Although the environment in which Die Gewel is located does not necessarily make one feel particularly safe, we were comfortable staying here as 2 women. The place is beautiful, newly redone and everything was very neat and clean. The bathrooms are a lot more spacious than necessary, but of course that's nothing to complain about. The beds and pillows were comfortable and the linen of good quality and spotless. We only stayed for the night and Die Gewel was conveniently close enough to the main road and easy to find. The hostess gave us enough attention to make us feel at home and we had a good rest. Communication was quick, friendly and very clear. They made an effort to receive us later than the expected arrival time. The WiFi didn't work very well, but I didn't bother asking for help either because I could manage with my own mobile data. I would highly recommend The Gable to anyone. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your beautiful place!

Air conditioners in the room, a generator and gas plates. The place to stay is so beautiful, clean, tidy and modern. It was really like staying in a 5 star hotel, but only self catering.

The Gewel guest house offers all the necessary facilities for any traveler looking for an overnight stay. There is a generator that is switched on during load shedding, so no darkness. The unit we stayed in also had an air conditioner. Perfect, perfect, perfect! Very neat and clean.

The friendly welcome and the beautiful neatly equipped units are luxurious and tasteful, attention is paid to detail and guests are spoiled with little extras that we have not seen at other overnight places with our trip to Cape and back, the place gives more than value for money and I felt we could have paid more for what we got and experienced, the place is really "a cut above".

Lovely peaceful surroundings. Beautiful garden area. Loved it! The room was spacious, clean, and had everything we needed. I'm short and did find getting things in and out of the microwave a bit difficult, especially as it had to be done at an angle and was a bit high for me. We so enjoyed relaxing in the garden after a day on the road. The hostess was there to meet us and was friendly and helpful. We did have a little trouble finding the premises even with our GPS but found it quickly after asking for directions. We would definitely stay there again.

We were very surprised when we walked in and saw all the luxuries. Everything has clearly been redone recently. There is every possible thing you need (also for loadshedding) and a lovely garden. Our dog really enjoyed it there too! Janet is very helpful and friendly!

The next day down south is just that much shorter! It's a lovely spacious apartment! We were even able to make coffee with load shedding on their gas stove - luckily we had our own kettle there. The shower's water only took a while to come through again after load shedding. But a lovely lovely overnight venue.

This has been the best overnight stop we’ve found in the area. The room we had was large and very accommodating. The kitchen has more than one needs and the bathroom huge, with a wonderful hot shower. The hostess, Janet, is very hospitable and attended to all our needs.
Janet is a wonderful hostess, she welcomed us kindly and made us feel very much at home. The rooms are luxuriously equipped and were particularly clean and tidy. It is always nice for us to spend the night somewhere where there are quality beds that will therefore ensure a good night's rest. Very comfortable recently renovated self-catering cottage with view of farmlands on the edge of town. Above average bathroom and kitchen facilities. A friendly welcome from our hostess. This is a most convenient stopover en route home from Kruger.

It was a wow for me and my wife in all respects that one expects from a guest house. Owners are very concerned and friendly. It was freezing cold on the road and the room's aircon was set nice and warm when we got there. It was a wonderful thought. We slept very well.
Best overnight stay we have found in a long time. Even though the town is neglected, Die Gewel is a diamond in the area. The patio in front of the room is great for relaxing. The residential unit is excellently planned and equipped. Would recommend this as an overnight stay option anytime.

I would recommend The Gables to any overnight travelers. The unit is too small for a longer stay.
We were very kindly received by Wayne and his wife. There is still quite a bit of construction going on, but it didn't bother me. The self-catering unit was neat, newly redone and well equipped. The running water creates a peaceful atmosphere. My only criticisms are the fact that parking is too far from the units (we had quite a lot to carry off - although Wayne offered to help). The Gewel Self-catering Guest House has a nice shaded braai area.
The owners, Wayne and Janet are very friendly, hospitable and gave us a warm welcome. The accommodation is very neat and beautifully equipped with all the necessities that one would need in a self-catering unit. Will definitely, if we travel that way again, stay at Die Gewel. We will definitely be able to recommend the accommodation.
