Very nice. All our needs met.
Warm and comfortable. Welcomed by the staff and the room was as we expected. Just a tip: the shower was not draining. We stayed in Molly room and it would be good to have simple printed instructions to use the TV and DStv, as we started watching late and did not want to ask the staff. Thank you.
Very friendly and helpful management. Gorgeous rooms with everything you need. They kindly allowed us to leave our vehicle there for 10 days while we walked the Tankwa Camino. Highly recommended.
We had a wonderful stop-over at Die Ou Lady Gastehuis on our way to the coast. We stayed in the Lucy unit - the room was clean and comfortable, and we had the added bonus of safe parking for our car (inside an automatic gate). We also had a delicious breakfast the next morning before we carried on with our trip (the breakfast was an additional expense, but well worth it!).

The first room was not suitable, but the woman helped us very nicely. We slept very well.
Well located and within walking distance of a popular restaurant. Secure parking and everything you need for an overnight stay. The air conditioning is a bonus to heat the cold room. The hostess was friendly and helpful. I felt the bedding, although clean, was past its prime and could be replaced. The previous guest's dirty clothes were still in the closet. Perhaps more attention could be paid to cleaning the room.
House is poorly cleaned. Towels and linen have seen their best days. Shower handles are off. Walls and doors are dirty. No washing machine to wash towels. You cannot use the same towel for 4 days. Bedding is old.

The Old Lady Guest House is already well equipped for the Tankwa hikes. Baggage loading and unloading is at the door. Meet&Greet is also nearby. Been here for 6 nights now. No need to look for a place to sleep elsewhere.

Very quiet and pleasant.
We stayed in Lisa's Piano. Plekkie was big enough for our family and very neatly furnished with everything you might need. Very secure parking for our vehicle and caravan. Lights were available in room during load shedding. Will definitely stay there again.
Overnight stay after a nice camping week in the Kgalagadi. Great playground for children to stretch their legs. Adults too.
We spent the night there as a family. There is a nice, safe play area for the children after the long drive. The room is very comfortable, tidy and has everything you need.
We were a family of 3 adults (women). The unit (Lisa's piano) we slept in was really really cute. Parking is secure behind a sliding gate. The only "downside" for us was that the bathroom is an en suite in the master bedroom. So others will constantly have to bother those who sleep in that room for bathroom use. We wish we could explore the house and area further, but it was just a stopover on the way to the Cape.

The smell of smoke in the Mancave is really unpleasant and spoiled our visit a bit. The cleanliness in the Mancave could also be improved a bit. Otherwise it was nice with the animals and farm atmosphere and breakfast. The Blou Nartjie restaurant's food is great and they went out of their way to accommodate our wheelchair friend. Room Lucy was nice and comfortable for our wheelchair friend.

We stayed at Die ou Lady guest house for two days while we looked at flowers in the area. Everything was perfect for the purpose. Friendly service, clean and tidy room, nice bed with electric blanket. Good shower and bathroom. Breakfast was good. And the Blou Nartjie restuarant down the street makes delicious food. Can really recommend.
Truly worth 5 stars! They were so accommodating and saw to our every need. They provided a coffee plunger at our request and even put on the electric blankets to pre-warm our beds. It was a lovely stay and I will be back.

We slept over in Calvinia seeing that we were on our way home from Yzerfontein to Theunissen, in the Free State. Our hostess received us kindly and showed us our room. We didn't eat there because we started driving back early the next morning. The stay was satisfactory.

Joan was really very friendly and helpful, the large en suite bedroom with double bed and extra single bed very comfortable and cosy. I had my semi-disabled mother and chihuahua dog with me, so the layout and location of the Old Lady with Blue Nartjie next door made our stay very comfortable. Especially the fact that everything was pet and wheelchair friendly.
The managers were very friendly and helpful and the room comfortably furnished with DSTV and WiFi. I can also recommend the breakfast, it is a big portion and delicious. Another advantage was that my car could be parked inside a secure enclosure with an electronic gate. I can definitely recommend Die Ou Lady Gastehuis.

