Carike was friendly at reception and gave a thorough explanation of how the alarm and TV work. Everything was perfect, the house is a mix of old and new with everything guests need for a peaceful stay together with good quality bedding.
Linen is of good quality. Kitchen is well equipped, even if there is only a 2-plate stove. The oven surprised me. The good wine glasses were a highlight. Buy takeaway pies from the bistro and do the wine tasting. Was able to store the bikes safely and use a garage to park our car overnight. Had a nice few days on Bergsig estate.
Most beautiful view, close to Country Chic wedding venue, goes the extra mile with loadshedding.
The accommodation was 5 star, and the wine tasting experience excellent!
Beautiful view of the mountains. Very clean and comfortable. We are provided with firewood. Would definitely recommend it. We are also provided with free WiFi as mobile phone signal is weak.
Only thing I had a problem with was that there was no free wine tasting as advertised "All bookings include one free wine tasting per person at the Bergsig tasting room" and no breakfast or basket was included unless I misunderstood has. "However, Sundays will include a delicious breakfast basket that will be delivered to the home on Saturday evening". Otherwise it was a lovely stay, friendly people and the view fantastic.
House is well equipped. Enough space for the 5 of us. Dust in the living room nice. Thanks for the wood provided. Heater that would not work immediately replaced. Would easily stay there again. Recommendation: Hair dryer please. and extra tongs for handling the coals.
We also got a list of when load shedding was, which helped a lot.
We were there over a weekend and it was nice and quiet. Very tidy with everything you need.

Please note that Bergsig Wine Estate is a working wine farm, therefore during harvest time the vineyards and cellar are very busy, and on weekends there are also regular guests at the tasting room and bistro. However, we would like to emphasise that Die Kelderhuis is located completely separate and that none of this will disturb the guest's stay.No loud noise or music after 23:00 in the evening.
