36 guests' feedbackThe house with some of the most beautiful views of 'Die Hel' we had a wonderful time in the neat house. I would definitely recommend the place to stay.
Had a great time!
The house is spacious for a large group of guests. The house is tidy and has everything needed for self-catering. The washing machine is a bonus.
Dikbek se Plek is situated in the ideal location, i.e. spectacular view and positioned away from busy crowds.
Needs a few upgrades as kettle lid broken, dustbin lid broken, and light in spare room not working, but otherwise lovely view and all you need. Only one plate on stove working.
We enjoyed our break very much. The location offers a breathtaking view of the sea and cliff. It was stage 6 load shedding, but it didn't put a damper on our weekend. The peaceful atmosphere and many places to visit in the area was a big plus. We can't wait to go back. We felt very safe and never worried about criminal elements.
Really a nice place. Quietly located, with a very nice view. Exactly what we were looking for. All that was missing were basic things like coffee, tea, sugar and salt that one would expect in an accommodation.
Wonderful house with beautiful sea view. We rested, barbecued and explored the village. We will definitely come again.
Good location and comfortable house with lots of space. Could do with some refurbishing. No two teaspoons are the same, there are no tongs, the pan is crooked and won't fit on the stove, only 5 dining room chairs. Nothing serious, but for the price I expect at least the basics. We will still be back.
Very nice place.
Home away from home in beautiful surroundings.
Comfortable home. Very clean and cozy. We don't always feel immediately at home in other houses, but we weren't tight-lipped.
Will definitely use them again. Host very efficient. The house met our needs exactly.
We always measure accommodation with the question: "Will I use the accommodation again"? The answer for Dikbek's Place is a clear "Yes".
Why is check out at 9 am though?
The indoor barbecue was lovely as it was cold and windy when we were there. There is everything one needs for an overnight stay, or even much longer.
Will book again.
For me, it's just an experience to be at the sea and to be able to do it with my family is the best. And it's a peaceful town with friendly people.
We went for my baby's 1st birthday and really enjoyed it. View was great and accommodation was perfectly laid out.
Strandfontein is a very peaceful village, if you want to call it a village. There is a cafe that provides the necessary and Kommetjie Restaurant where we often went to eat! And that's it, nothing more and nothing less and that's probably the reason why it's peaceful and quiet. Doringbaai, which is 10 km from Strandfontein, has a Trading House and a small fresh seafood shop, so if Strandfontein's little cafe can't help you, stop by Doringbaai and simply enjoy a meal at Seespens. As already mentioned, Dikbek exceeded all our expectations and the big bonus was that our puppy was allowed and could roam freely in the yard without having to be looked after. What stands out: the unobstructed view of the sea, the roar of the waves no matter which way the wind comes from and the quality of linen provided. Alan with whom we made arrangements for the key is a very pleasant person and willing to go the extra mile should it be necessary. However, it was not necessary because everything we needed was available.
The location is perfect. Close to the beach and restaurant.
We'll be back! This place has everything you could need, amazing value for money and the location is quite spectacular! Alan was such a helpful host and it was a pleasure working with him! We can't wait to plan our next visit here.
The place are big and neat. Couldn't ask for a better place. I would recommend this house to anyone.
The view where we have been staying was the best. The sunset over the ocean was breathtaking. Everything was beautiful.
Quiet area with beautiful accommodation and sea views. With villages located relatively close, a day visit even to Nieuwoudtville with all its hidden attractions was possible and informative.
This was our first visit to Standfontein. Was part of our flower-watching road trip. Beautiful village with a beautiful bay and we were surprised with the many flowers! Extra bonus after our visit to distant Namaqualand's flowers. Our accommodation, Dikbek, was very beautiful, with beautiful views of rock formations and the sea. The house is very nice, tidy and comfortable. Clean. Lovely down duvet for the cold nights we were there. You can see the owners are proud and in their place. The reception and handover of key by Alan was very friendly and helpful. Great stay! Should have even extended it!
Best place we have stayed in a long time with the most beautiful view with everything one needs.
Beautiful view and house has everything you could possibly need!
The place is very peaceful and beautiful. House is neat and has everything you'll need.
Kitchen cupboards full of owners possessions. Would be nice to have at least one empty cupboard for food storage.
Quiet and peaceful place, very safe.
House has enough breakware. Not just 6 of everything. Large fridge and freezer and braai facilities. TV and washing machine.
Well located. Clean and tidy. Very nice stay.
We had an incredibly nice rest. The area is very quiet, so you sleep well. We would highly recommend the place to people who want to come and rest.
There must be restrictions on day visitors at the braai area - it must be ensured that they clean up their rubbish on departure. Strandfontein such a beautiful place - has so much potential.
Beautiful view, but family photos and groceries in the kitchen cupboards make you feel like an intruder who violates the owner's privacy.
