13 guests' feedbackWonderful natural beauty around the very nice modern upgraded stable. Was a refreshing experience!
It was one of the best self-catering accommodations we have ever stayed in, in terms of the space and cleanliness. The place is recommended if you like nature and is conveniently located near Worcester.
Unbelievable privilege to be able to live here! Lafenis for heart, soul and body, thank you very much.
Value for money, quietly surrounded by mountain and wine fields.
The stay at Die Stal was amazing and thoroughly enjoyable. There was nothing more that we could have asked for. Note that we didn't do much cooking, we drove down to the mall restaurants for meals.
Come prepared for the cold if it is winter, as it's pretty cold at that time with snow visible on the surrounding mountains. There is a large fireplace to warm one, but you will need 2 to 3 bags of wood per night to warm one side of the space, and there is a gas heater on the other side (although we were without gas for the first night, and it is much needed). The views are beautiful, and we had a lovely sunset through the bushes over the valley. We were a bit surprised by the proximity of the road behind us, but the buses and trucks don't drive that road at night. The place is definitely very safe and secure, which is reassured by the distinctive bark of a big Boerboel that was a bit shorter than mine but a very stocky boy and extremely friendly. I wish my Boerboel had such a beautiful temperament as he had, and you know that none of the passers-by on the back road will even think of entering the property. The amenities are all there to have a very comfortable stay, and it is very well equipped with very nice glasses, cutlery, and crockery. We were not able to wash our dishes on the last night as we ran out of sunlight dishwashing soap during the first night's stay; however, the kitchenette is well laid out. We enjoyed relaxing in the day bed and enjoying the view with the doors folded back during the day when the sun did appear. I am not a fan of open plan showers in the cold, but this one is the exception as it really makes for a great hot shower despite the cold weather. The bathroom basin only makes warm water after a shower, but the layout is spacious, and we had a great time there.
Our stay was quick and we were in and out a lot. Unit is neat and clean. Well equipped with the necessary. One King size bed in open plan and other bed in room with doors for privacy. Hostess accommodated us with extra time the morning before we checked in, at no extra cost. It helped a lot so that children could dress up for matric graduation.
Stunning place. Very nicely furnished with 1st class trimmings.
We loved the bed-couch. The bedding and towels were very clean and fresh. Nice big fridge-freezer, if you're en-route. Good books to browse through.
Place is neat. Bathroom is a bit inaccessible for older people. Couldn't use TV.
We really enjoyed the short visit to the Stable. Check in was easy and we were greeted by friendly dogs. The place is nice and spacious and the large windows allow for a nice view of the area and the mountains. I would recommend the Stal for a peaceful escape from the city.
We had a fantastic time there. The owner's dogs are friendly and good caretakers. The place has everything you need. It is a nice spacious place and very peaceful. There is a lot to do in the area, but if you want to experience a break, you should stay at the accommodation.
Have a great time and be safe.
