The accommodation comprises of 4 units. The open plan unit of Die Ou Stal which accommodates 2 adults and 1 child is an old stable that has been converted and much of the original structure was retained. The Karoohuis can accommodate 5 people with one double bed, 1 single bed, and a bunk bed. The Wijnhuis can accommodate 5 people in 2 bedrooms. All our units have private gardens with their own braai areas. The Vinknes is a large unit and can accommodate 6 people. It has 2 main bedrooms and a living room kitchen with a small private garden and a large outside pit braai. The Vinknes and Wijnhuis are both equipped with washing machines, free Wifi and TV's with Netflix.
The farm offers loads of space for relaxed walks on the grassy expanses and swims in the farm dam. Give Benny the goat and his family some attention or play with the ponies. Feed Elly our potbelly pig or fall in love with Egor our friendly hand-reared turkey. Awake to the happy sound of finches chirping, witness the woodpecker in all its glory or listen to the call of guinea fowl. Here you can truly relax and unwind.

113 guests' feedbackI traveled with my 4 pets. We needed overnight accommodation for a few nights. At Groendraai we were warmly received. The stable was neat, clean and very convenient for our needs. The animals soon calmed down and enjoyed the separated space. Groendraai is close to a whole lot of attractions, wine farms and a very cute shop (Potbelly). I visited a different place every day. I would really recommend Groendraai for leisurely travelers.
Hope we get the chance to come back. Lovely appointed accommodation, beautiful farm. Sorry we only really got to spend the nights at the venue but we did get an afternoon to swim in the dam (definite highlight) but never got to use the lovely outdoor braai facilities etc due to our event commitments.

An absolute must for a family with children who want to enjoy the tranquility of farm life, but be close to all the activities in and around Cape Town. Safe and absolutely a gem of a place. Children enjoyed all the interaction with the farm animals and the hospitality of the owners is top notch!

Our stay at Groendraai Accommodation in Klapmuts was really nice. The farm atmosphere was the perfect getaway we needed. The accommodation was not only comfortable and tidy, but the well-maintained facilities and attention to detail reflect a real commitment to guest satisfaction. The host and hostess were friendly and made us feel at home with special attention to our two boys who could play with the farm animals and swim in the farm pond.

We went home in the Karoohuis. Well appointed cottage. Very nice floors with certainly the most beautiful bathroom I have ever seen in a holiday unit. The daughter came to pick us up to see the farm animals. Also a highlight. Lovely stoep and braai area with wood provided. Porch light and steak knives would be a recommendation. Will stay there again.

At first appearance you would be disappointed but once behind the closed gate of your unit you're welcomed with privacy and calmness!
Host is friendly, we were not disturbed. Very quiet surroundings. Bath is not sturdy, it leaks in the one room when it rained. Love the fact that there is a washing machine, maybe it can be added to the available amenities.
No record player. Fireplace broken and leaking smoke in unit. No free wine received as per website. Towels are small and linen is old. Towels were changed on request. Mattress quality can improve. Located next to a busy road on a small holding and not on a quiet farm as the website says. Coffee quality not as pictured. Security not to be desired, open gate to premises without locks, with easy access over fence.

Our hosts were very accommodating. The supply of complimentary wood is nice, a cost saver and a bonus. Rates are really fair. Nice place to stay if you want to get a quiet getaway. Perfect for larger groups. Close access to the N1.
It is difficult in load shedding if there is no water. Schedules sometimes make it difficult to sort in the morning or evening. Must have an alternate plan for water!
Gas geyser had been without gas one night. There were large spiders in our unit. No mirror near a power plug.

If you want to switch off from the city's noise. Then Groendraai is the place to be. The people on the farm are friendly. The atmosphere calm. Will definitely go there again to switch off.
Nice farm environment. Although we didn't wash the chalets, they are well equipped with an outdoor recreation area. Located close to various tourism places.

The sink was faulty.
Great place to get away and close to be able to visit attractions and wine farms and take a trip to Cape Town by hopping on the highway. Host was really nice and ensured that everything was to our needs.
I would suggest staying there in spring/summer. Can get quite cold and also there is a farm pond that the children cannot use. But the braai area was covered so wasn't too difficult. There are 3 labradors on the farm which also made it very special, especially for the children, so much so that they simply slept over in the house with us. And the owner Annene has wonderful hospitality. So if you want to be peaceful with the animal sounds then this is the right place.

From our welcome to our check out our room was beautiful and rustic. The pictures are exactly what your room looks like. Annene is a superb host, we got SMS updates for load shedding in the area, where to have breakfast and a lot of handy information. We will definitely be back! A true hidden gem. We have stayed in many places and Groendraai stands head and shoulders above them all in every respect. We could not have asked for better people than Ockert and Annene. I will go back again and again.

We had a wonderful stay there, it is very peaceful and one completely relaxes. The animals' sounds make you feel as if you are on a farm. Everything was there that we needed. Will be happy to stay there. It is also close to shops and is easily accessible from the main road.
All the extras were really a pleasant addition: 2 bottles of wine, biscuits, nut coffee, hot water bags, more than enough wood. A tour of the farm to meet all the animals was also unforgettable. Brilliant host and wife.

We had a very nice stay. A big problem was the heat. An air conditioner is a must, the fan makes no difference. A single plate fabric is also needed.
Think mum/dad with 2 teenage sons need 2 rooms. 2 single beds in living room, where boys' clothes are piled up, quickly make it look untidy. No hanging closet for boys, so clothes are piled out of suitcases. But if you only sleep in the cottage it's not too big a problem either.
Can definitely recommend Groendraai, neat, clean accommodation, friendly service, ideally located close to Paarl and Stellenbosch. Old world charm, delightful privacy, warm welcome and pleasant accommodation at affordable prices.

The atmosphere was peaceful. The cottage's decor is beautiful and very well equipped. The reception was friendly and we really appreciated the extras. This is the first place we stay that has a radio and it was a pleasant surprise for us. Absolutely nothing was missing. We were even able to stay later the next morning, which was a wonderful courtesy. We were only sorry that we only stayed one night. We could have fun there now!

Very pleasant and hospitable reception. Kitchen well equipped including microwave and braai facilities, but a two-plate stove to cook something in a pot or pan would have been handy. Facility clean and tidy. Would recommend that the gate entrance to the endom be improved, first impressions are important.

Wanted a simple, affordable overnight stay for Valentines day in the wine region. Then found the Karoo house with everything we needed and more (not often you get filter coffee in a self-catering place!) What a surprise, after the friendly reception there was a cold bottle of JC le Roux and champagne glasses with a heart theme on the table waiting for us! These guys goes the extra mile for their guests, and I would recommend Groendraai any day!

What a great experience. Place more beautiful than in photos. Wonderfully calm and safe feeling. So nice barbecue and visit with in-laws there. they thought of everything and the place is wonderfully cool. Peaceful atmosphere and might just wish for a carport, but otherwise it was a great experience and we had a great time relaxing and visiting the place. Everything we needed was there and more. Would recommend for sure!
When I'm in Paarl again and looking for accommodation, I would stay at Groendraai without a doubt. There was even a horse to greet me the next morning. Convenient braai area ties in nicely. Close to Butterfly World and many other places of interest. The photos actually don't do this place justice!

Here is everything one needs to recharge. Air conditioner will round everything off nicely. The friendly reception (also from the dogs) was pleasant.
We had a wonderful time, but the place isn't suited for 4 people. The linen wasn't up to standard and they could have changed it more often. Maybe the website should also indicate that there are no stove in the unit.
