for the aircon outside room 9. My husband cut his head open badly against the frame.
Lovely and hospitable. Good food and pleasant environment.
We have stayed here three time and will do so again.
The place has such a farm atmosphere and no road noise from vehicles. The meals served and recommended by the restaurant are top notch and also at affordable prices. The owners and service staff are friendly and on their job all the time. Definitely a nice place to stay.
Friendly staff and you just feel at home. Clean rooms with good bedding. We could watch the Springbok rugby matches in our room ourselves. Restaurant's food was delicious. Secure parking. Will be back again.
The Blou Nartjie is very well located, the units are very clean and tidy and also well equipped. The owners are friendly and helpful and the meals in the restaurant were delicious.
Nice that you can eat there too!
Clean, secure parking inside, friendly staff, lovely. Will stay there again and again.
Our second stay and will be back in future and recommend to all our friends.
We slept over at Die Blou Nartjie and found it very pleasant. It was also interesting to hear where the name came from.
The restaurant is fantastic.
Very comfortable safe and quiet. An excellent restaurant with delicious food.
Friendly hosts, and a nice old building.
Very accommodating of our request to have food delivered to our rooms as we were traveling with our elderly parents. Delicious food and warm hospitality. Blankets looked like they could have been laundered. The rest of the cottage was very comfortable and clean. Highly recommend Die Blou Nartjie.
Nice comfortable rooms with coffee and tea facilities as well as biscuits. The restaurant is excellent and the breakfast delicious.
We found everything very good, and the only negative comment is that the shower cubicle door looks directly onto the bedroom and does not offer any privacy.
Very nice and nice place to visit. Excellent service. Everything works perfectly.
Our room looked out to the open Karoo landscape which felt like being on a farm. The restaurant is fabulous and the food is top class. A very enjoyable experience in all respects.
Very cute, original name. People are very hospitable and the restaurant makes the tastiest fries I've ever tasted. Just make sure you reserve a table. The place is very popular.
For travelers who have a long drive behind them, the availability of dinner is very beneficial. The Blue Nartjie fulfills this need.
Quiet environment and safe parking. Nice food at the restaurant and convenient to also enjoy breakfast there.
Restaurant has delicious dinner and breakfast.
We arrived during load shedding. There was no light in the room. No one helped us manage load shedding. Notice could be sent that we, we had to prepare for load shedding.
Convenient for an overnight stop over.
They forget to make our take away breakfast. Would have preferred the bun to be toasted.
Dirty bedding, found an open condom packet in the bed. The mosquitoes carried us away and there was no mosquito repellent available in the rooms. There was one old single cherry for loadshedding but no matches. We will not sleep with them again.
We found items in our room that made it clear the room had not been properly cleaned. A light for loadshedding and Peaceful Sleep for the mosquitoes was also not provided.
Guesthouse was unaware of my booking and immediately blamed the website.
No water pressure in shower in the morning.
The reception on arrival was not very friendly and gave more the impression that we were disturbing the woman. I also had to ask for a mop because our floor was very dirty and it was washed by myself as the cleaner when I asked for the mop said they were running now and with difficulty took the mop out for me. When we wanted to eat at the accommodation's restaurant which is on our reservation and doesn't mention having to book in advance, the woman told us that we have to book in advance and they are full. She was not bothered at all whether her guests had somewhere to eat for the evening or not or whether another plan could be made. There are no other eateries or take-aways in Calvinia. I would expect her to accommodate the overnight guests for dinner first. We were also not prepared with other food as according to reservation we would eat there in the evening. We also did not receive the room that was booked (10). Extremely poor, unprofessional and disappointed.
Food at restaurant was great, but that was it. The entire family unit was infested with mosquitos, smelled of cat urine on all furniture in the lounge, and no provision was made to cater for load shedding which is inexcusable after all this time. There is a gas stove in the unit, but it isn't connected to gas so we could not boil water during load shedding to make tea/coffee. No candles or any lighting was provided for the load shedding. Every place I have stayed in the last 2 years has provided candles or battery-powered lights for these events. No one at reception when we checked at 07:00. Reception was still locked up. Very very disappointed with this stay.
Can definitely recommend the dinner and breakfast - great value for money.
