The establishment has an on-site restaurant which is also open to the public. There is also a wedding and conference facilities on the farm. Activities on the farm include fishing, hiking and swimming. Guest are welcome to bring their pets with special prior arrangement.

The breakfast was very nice.
The Kraaltjie is a lovely guest house with an incredible view. Staff are friendly and rooms are equipped with everything needed.

Obviously loadshedding has an impact on any stay away from home.
If we travel through the Tsitsikama again we will definitely spend the night there again! It was amazing value for money! Longed for childhood. Carport for our vehicle - didn't rain wet!
I'm sure there are many guests who enjoyed their visit at Die Kraaltjie, but unfortunately we had a mixed experience. When we arrived, everything was closed and a knock on the door only answered a security alarm. We finally managed to call our hostess (there is no mobile phone signal at Die Kraaltjie). Our booked unit was not available, and the restaurant was closed, unlike the times as indicated on Google (Die Kraaltjie did communicate the restaurant times on their email). The next morning there was no water at the cottage either, toothbrush and toilet had to wait and we were early at the restaurant for breakfast. The R120 /p/p is not too unfair, but we were given no choice and our 2 and 4 year olds each also had to pay R120 for the breakfast which I don't think was fair. Finally, I would not recommend Die Kraaltjie as all the cottages are along a busy road and there are no gates for the children's safety, other than to keep them inside the house. Unfortunately, this was our story at Die Kraaltjie.
Just a shame our unit didn't have a shower - but wasn't a problem.

This is the second time in the past month myself and my men are making use of the Kraaltjie to overnight and we have been very satisfied. We will most definitely recommend it to anyone else.

Beautiful area, great place to stay.
Kitchen cupboards were dirty inside, sugar, coffee, dust and cobwebs everywhere. Directly outside our bedroom window was a water pump that went off every 2 minutes for 5 seconds, all night.
The Kraaltjie is located in the beautiful mountainous Langkloof. If you like walking and exploring, this is the ideal resting place. The visit is invigorating for the soul and a feast for the eyes!

Do you remember your grandmother's house with the wash stand with basin and cup, the antique furniture with crocheted robes, the low doorway? It's all here: basically, simple, clean. And between 21:00 and 22:30 the owls were talking outside.
The location in relation to other guest houses is tops, I also enjoyed the cleanliness of the guest house.
Unfortunately we were disappointed in this accommodation. We booked this accommodation because they advertise that they have a restaurant and bar on site and we traveled without any utensils or fresh food. When we got there we found a lady who then sent us to our unit and said the cottage was open. Got there, very neat and clean. But the other facilities such as the restaurant and bar and play area were lacking. I called the number on the door and the lady just said 'oh no we don't open' and I then had to ask her where we could find the nearest place to eat. I was bitterly disappointed in the service and that they charged us full price and we couldn't use the facilities.
The disillusionment is that the looks completely different from what the internet describes. For example, there is no anti-theft device available. The restaurant and bar they advertise on the internet does not exist. We planned to eat there and buy something to drink and when we got there nothing was available. If you do not provide any services on Sundays and public holidays, then at least say so. We come to cycle and then have to make our own plans. Fortunately, SAVE supermarket was still open. Not a good experience.
Would recommend to other people to visit there.
I really enjoyed my time at Die Kraaltjie. I would like to say thanks for the friendly staff and excellent service.
Unfortunately the rooms/house stank. Unpleasant smell, as well as rats' or mice's mess on the beds and in the room.
