All good, basic necessities for an overnight stay.
We had a wonderful stay and had a great time with the other guests at the joint braai. This place is comfortable, safe and clean and it was lovely to spend the night there after the long drive. We will definitely stay there again on our next holiday. Thank you very much.

The place is comfortable. The woman who received us was just a bit unfriendly and kept talking about saving power etc., but at least we appreciated the stay.
Was calm. Getting in and out of the gate if you want to go somewhere is a bit of a hassle. Ok, I still haven't received an invoice for my stay there, so will also want to expect it from a nice rest.

It is nicely located. Safety for myself and car is sufficient. Refrigerator could have been switched on earlier. They should make sure to pump water early. After 10 hours of driving you are tired and expect such things to be in place. No luxury. TV channels were disappointing. Thank you.

The place was perfectly adequate for overnight en route home. Nothing special, but clean and neat and well organised. We were a little surprised that we were charged R100 to park the caravan. And the R10 for internet access was not something we've ever experienced before.
Poor reception, poor communication, 2 bath towels smelled, despite lock down, no help with matches.

Good night's rest before the long road.
For a over night we found it perfect. It was close enough to town for us to grab a bite to eat at supper time. The bedroom are very clean and tidy. We also felt safe enough to allow or tween to explore the property on his own.

I am very happy about the fact that I could take my puppies with me ─ thank you very much for that. The bed was very comfortable and slept very well. The shower just wasn't that nice for me, the hot water didn't last long and the shower head didn't spray properly. But everything else was 100%.

The Windpomp Guest House is a hidden gem in Beaufort West. Excellent accommodation that is clean and very tidy. The service, which includes advance alerts on WhatsApp, and reception on arrival is unbeatable. The rooms are exceptionally neat with all the basic necessities to make your stay pleasant. The general cleanliness of the courtyard, including the braai area, is excellent. Will definitely stay there again if the opportunity presents itself and would highly recommend Die Windpomp Gastehuis.

Slept very well. Second time I spend the night there. The lights with the many jumping canes were a bit uncomfortable but apart from that everything was good. Will definitely stay there again if I drive through there again.
There was little to fault and the hard, uncomfortable beds were our only gripe. It did not make for a comfortable night's rest. It seems only the adults were affected by this, the children under 10 had no complaints.
Has the essentials, but is not luxurious. Feel free to get DStv because without it the available channels are extremely limited.

I would recommend the place anytime if they might be thinking about having cooling units installed. It was terribly hot and we could not sleep due to the fact that the fans in the room were not sufficient.
Please sit down a stronger light bulb in the bathroom. The cutlery is also just enough.

The heat was terrible. Other than that it was neat.
The Trellis door was broken, dead crickets and grasshoppers lay by the sliding door. Only 2 towels - we were three persons. Fridge was not on, took a long time to get cold. The place needs a lot of attention. The clean cement on the outside makes one think that the place has not yet been built. Pillows were rock hard and thick - no normal person could sleep on them. Paint on the inside and also in shower. White bedding works better as one can tell if it is clean. Dark bedding makes it difficult. The basic things are there and for the amount per person you probably can't complain - but small details make or break a place.

My stay at Die Windpomp Guesthouse was very enjoyable. The only disadvantage was that we as travellers do not travel around with irons for the purpose of ironing clothes as we expect that the facilities where we book would have such items. To our disadvantage we could not be helped or provided with that and had to go and buy such as we were attending a funeral and could not show up at the funeral dressed in un - ironed clothing.

We were kindly received and the lady took us to the room we had booked. The room was tidy with clean bedding and nice duvets over the beds. The bathroom was clean and tidy. There was a kettle plus mugs and glasses and also sachets of coffee and milk in the room. We had a wonderful stay, will definitely stay there again and also recommend the place to our friends.

The Windpomp Guesthouse has an open plan room, separate bathroom, coffee making facilities, fridge and microwave oven. There is a braai area outside. It's a good place to stay overnight. The owner is on site and very friendly and helpful.

Imagine putting a summer blanket on the bed as well. Impossible to lie under duvet in heat. Our room also didn't have a security gate in front, so had to sleep with a closed door which made it very hot.
Positive: safe parking, comfortable beds, clean, kettle and coffee/tea in the room, two fans in the room. Negative: building is neglected, Ricoffy, owners new to the area and don't know the local specials and off-the-tourist local gems, no fridge or alternative cooling facilities.

There was a TV in the room, but it didn't work. There was no air-conditioning and because there's no ventilation, we had to open the sliding door. This causes guests to sit outside and make a noise. I had to phone the manager at 22:00 to request that he quiet them down. The shower was dirty and full of soap scum. It's supposed to be a self-catering unit so a one- or two plate stove would be nice.
Feel free to add a pool for children to swim after the long drive. Quiet outside the town.

Comfortable overnight accommodation close to the N1 and easy to find. Secure parking right next to the rooms. We weren't aware of the traffic on the N1 at all - noticed it because there was a previous negative review about it.
What more could one want than a tidy unit after a long day on the road. The bathroom and towels were also very clean. I slept like a baby! There was even a fridge and microwave. Would definitely recommend the Die Windpomp Guesthouse.

As a single lady traveling I was put at ease at Die Windpomp Gastehuis. I got a good night's rest in a comfortable bed and clean room with my own bathroom, for the price I paid. A real "bargain"!