From the time we booked we were kept informed, forwarded location and contacted again on day of check in. Room was modern, well appointed and clean. Dinner and breakfast were very tasty, and value for money.
Neat, clean and friendly service.
Full DStv in the room is a bonus.
We have a fantastic time at Die Blou Nartjie! Dinner was great. The family run establishment is lovely.
Everything neat and clean. Staff is very friendly. Dinner and breakfast were delicious.
It's a characterful guest house with a good atmosphere and delicious breakfast. Everything in the room was comfortable and tidy.
The facility is clean with a warm feel. The people are friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious and included. We also had dinner there. The one place where they could perhaps improve is the food. Lamb shank is the best seller but is a bit tasteless in my opinion.
We had a great time at Die Blou Nartjie. Friendly staff. Delicious food.
Excellent, friendly service and superb food.
The rooms are well equipped and spacious and comfortable. There is a restaurant available on the premises, delicious menu.
The restaurant's food is of high quality. The rooms are very well equipped and everything you need e.g. need for an evening. The restaurant is on site which is a bonus. No one has to drive again in the evening to go eat. The restaurant's food is of high quality and very friendly service was provided. Will definitely stay here again.
Truly a wonderful relaxing overnight stop. Our puppy was with us and she was welcomed with open arms. Never drive past the gem again.
Well appointed rooms, secure parking and friendly staff at a very affordable rate. Very good restaurant on site.
Nice meal in the Restaurant.
We are very satisfied with the service received.

Our room was very comfortable and we were very happy to park on the secure premises as we were towing a caravan. We will definitely stay there again and recommend to all our friends and family.
We were kindly received by Antony who moved us to other rooms to give us enough space for parking for our large car and buggy. The room and bathroom were very spacious, clean and bed very comfortable. We chose delicious peasant food for dinner. Breakfast was also very nice.
Clean, peaceful accommodation and delicious food.
The rooms are beautiful and clean. Modern, but the water pressure in the shower is bad. The meals in the restaurant are delicious and highly recommendable. The WiFi is disappointing - login and password are only valid for 2 hours, not good enough. The pool is part of private property, but may be used by guests, but was dirty (green bottom) and there was a turtle swimming - unacceptable for guests to swim.
Restaurant on site food is excellent. My only complaint is that the front door mat was very dirty, as if the garbage from the floor had been wiped on it. Value for money. Restaurant service very good.
Dinner in the restaurant is an opportunity to experience some brilliant cooking - the lamb chops are exceptional.
It was very convenient to be able to have dinner at the on-site restaurant. The food was delicious!
The restaurant is highly recommended for dinner - the boere-pizza and the lamb chops are both excellent.
The place and service is absolutely amazing with no faults. The only thing I've noticed is wear and tear on little things and I would just caution against things getting out of hand, regular and small maintenance is recommended. Also advise making open WiFi available to guests, like most lodges.
Always a friendly welcome. Everything was right and clean. The restaurant is on site and then there is the big breakfast which is included in the price.
Everything was good except for smaller detail. There were no glasses for drinking water in the room. Water in the taps is not drinkable and therefore it would be a good service to provide bottled water (even if the customer pays for it).
The on-site restaurant is very convenient for dinner. We enjoyed a delicious dinner.
I would not consider Calvinia as a holiday destination unless we were visiting family, but it is not bad as a stopover to break a road trip and recharge before continuing your journey.
See stars.
Friendly hosts, no unnecessary issues. Room clean and comfortable. Pleasant environment.
Accommodation is equipped with all needed. Clean and comfortable.
Beautiful accommodation and restaurant. No. 2 room's shower water just took a long time to drain. Couldn't eat breakfast due to power being off.
Had a great time with neat rooms and good service. Would only suggest that the construction debris and garden waste at the back of the premises, as well as the clothesline, are hidden a bit, so that guests in especially the back rooms do not have to look into them.
Can recommend them anytime.
The restaurant is authentic and the food is fragrant and traditional, tasty, with large portions. They go out of their way to accommodate guests who are late or early and listen to needs. The guesthouse's hostess/husband didn't even see us. But the business is family owned and therefore they rely heavily on Herman's personality. He can sort everything out and is friendly and the ideal person for the industry. The rooms need some attention with closet doors that don't close and toilet lids that slam on the unexpected visitor. Generally neat and clean and staff are friendly and helpful. To recommend.
