We spent the night there. Like many places in the countryside, the place is starting to look a bit tired. The mattress was a bit soft. So we didn't sleep well. The toilet leaked when you flushed it and we notified the owner when we drove up. Furthermore, the places have very nice views over the valley. Was clean and tidy. We will not simply spend the night in Tzaneen again. There was not much to do and many places to eat were closed. For the price it was probably acceptable.
Very nice stay. The road from the gate to the guest house needs to be upgraded, especially if you go there with a normal car.
Our stay at the Stoep was fantastic. Johan and Hanlie were very nice people and the staff were all incredibly helpful and friendly. We felt like part of the family. Even our dog children felt at home! The view is indescribably beautiful and the Stoep has a wonderfully peaceful atmosphere, especially with the beautiful garden and trees. The staff keep the premises tidy at all times and the breakfast is a must. We can really highly recommend the Stoep - these are people who care.
We arrived at night and had to leave early the next morning again. Wish we had more time to enjoy the views. I bet the sunset and sunrise would be spectacular from there and next time I'm bringing some meat to braai on the stoep.

I booked and paid well in time before arrival. I had expected that the room allocated would be very clean upon my arrival, but I got disappointed. The (hotel) is in a good spot not far from town, the staff is friendly, but the room given to me was dirty and there was no improvement in cleaning up during my stay.

We really enjoyed our stay at Die Stoep on the weekend of 25 and 26 November 2022. The place is so peaceful and relaxing. Our room was comfortable, clean and well appointed with everything you need to sleep over. The breakfast that the guest house offers is top notch - very tasty. Beautiful guest house with rooms well furnished with everything you need and more. We were warmly received by Johan and immediately felt at home. At times of load shedding, they are also designed to still be able to provide essential power, which is a bonus. Hannie's eye for detail is visible everywhere and it makes your stay extra special. The gardens are beautiful and a lovely courtyard indeed. The breakfast served is delicious and definitely good value for money. We will definitely stay at Die Stoep again in the future.

Any time you arrive, you are welcome and safe. The security guard by the name Martin is there to be waiting for you and no one will rush you out during check-out time. The place is absolutely beautiful.
The accommodation is perfect and very good value for money. The rooms are big enough for a family of 4 and there is everything you could need. They are also designed for load shedding so you are not left in the dark. Very nice stay.
Had a lovely stay. Just had trouble getting the owners to open the gate. After a very long day on the road it was quite frustrating to come to a closed gate. Owner may have to provide code for visitors in advance if they are outside reception. Other than that, no complaints and slept very well.

The website should please adjust the directions! Please remove the part: Turn left into Wolkberg. One just has to continue on the R71 towards Phalaborwa and turn left at the Deerpark exit.
Beautiful view with special attention to the little things that make them unique. Even though we didn't meet the owners you could see their hand in everything. We will use Die Stoep again in the future.

We had a wonderful stay at Die Stoep. The guest house is located on top of a ridge with spectacular views in both directions and a beautiful garden. The rooms are really nice presented, with attention to detail and the staff incredibly friendly. The owners went out of their way to ensure we knew when loadshedding was taking place ( which was really helpful!) and made sure we had enough battery powered lamps during this time. Definitely have the breakfast the next morning, it’s OUTSTANDING value for money and delicious. We wil definitely be back.

We had an overnight stay at Die Stoep on our way to the Kruger. The hosts were friendly and efficient and the venue is a treasure trove of unique stone sculptures, cute little finds among the gardens and, of course, absolutely magnificent views in all directions. The beds were very comfortable and we had a relaxing stay.
Close to Tzaneen and very convenient. All the rooms open onto the long veranda, so privacy is limited to the room itself. Beautiful garden and secure parking.

I was in Room 2 - even though i stayed alone, it was a little crowded with loose items/decorations that served no real value and could have been left out so as to create more usable space. The fridge could have been accommodated in the bathroom instead of the walkway between the room and the bathroom, alternatively in the kitchenette. The fridge was old and made a noise at night so after being switched off, it deposited a lot of water.

I think the place needs attention, it is clear that no room checks are done before guests check in. Our air conditioner was unplugged from the wall, the toaster was dirty and full of crumbs still lying on the table, the Sherry bottle's stopper was twisted with Gladwrap to make it tighter and the sanitiser spray bottle didn't work, etc. The location is excellent, the gardens very beautiful and the people we came into contact with friendly.
The owner receives you personally and takes care of all your needs. The breakfast for R50 pp is really worth it. Full English breakfast.

The place is incredible. The people are so friendly. We had a great stay. There was super nice hot water, coffee and rusks in our room. The TV and WiFi were a nice bonus. There was a security guard who guarded our cars and the property. We felt so safe and at home. After our first night, we went out for the day and we never expected to come back to such a neat and tidy place. The breakfast we booked was more than what we expected and it was so tasty. We had a braai the Saturday night and so much effort was made for us. Thank you to Die Stoep you are fantastic! I recommend everyone to book here.

