The only problem was the drain outside. The care taker was only a phone call away and sent assistance.

House needs upgrading, dusting and good scrubbing. Kitchen not adequately equipped for larger group (we were 7).

My friends and I had such a great time at Die Kroon. No interruptions at all. The owner gave us a very warm welcome, such a friendly person. Given another chance, we would visit again. We felt at home there.

Die Kroon is a house with a very nice layout for a large group. We had a wonderful time on the braai stoep where the evening wind is deflected and which has a beautiful view of the bay and sunset. The house needs attention and is now going to be "renovated". We are very happy that the house will receive attention (eg the bathrooms and floors) and will rent it again in the future. The owners respond to emails and attend to things that bother guests. Thanks for that! The new chest freezer and extra fridge in the upper braai area help a lot. Thank you for your home! We do feel that the house needs updating, but we still had a great holiday there.

"Good location, very basic and needs some attention but a great downstairs space for entertaining."

The place needs some work but its good value for money if you happy with basic accommodation. Issues we had was that the place wasn't clean when we arrived but cleaners were brought in shortly after and everything was eventually sorted. We also ran out of electricity while we were there this was also sorted. Kettle kept tripping the electricity. All issues were not too serious but could have been avoided if the place was better managed.

Open plan construction of house makes it ideal for big groups. We were 12 people and there was room for all. The ambience was excellent and the view over the bay exceptional. We would definitely go back for another trip.

Literally opposite the Weskus Restaurant (which has also changed their menu- much better and better prices too!) Lekker braai area outside and inside (for winter times). Gas and electric stove. Pictures don’t do the place justice. Really enjoyable stay!

Upstairs, the toilets and lights did not work. There was a short circuit. The braai room upstairs is dirty. The beds need attention, especially if adults sleep there. The fridge is too small for a group of people. The crockery has cracks and the dishcloths are very bad. The stairs are quite dangerous for children. The house has a good location and a nice porch.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Load of space close to the beach. Watched beautiful sunsets every evening. Our only recommendation would be a bigger fridge, or an additional fridge.

This is such a great home, with a lot of potential, although it needs a lot of attention. The overhead shower leaked, even during the day, onto the power cords of the TV. This is extremely dangerous, also the upstairs toilet has DTtv wires sticking out which is just as dangerous. The fridge is definitely a bit small for the number of people the house provides. Still, that said, we really had a great time there. This is great for a group of people, like us who have kids. What a lovely, spacious house for friends and children to hang out with. The nicest porch to watch the setting sun with a fire burning. We will come again.

"The place was very neat and tidy, very disappointed that the pictures taken of the place was outdated, currently building construction taking the view away as well as working construction over weekend noise levels."

The place accommodated all 14 of us, however, the stairs (step-ladder) was dangerously not safe especially when half the group must sleep upstairs. The downstairs ground level was clean and tidy however outdated appliances, broken taps.

We were 9 adults who stayed at Die Kroon this weekend and it was the best accommodation we have ever stayed at. The house is beautiful and fully rested. We will definitely visit there again. Thank you Marlene for your hospitality. You were wonderful.

Two of the upstairs toilets were block. This was reported to the "housekeeper", fortunately there was enough other toilets that minimised the inconvenience. The unit itself was spacious and neat and tastefully decorated as an old Farmhouse with enough crockery and utensils for a large group.

Marlene, the host, was warm, welcoming and very helpful. The photos do not do justice to the house as it's brighter and so spacious. The TV, however needs upgrading, we paid extra for DStv but the TV had no sound for most of the time. The stairs are very steep with big gaps and is not safe for both kids and adults. Be sure to keep doors closed when using the braai areas as the house fills with smoke quite quickly. But overall my family had a very beautiful stay, thank you Marlene!

"Lovely view."