Good stay over on my way to Cape Town - very basic. Had no water at some stage - apparently fault of municipality, but hosts could have informed guests. Not enough warm bedding available.
The room looks neglected, unfinished and broken. No bedside lamp, small fridge, mats for feet on the cold floor, not even at the toilet. The bed linen is scanty, no top sheet, thin inner duvet and only 1 pillow. The only power point is at the boiler. Don't think we will spend the night there again.
I may have been negligent in checking the location. The Windpomp Guesthouse is located near the N1 and the trucks are very noisy at night. I could get it easily enough, but due to the truck noise little sleep. Then there was a summer fitted sheet, one thin duvet and one blanket per bed. It was too little for the Karoo winter night and we slept cold.

Given the fact that Beaufort West is primarily a 1 night destination, Die Windpomp Gastehuis is adequate. Room was comfortable and quite clean.

It was nice staying here. It's next to the highway and close to restaurants. Neat and clean.
Remember that there is no air conditioner, so be prepared when you sleep over in summer time. Furthermore it has everything you need to rest for the next part of the trip.

Everything was clean and neat in the room. Just too bad that there was no fridge to keep sodas cold. We were a bit disappointed in how the place looks from the outside, but believe they are busy with upgrading and maintenance work.

We were received hospitably and professionally by Marinda. She also made her personal freezer available to us for overnight storage of our meat. The room and bathroom were clean and tidy and we slept well. A TV would perhaps be a further plus to pass the time until one goes to sleep. It would also have been handy if there had been crockery and cutlery and perhaps a microwave oven. We only stayed one night and the reception and cleanliness were excellent. It's a bit cramped if you are more than one person.

The units are neat and comfortable. The units are very neat. I am, for the children's sake, only concerned about the unfenced prickly pear plants. As the units are so close to the main road I would suggest looking into a secure enclosure but I believe this is the planning for the future as the place is still in the development stage. Another suggestion is that the path just in front of the stoep be paved, but I believe this will also receive attention in the future.

Nowhere does one get better value for one's money than at Die Windpomp Gastehuis, because there are not all tiger lanterns for which one has to pay extra.

Friendly welcome, immediately shown to the room and it was pleasant to sleep there. Located near Spur as well as petrol station. They are just building, but it didn't bother me at all.

It is clear that the Wimdpomp has not been in business for long. There are some minor finishes missing. For example, a trash can in the bathroom and a small fridge, as it is self-catering.
It was clean and tidy, but I would recommend that you put air conditioning in the rooms. I would also recommend that the TV has better reception and channels. The shower head was also too small and the water supply is not 100%. We booked for 4 people but there were only 3 who checked in and had to pay full price even though the rate was per person.
I would recommend the place to any person to sleep over.
Very polite and comfortable. However, a lack of cooling and braai facilities is a factor. Route directions are also recommended.
The accommodation is very basic with only the essentials. The room is very cramped and there are no facilities to hang clothes. Since there is no space for wardrobes, a few hooks on the walls or a coat stand would be a welcome addition. Unfortunately, on the day of our departure, the water in the shower was barely cold on a cold morning and we could not take a nice shower. I believe they can set the hot water cylinder much hotter. Otherwise we rested well.
The place is cramped and small. The shower that's so small you can't turn around. No TV in room. The people need to realize that this is 2015 and not 1900. The advertisement and actual guest house are very different from each other.
Place was clean and tidy. It would have been much nicer if there was an option for breakfast (for the convenience of the guests).

Will make the following recommendations: Make provision for a small fridge. If possible put in a small TV even if it only has the basic channels on it. More wall plugs and maybe one bed light. A small porch roof. Finally, maybe a small air conditioner.
The location is not good and the exterior needs renovation.

A bit of feedback: Maybe a double bed for families and possibly a TV or music to switch off after a long journey. There were only 2 coffees and little sugar. We were 4 people who booked. The room was full of mosquitos and did not get any sleep with them, so a net in front of windows could help. Even though they were already in the room and dogs barking wake people up very early in the morning. It's not good for guesthouses, but otherwise neat and clean.
The room was extremely hot and cramped and this during a heat wave! What was extremely poor was that the toilet paper was poor quality. At R600 per night for the room you at least expect decent toilet paper! Windpomp Guest House is not value for money, maybe at R150 per person.
The hostess is not very helpful at all
It's very basic facilities without a TV and parking with open fields next to it which puts your packed vehicle at risk for a long 4x4 tour. The hostess creates the impression that she is doing you an awfully big favor.
It was neat and well located. I would recommend it for sure.
The guest house is beautiful, clean and comfortable!
I can really recommend the Wind Pump! The only recommendation I can make is to put a mirror in the room for ladies who want to do their hair.
The directions were very good. We were kindly received. I am a tall man with back problems, but I woke up refreshed and rested. I have already recommended them to my friends.
The room was clean and well tended to. There was parking available in the property for our vehicle. My only criticism was on the shower. All I wanted after the long drive was a nice hot shower, but the water coming out of the shower was either boiling or freezing and not a pleasant flow. The owners were there to greet us and were very welcoming. I marked the one safety down purely because coming from Jhb where we never leave our gates open.
The room was very neat and clean and the beds slept well, but a bit spartanly equipped compared to other similar guesthouses in the same price range: no air conditioning and TV. A chair and small table are also missing.
The facilities are quite meager. In our room were only 2 beds, a table and a bathroom. Although very neat and clean, I don't think it's value for money when I look at the facilities.
Very calm and quiet.
Very nice stay. Accommodation received with kindness.
The Windpump was adequate for the price I paid.
