The bed and the bedding can be upgraded. The bed is old, cracked, and the bedding is not what I expected for the price. The room has a smell, probably from the water pipes.

Rooms were immaculate and facilities very neat and tidy. Staff were very friendly and took care of all our requirements without any fuss or bother. Lovely swimming pool and braai facilities were excellent. All around a very satisfying and pleasant stay.

We slept there on the way to the Kruger National Park. Could also visit my sister and brother.
The rooms were exactly like the photos and very neat. The check-in and check-out process is very effective and the fact that each room is separate and therefore private counts 10/10 for us. Peaceful atmosphere with the water rippling all the time and we would recommend it to anyone.

The bath and shower towels are too small and insufficient. Constant barking of dogs on the adjoining property was disturbing, but was silenced by the hostess.

My husband and his two groomsmen got dressed there on the day of our wedding and took pictures. The service we received was top notch. Rooms and the whole premises are so nice and neat. Guests also slept very well. Thank you, Elsabe and team.

We were pleasantly surprised by how clean and tidy the rooms were and only regretted that we couldn't stay longer. We will definitely recommend this gem in Heidelberg to all our family, friends and colleagues, because you don't get this quality and service every day. As we were on our way to a wedding, it was not a problem for Elsabe that we had to check in before 2 o'clock, the rooms were ready and we slept well that night. This is really a guest house to recommend. Keep up the excellent service.
Easily found, neat, safe, helpful and friendly. Had a nice hot shower in the evening, but in the morning the hot water was lukewarm to cold. Not sure if geyser was on a timer, but would love to stay there again.
One problem though. The website indicates that breakfast is included, but on weekends Die Dorps-Akker does not offer breakfast. It should be pointed out on the website that weekends do not include breakfast and is the rate still the same then? However, Elsabe gave us a R50 discount, and we appreciate that.

Good for an overnight stay.
One of the reasons why I chose Die Dorps-Akker was for the heated swimming pool. After we arrived, we were informed that the pool was not heated due to a burst pipe. I would like to be informed about this. I also did not experience the hospitality that usually comes with a guest house experience at all. On arrival we were asked to settle the rest of the bill and were then informed what we had to do with the key on departure on Sunday. It was the first sight and the last sight of hostess.
Over priced, eg one bottle of water in the fridge, no biscuits for eg morning coffee.
Our stay was absolutely lovely. The neatness and the comfort of the units are very good. Elsabe, the contact person, was friendly and very helpful.
Very peaceful night after a long, busy day and a beautiful room with delicious coffee.
I will use Dorps-Akker again and most definitely recommend them.
This establishment is an ideal self-catering guesthouse. Well-equipped and very clean. The owner was very helpful and served a good breakfast if required. Will no doubt recommend to fellow travellers.
Very nice stay. Als was fine. The place was clean and tidy. Was worried about stuff I had to leave in the back of my van, but it was there the next morning.
Elsabe at Die Dorps-Akker Gastehuis is friendly, hospitable and helpful. It's just a pleasure to stay there. The rooms are clean and comfortable. I would recommend it to anyone. And the bonus is, you are received in Afrikaans which helps to make you feel at home.

We were received very kindly. The units are clean and tidy. It is in a quiet and peaceful environment; there was no traffic or other noise. The breakfast was delicious and truly value for money. I would recommend it for sure.
A very clean, peaceful guest house to recommend to anyone. Even a three-year-old toddler enjoyed the large lawn and water fountains. The rooms are spacious, clean and the service is great.
I appreciated the atmosphere and friendly welcome. I will stay here again next time I'm in your town.

Guesthouse in quiet area, safe, clean and tidy. Small, yet cozy and cosy.
Elsabe is very friendly and nice, however we often had to ask for the internet connection to be turned on. We also understood that breakfast was included, but it wasn't, bad on our first morning. The beds were very good, but slept very soundly. Only by the third night did we get used to sore hips in the morning. The nice big room was good and tidy, but next time will ask for a room away from the entrance door to the rooms, because with a young child we tried to sleep earlier than other guests who came in later after a nice visit. We can't complain anymore. It's a good stay for a few days!