There was also a very nice breakfast with the overnight stay.
The Blou Naartjie has everything you need for a quick overnight stay as well as a longer stop. Of course the restaurant is an absolute bonus. We have been eating there for 3 years but have slept at other accommodation because we were not aware that there are also overnight facilities. Will definitely do it again in the future. We just missed the ribs on the menu.
Very good service, best food and clean rooms. Will always spend the night there.
The rooms have aircon and TV and for the price it is really good value. Having a restaurant on the premises also adds to the appeal.
My wife and I had a very comfortable and pleasant stay at Die Blou Nartjie. The service was excellent and all staff were extremely efficient and helpful. We had a great dinner in the restaurant and would not hesitate to recommend Die Blou Nartjie to other visitors to Calvinia.
The accommodation is, as always, wonderful. Spacious tastefully furnished rooms with everything you could possibly need. Big soft beds with the best linens after a long journey. A fridge and coffee and tea station with a biscuit when you wake up with only the sounds of birds around you. And my husband just enjoys some bird species in the back garden that he doesn't see everyday in the city.
Are you looking for a lovely bed with good linen on your way to the Northern Cape or Namibia - plus a nice plate and safe parking? The Blou Nartjie is your place, for sure!
Neat and clean room. We slept well in a comfortable clean bed after a long day on the road. Secure parking behind electric security gate. Restaurant on site, 5 star service and delicious food and friendly staff. Breakfast the next morning was deliciously hot in the rain and cold. Would definitely recommend Die Blou Nartjie to anyone. Good value for money!
The service was particularly good, breakfast delicious and a delicious restaurant on site where we could eat and hang out!
I would definitely recommend the place. The service is great and the food is delicious. Price is very reasonable for what you receive.
We had very good service. Staff were friendly.
Breakfast was included and everything was delicious after a long day on the road!
Very nice, will definitely go again.
Our reception was friendly and we didn't have to wait to be helped. The rooms were clean and tidy with everything we needed. The meals in the restaurant were tasty and the waiters' service was very good. Breakfast was included and nicely served.
Surprisingly modern rooms in contrast to historic restaurant built from 1820.
See rating.
Thanks so much, the accommodation and food was fantastic, would stay here again!

Friendly staff.
Thanks for the breakfast and road food treat!
Had a lovely stay and the staff catered to all our needs.
Nice place to spend the night. Friendly people. Great atmosphere.
Pleasant stay and central in town. Delicious restaurant on site.
Guest house is presented neatly and professionally.
Hotel with restaurant, is therefore easy to drive after one day.
Had a delicious dinner and breakfast. Food truly exceptional. Bed slightly disappointing, with 2 children, (12 and 6) as indicated with our booking, it was very uncomfortable for them on the pull out sofa. I think our unit was just too small for 4 people.
The units are clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great. Nice restaurant.
See stars.
Comfortable room, we have stayed here before so we were hoping that the restaurant would be open. Unfortunately it was closed on a Sunday.
Enjoyed delicious meals in the Blou Nartjie's restaurant. Great service and good food even though it was very busy. Apartment was tidy but linen and towels need attention. Units are connected by a door and keep out no sound, but could be convenient if a family were to stay there and book both rooms. For foreigners, however, it is not so pleasant.
Pleasant arrival, we shorted a lead for our camper trailer due to our lead not being long enough. The host was happy to lend us one of their leads which was long enough to connect our trailer to our room. Delicious barbecue in the evening, very neat rooms with the cleanest towels. Thank you very much for all their efforts with us. Breakfast the next morning was great with extra personal attention, thank you very much ma'am! After a nice chat we were back on the main road on our way to Elands Bay. Would definitely recommend you guys!
Very satisfied, will stay here again for sure.
Nice, calm, relaxing place in a great position in town, room clean and well maintained. Staff friendly and I wish I had eaten at the restaurant, food sounded great. My choice was perfect for my stay.
I have been staying at the Nartjie for 3 years and can still recommend it for good, friendly service. You almost feel like family. The on-site restaurant offers delicious food.
