We had a really nice stay, and it was so peaceful there. Als was clean, and we really enjoyed the treats. The hostess is friendly and excellent. It was nice to get up in the mornings with a cup of coffee and stare at the harbor and sea. We even saw and heard 2 owls one night.

This was our first visit to St Helena Bay. The Turtle is a beautiful unit. It is extremely clean and tidy with a beautiful veranda overlooking the harbour. You hear chickens, partridges, peacocks and even donkeys. The hostess is a gem. Highly recommended.

The place is beautifully furnished with everything you need. It's on the land and completely private. The sea view is beautiful. We had a lovely stay there for 3 nights. Wilma kept us informed about load shedding, but we didn't even know if there was load shedding. TV and lights still worked. Thank you Wilma for your hospitality.

I was pleasantly surprised with the appearance of the unit. Everything is well thought out. There was really nothing missing, from the soft towels in the bathroom and the soft pillows on the bed. The carafe of sweet wine was nice for the cold weather. The milk in the fridge showed that the hostess had travelers in mind. Possibly a heater would have helped with the cold, but I'm sure Wilma would have provided one if I had asked.
This self-catering unit has everything you need. It has a beautiful view of the sea where you can see the boats coming in and out. It has a nice braai and a patio. Everything is clean and so neat. The extras such as the DStv package, the delicious rusk and nice glass of sherry are all plus points. Would definitely recommend the unit.

Wilma is a very good hostess. The places are very neat and everything you need is there. Squinted at the fishing boats right from the bed. Everything is so convenient! The silence and sea air was just what we needed. We also visited the port and it was really an experience. Will definitely go back to the Tortoise again and would recommend it to anyone. Wilma is great, there are so many treats, from chocolates next to your bed, fruit and a bottle of wine on arrival. Little things that make a big difference. There is everything one could need. Up to restaurant menus in a file. Tortoise is spotless.

Many attractions in the area. Wilma and Okie are two friendly and helpful hosts and made us feel very much at home! We would have preferred a bigger fridge to be installed, especially if you are visiting for a long time but otherwise there was everything you need. We really had a great time for the 10 days in the tranquility of Die Skilpadjie with its charming view! We recommend the place with the greatest peace of mind for a nice and peaceful holiday!

My previous stay in St. Helena Bay put me off a bit to return again. The Turtle made me change my mind and I didn't regret it. The Turtle is beautiful, clean and has everything you need. I loved the sea view. Wilma and Okkie made us feel at home. Okkie can only sleep a little later in the morning, because her fussing has dampened our sleep a bit. I will definitely visit again.