After an initial loss due to Google Maps, Hannie's worried help brought us safely to them. Die Stoep is a friendly, very accessible accommodation for my mobility-restricted 83-year-old mother (with the exception of the shower in the bath). It met all our expectations and we will definitely use them again. Already sent photos and recommendations to friends and family.

During my arrival, I struggled to gain access and should have contacted several numbers. The hostess was not available on arrival. I didn't meet her at all. During my departure, I left the key with one of the workers. There was no feedback regarding breakfast and/whether it was included or not.

The host was a friendly gentleman. The Google maps pin is nowhere near the guesthouse and I got very lost, being directed to a spot on the other side of Tzaneen. Views from Die Stoep are wonderful - perched on a hill. My room was not pleasant at all. The welcome note spoke of free fruit, which I did not receive. The walls are dirty and need to be repainted. There are signs prohibiting smoking in rooms, but my room had a terrible smell of cigarettes. Although there is equipment in the rooms to cook, the room should not be used for this type of cooking. Walls are splattered with oil. The silk pillowcases had holes in them and must have been burnt with an iron. The bed cover had a stain on it. The bed post had several bars missing on both ends of the bed. The drinking glasses were sticky and dirty. The bathroom is carpeted with a flokati rug. Some tiles have fallen off the wall and have not been replaced. There is mould on the ceiling in the bathroom. The toilet seat is wooden and has warped and needs to be replaced. The gardens have not been maintained for a long time and the once magnificent gardens are full of weeds. The pool area has old chairs that need to be repainted. There are many cigarette butts and old cigarette packets in the pool garden area. This once lovely guesthouse has been neglected and I cannot recommend this establishment to others. I can only hope that my efforts to shed light on these issues are taken as constructive criticism and that the owners can restore this once fantastic guesthouse to its former glory. There is massive potential here.

The Stoep feels like home. Everyone sits on the stoep and it is wonderfully cozy. There is tons of atmosphere and the amenities are more than you would hope for. The decor is warm and in good taste. My teenagers wanted to get up early to go for a walk, what more can I say.

Die Stoep is a cute little place that we will definitely visit again. We had a lovely stay and the garden is absolutely fantastic. The only disappointment was that we didn't get the room we booked. Unfortunately we also couldn't try the breakfast that everyone talks about as we wanted to eat a little earlier and they didn't serve the breakfast until later.

We were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful decor. Bed was comfortable and room was neat. The sherry and short bread was welcomed together with the rusks and coffee station. Will go back!

There is a problem with the coordinates of Die Stoep. The wrong "location" is on the web paint and it took us an hour to two hours to get hold of the place. We did have a good time on the stoep. We were kindly helped and the breakfast was delicious. The area is quiet and beautiful. Was the perfect place where all my sisters and I could hang out and we felt very safe.
We will be back. Good reception from host and hostess.
The room is impressively well appointed. The cold water in the bath runs drop by drop in room 2. Beautiful views from the veranda in front of the room.

Mense rook in die kamers of op die stoep voor die kamer. Die plek stink/smells van rook en nattigheid. Ek het nie ontbyt geëet nie, ek het nie geweet of ek daarvoor betaal is of nie. Gewoonlik as jy in check sê die mense wat daar beskikbaar is. Koekies in kamer was lekker.
The patio has the most beautiful garden where you can sit on the patio and take everything in. Service is of true Afrikaans nature, professional and friendly. The breakfast is excellent.
I would stay at Die Stoep again anytime. The nice clean room is beautifully equipped. Emily made us feel so pampered and welcome. She set a beautiful breakfast table for us on Christmas Day with the most delicious breakfast. The place is beautiful and so hospitable. We were sad to return home. Pleasant and friendly owners. Cleaning services great which is included in the price. Family rooms nicely furnished and the fact that there is a bath and shower helps a lot especially for families with small children. We had a truly blessed time at the stoep. The surroundings are beautiful and the night watchman helped us sleep with peace of mind.
We had a great time at Die Stoep. It was so peaceful and beautiful. On Sunday morning for only R50.00 per person we got the most delicious farm breakfast which was really delicious. If we go next time the weather might cooperate so the children can use the swimming facilities.

Breakfast was off the books. It's a beautiful environment. We were received kindly and the rooms are beautiful, neat and clean.
Room 3, sleeps 5 (as advertised) actually only has 4 beds as in description. We luckily had an extra mattress for our 5 year old, were on our way to the Wildlife Park. I think the advertisement means there is space for an extra bed/mattress if you want to bring your own. Was no problem for us and everything else was 100%. Will stay at Die Stoep again.

It was lovely staying over at Die Stoep. The room was incredibly beautiful and tasteful and the bathroom was picture perfect. The gardens of Die Stoep is beautiful and there is lots of room to just rest and enjoy the gorgeous view. Coffee, tea, rusks and the most delicious shortcake was available in the room and I could even cook something if needed. Thanks so much.
"Die Stoep" is the perfect name for the place with the most beautiful stoep and beautiful view in front and behind the house. The rooms are cutely furnished with a few items for self-catering. We had a nice swim in the afternoon and were able to grill some meat in the evening at the braai area. Breakfast was also delicious. The place is also outside the town where it is nice and quiet.