Highly recommend Blue Nartjie. Even though we were very late everyone was friendly and they still made us food. Very cosy place.
Wow, an amazing stop-over. Clean and comfortable. The food at the restaurant was one of the best meals we've eaten in a long time.
Offers comfortable overnight facilities. Only pity restaurant is closed on Sundays. Calvinia does not offer many options for alternative dining.
I felt safe, comfortable and at peace.
Die Blou Nartjie is an excellent stopover hotel, with good parking and is well placed in central Calvinia, a small town with plenty of history. Their restaurant is very good and therefore quite popular in the evenings, be sure to book.
Very good. Well located and good restaurant.
Had a very pleasant stay. The room was spacious and clean and a small verandah so you sit outside and enjoy the fresh air. The restaurant was also good and the food tasty. We were made to feel at home and everyone was friendly. A very enjoyable stay.
We were spoiled by the entire staff and can testify to cleanliness, good taste throughout with the little things that make a difference to make your stay really enjoyable.
A big thank you to the Blou Naartjie! It was yet again very pleasant. In case you have to sleep here you must visit the restaurant, the food is incredible!
We are regular visitors at the Blou Nartjie and every time we are very satisfied with the accommodation, service and delicious food in the restaurant. All this in a pleasant and safe environment. Will definitely come again.
A clean and un-fussy spot close to the center of town. The restaurant has great steaks and lamb (definitely recommended) it’s just a pity the restaurant is not open on Sunday evenings. Breakfast was fresh, generous and tasty. The rooms are simple and clean and the beds were comfortable.
The main building's history, an old Jewish synagogue, dates back to the 1920s and has been beautifully restored. The breakfast served was also excellent!
We were welcomed with enthusiasm. Our room was clean, neat and tidy. Ideal for a stay over. Although the restaurant section was closed it looked homely and comfy for a meal. Nice facilities for sitting outside and relaxing. We felt relaxed and safe in this environment. Well located within walking distance from several alternative restaurants. I would stay again when passing through.
The accommodation was very nice, clean and tidy. The area where it is located is also very quiet and peaceful. However, we were only disappointed that the restaurant was not open as I specifically made the reservation with them because they had a restaurant on site. Apparently it was for improvements then, but I had already made the reservation on July 1st so there was plenty of time to inform us that they were planning to renovate it in December. I could have made a different reservation then. Although there was a braai available behind the unit, there isn't any cutlery on washing up facilities in the unit so we only had some of the snacks we had left in the car for dinner that night.
Was clean, but bedding was broken, holes in it, also too little coffee in the rooms for 2 guests. We got 2 coffee packets and one tea bag every night, not even coffee and milk for next morning. It was like that on both nights we stayed there.
See stars.
The Blue Nartjie made me feel right at home! It was really a very pleasant stay! Very clean and tidy and nice and quiet at night. I appreciate the air conditioning, the bar fridge, the nice shower and the DStv!
Friendly service, very good value for money.
Very friendly welcome, you just feel at ease. Rooms are neat and spacious with all the amenities one would expect. The restaurant is top notch and will definitely stop there again. Thank you very much, we appreciate it.
We enjoyed our overnight stay at Die Blou Nartjie. Very friendly, clean and comfortable. Restaurant serves an awesome lamb pie and breakfast was delicious. Although not serious, the bathroom/shower needs upgrading.
We recommend the Blue Nartjie with confidence. The main building is a gem with beautiful authentic wooden frames and window sills that have been tastefully restored to their original glory. The staff are cordial and professional throughout and the food was exactly what we were craving: tasty Karoodisses. We will definitely make this our preferred guest house for all future visits to Calvinia.
Excellent overnight accommodation, very well equipped and a great breakfast included.
Wonderful, friendly and hospitable owner, Marta. Room was exceptionally clean ─ crisp linen and very comfortable bed. Could not fault it. Dining was in a cosy, fire warmed room and food was very good. A really good find in every respect.
Great variety of rooms to stay in. Your vehicle is safe. The restaurant offers a good variety of dishes to choose from. The staff are particularly kind and helpful and made us as guests feel very welcome. I will definitely stay there again when I travel there again.
Beautiful surroundings and warm service.
Would highly recommend it. The people are so hospitable. The accommodation was 5 star.