I booked the entire guest house for a reunion weekend. We were a total of 12 guests staying at the Old Lady. We received high quality service and the friendliness was overwhelming. One of my guests said the following: "I used guesthouses 4 times in Calvinia but this was the best I ever used. I will never use another one again!". Breakfast staff were absolutely professional and so friendly! No, I myself have been to 2 different guesthouses and a hotel, but Die Ou Lady is tops!
We arrived a little later than planned, but reception was always hospitable and very helpful. Even after we were booked in, we were asked if we were comfortable and there were any problems. It was not difficult to find this lovely place.

Enjoyed the town very much, everyone's super friendly. Guest house was in walking distance to everything. Only downfall for us was the mosquitoes, but don't fear the guest house provided us with a spray to rid the house from the mosquitoes, but I suggest to take along the body application of peaceful sleep. The town stores all stock mozzies repellent sprays as well. Property had a nice braai place and also provided fire wood that was lekker. OK Foods stocks everything we needed and was open till late, so was good. The entire town was full of these mozzies even while you shop or walk during the day time you swotting them away, but other then that the stay was lovely. Safe to wander at night along the streets. Calvinia is a place where everyone smiles. It was real nice.

We have 3 small children and the playground was a lovely surprise. We arrived at the coffee shop to wash, but Aunt Lucia didn't hesitate to make milkshakes and coffee! Everything is neat and of top quality. I definitely recommend it.

The owner is very friendly and helpful. She is willing to go the extra mile for you. The grounds and ablution block are extremely clean and tidy. Her staff is also friendly and helpful. She makes you feel at home.
Annie is a nice spacious room with a cute little kitchen. Lovely warm bed! Just right for that stay in the cold.
Second time we stayed here and still satisfied. Changes made since last visit are well thought out. One or two small things that could be improved e.g. kitchen cloth and drying cloth which we could not find. Biscuit was nice, but only 4 for 5 people. Would stay here again though, excellent value for money.

It's the little things here at Die Ou Lady Gastehuis that surprises the guest and we were immediately so happy that we decided to stay here. The rooms area beautifully appointed and the kitchen is equipped with all the extras for guets who want to prepare their own meals or have a braai. Delicious breakfast and we had a nice chat with the owners which made the experience unfrogetable. I recommend this place to anyone passing through Calvinia, definitely worth it. We got such a nice welcoming we felt as though we'd come home - we were on our way to the Northern Cape for a family gathering when I called Tannie Lucia from Vanrhynsdorp to tell her that we would be late, she assured us she'd wait for us! This was true, sincere hospitality at its best - it made our weekend. My wife, mother-in-law and the kids felt welcome immediately. After 7 years that we hadn't been in the Northern Cape/home, it felt like we were being welcomed back home - thank you Old Lady and Tannie Lucia.

The hostess welcomed us with open arms when we arrived. The unit was very clean, tidy and well furnished. Bathroom could do with a bench on which you can put your clothes. Everything else was perfect!

Owner informed us that there was a power outage, which we really appreciated. First morning we had fantastic breakfast, and felt very welcoming. 2nd day there was no one who could make breakfast, and we were not informed about it. 3rd day it was the same. There is WiFi, but it was not explained to us in terms of the password.

We slept wonderfully at the Old Lady Guest House on the way to Paternoster. The apartment was clean, beds comfortable, the reception friendly and the air conditioner helped a lot against the December heat.

Everything is very neat.
We had an easy comfortable night's stopover in Calvinia en route to the West Coast. Die Ou Lady was as charming and pretty as it looked online. The room was large and cool and sweetly decorated. There was no door closing off the toilet from the room which was a little uncomfortable for us as friends sharing.
Lucia received us so warmly and immediately made us feel at home. Rooms were comfortable and stylish. Breakfast was 5 star.
