Anytime I prefer a place that is in nature. We had a lovely view of a patch of flowers on the other side of the river.
Beautifully restored room with the most interesting decor ideas. Comfortably furnished. Wim is a very helpful and entertaining host with the friendliest dogs. We had a nice stay.

The Hoenerhok is a compact room that slept well. The unit is not fully equipped for self-catering and could do with extra space for food preparation. Wim was friendly and it was nice to listen to his stories from the old days. If you are just looking for a place to lay your head, the Hoenerhok is ideal.
Good sleep-over for 1 night. All the basic needs are covered.
Charlize was an exceptional hostess. Die Hoenerhok is overpriced. We couldn't sleep as the branches of the tree behind the room were scratching on the roof the whole night as the wind was blowing. There was no WiFi.
This is not a self-catering unit. Couldn't prepare any meals myself. Had to either buy food or go out.
Good sleeping and bathroom facilities, but not so convenient for self-catering. Minimal space for food preparation, place to eat is outside the unit and it was raining so it was not feasible. Fridge is unfortunately very small.
The minimum in kitchen equipment, they presume you are eating out. The only tables are the bedside ones, guess it lived up to its name.
Do not wash milk with the coffee and tea and a cover for your vehicle would also be quite welcome.
Reduce the amount per day.