Lovely home for a family. Would not recommend for a large group of friends. Lower floor is open-plan living area and there are 2 bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. Very steep stairs to upper floor. Upper floor is impractical and not private. There are 3 bedrooms, one of which has an en-suite bathroom. The other 2 rooms share a bathroom which has a toilet and shower and then there is a separate sink in another room. Two bedrooms are private but the 3rd bedroom is dry-walled and does not have a ceiling, as do the 2 bathrooms. There are 4 single beds in the open space and if there are people sleeping they have no privacy as the three bedrooms lead out into the open space where the 4 beds are. There is a braai room on top of the double garage which also has a full bathroom, we moved 2 single beds into the room so that the people who would be sleeping in the open space have more privacy and then also have their own bathroom. The floors of the showers are soapy and older persons should be very careful. The braai room upstairs is also impractical as you have to climb very steep stairs from the kitchen. However, the ground floor is lovely with enough living space and a well-equipped kitchen. There is a dishwasher which came in very handy. The outdoor braai is on the patio area and has a lovely view of the sea. We didn't use the indoor grill as it makes too much smoke in the house. The morning when we left, the prepaid power ran out and we had to pack up in the dark and couldn't make breakfast. So just make sure that there are enough units of power for the entire stay. The rooms smell musty and the beds on the top level are very very soft. It was very cold and we looked for more blankets which were in a closet but not very clean. Despite the shortcomings, we had a great time around the dining room table. The house has incredible potential to accommodate a large group of people if attention is paid to the privacy of the upper rooms and bathrooms. Marlene received us very kindly and showed us where everything was.

Really enjoyed our stay at Die Kroon. Place is ideal for a group of friends as we quite liked the upstairs area where we all just relaxed and played boardgames on the floor. The distance from the beach and views are superb. Will definitely be visiting again.

Very nice big house which was large enough for 8 adults and 8 children (ages 6 - 12). Pretty view and children caught klipvis in the shallow water! Will go again.

Very close to the beach and great layout for bedrooms. Kids all slept upstairs and played up there too, which meant the adults didn’t trip over toys and could relax downstairs a little too! Great vibe for lots of friends and big groups.

The people are very nice, we had a nice time, I just don't think it is very child-friendly and there could be something done about the appearance and especially outside where the children play are cigarette stubs and garbage. The house has everything you need and has a very beautiful view.

House is very spacious and accommodated all our guests comfortably. However, we would like to make the following comments that we think can make staying at Die Kroon a more comfortable experience: - We like to prepare our own meals, but the kitchen utensils were not all clean (pots and pans had to be washed first). - It was a big disappointment that the fireplace did not work effectively and that we were advised to use it only with a small fire. We are not small fire people and this is one of the biggest reasons why we did not fully enjoy the house. - The porch was disappointingly small with not enough or comfortable seating for everyone! We would have liked to enjoy the sea view, but it is not really possible. - Toilet paper was scarce (4 rolls for 14 people for 3 days) - Lighting wiring on the upper floor could be done better so that it is more isolated for different areas. Right now 1 switch turns on several lights. - More extra bedding might be an easy (and cheap) improvement to ensure that everyone sleeps warm enough on the coldest winter night.

Stairs to upper floor extremely dangerous for older persons and grandchildren especially with the descent stroke. Condition of furniture and crockery definitely not 4.5 star quality! Bathroom privacy not as desired.

Large, spacious house with wonderful, complete facilities that made our stay a pleasure. The location near the beach makes it truly special. The only problem was the stairs. It is not very child friendly and we had to move the benches upstairs around the stairs to prevent anyone from falling down there. Nevertheless, we would visit again and recommend it for a large group.

The house is clean and well located, but it is not suitable for a big group of adults. There's only privacy downstairs and for 2 of the rooms upstairs. Other than that there's only dry walls for separation of the bathrooms and bedrooms. There are also no ceilings over the bathroom and sleeping space for 6 adults. The walls are normal height, other than that it's open. Everybody is exactly aware of what everybody else is doing. The stairs are difficult to use and no suitable bedding was available for the extra person as we arranged. Beautiful town.

Die Kroon is a beautiful and practical house ideal for large family holidays. The fireplace inside and the braai place on the stoep were perfect for the cold and wet days. Delicious! The house is fully equipped (nothing is missing) and is perfectly located. We had such a great time relaxing, thank you!

We were a family and friends group of 10 and had such a great time together! The large open-plan kitchen and dining and living room give a nice hanging out atmosphere. The house has large bedrooms and everyone can be comfortable without walking over each other. There is a cute gift shop. Booking this large home is a must if you are a group of people who just want to hang out and relax!