Our expectations were exceeded with a very friendly reception. The room has everything we needed and is nice and spacious. Dinner and breakfast were more than expected! Thank you very much!
The accommodation and the food were fantastic. I will stay there again for sure.
Very friendly reception. Well equipped.
We were received friendly and hospitable. Everything was in place and tidy. We had a great meal in the restaurant and the breakfast was also delicious.
After a long and exhausting journey, we were received very kindly. The unit was tidy and met all our expectations. The on-site restaurant was a plus, because after a long journey you don't feel like looking for a restaurant with good food. The food was of high quality. Will definitely stay again at Die Blou Nartjie.
Perfect location, good value for money, clean and tidy rooms, good food and lots of hospitality! The recipes for great time out!
Hospitable friendly environment, centrally located. Highly recommend.
Nice and clean room. Very quiet. Very friendly hosts. Good breakfast and great diner. All in all we were very satisfied.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Die Blou Nartjie. Even though it was freezing and wet, the room was warm. We were disappointed that the restaurant was closed, but understandable. Everything was lovely. If there is 1 thing I would possibly change (no emergency) it would be the red. Martha was an extremely hospitable host. We will definitely stay there again.
Breakfast and dinner were absolutely delicious!
The excellent restaurant on site is a big plus.
Always neat accommodation and stay is pleasant.
The facilities were clean and tidy with delicious meals in the restaurant. Everything was also very reasonably priced.
Nice accommodation, good restaurant, nice town with shops and old village house opposite a nice church.
Nice accommodation option and central.
Very neat and delicious food!
On our way to attend a funeral in Upington we were fortunate to find a vacancy at Die Blou Nartjie. The reception was good, the room very clean and comfortable and the meals excellent. The kitchen and cleaning staff were so friendly and polite, I commented to my husband that this was typical of Northern Cape hospitality - nothing was too much trouble. On the return journey we spent the night there again, and were received as old friends.Thank you all.
Although everything was neat and the service was friendly and the food was very nice, they didn't provide safe parking. Somebody broke into our vehicle and stole some valuables during the night.
You immediately felt welcome when you arrived. The hostess is incredibly friendly and helpful and so hospitable. The rooms are very special and make you feel at home. The restaurant and the food are top notch and we had an amazing time there and enjoyed ourselves. Will definitely visit there again.
House has everything one could need. Will definitely stay there again. Can definitely recommend restaurant!
Excellent service, very good food, very comfortable and clean rooms, good value for money.
Friendly reception and restaurant was pleasant.
Was perfect place for overnight after KTP.
Everything was excellent. And always worth the trouble!
See rating.
Our reception at the Blou Nartjie was hospitable. The meals that are served were truly value for money and more than enough and deliciously prepared. The management as well as the staff are always friendly and helpful. We can really recommend Die Blou Nartjie to anyone needing to travel through Calvinia.
Die Blou Naartjie is an oasis in Calvinia. Rooms are clean and safe, mansion is beautiful, stylish and the service was great. Everything you expect from a guest house. The kitchen and food -both dinner (ordered in advance) and breakfast were excellent. 'n Great place to overnight.
The rooms are comfy and well equipped. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The restaurant serves delicious, yet pricey meals. When the restaurant is full the waiting period after you order is quite long.
Martha treated us to a warm reception and allowed us to check in before the stipulated time. We dined at the restaurant and were pleasantly surprised by the excellent food. Also, breakfast was delicious. Highly recommended.
The people at the Blou Nartjie are very friendly and the food in their restaurant is delicious. We spent the night there on our way to Cape Town and it was exactly what we needed.
Accommodation in Die Blou Nartjie was affordable and lovely. Delicious food at the restaurant on the premises. The only issue we had was the noise levels, the walls don't block out the noise so you hear what your neighbours say, which is a nuisance.
People are friendly, but not service minded. We asked for a takeaway breakfast due to an early departure the next morning. We are still waiting for the breakfast or communication from them.
We really enjoyed our stay and the rooms were well equipped, painstakingly neat and beautifully decorated. The small fridge in the room also came in handy as we were on our way to Kgalagadi and had perishable food with us. The dinner took a little long, but the food was delicious. Will definitely stay there again!
