Guests can make use of the cold water swimming pool or enjoy the other activities that are on offer, including bird watching, mini-golf, trampolines, cycling and paintball target shooting. Children can also make use of the jungle gym that is available.
With deep holes and rapids, Dimalachite is the ideal fishing venue for fly fish fishing and bank fishing. Guests can fish for carp, yellow fish, mud fish and barbel. Fishing at Dimalachite River Lodge & Nature Resort has a strict "catch and release" policy. Rafts can be rented, or you can bring your own. Guided fishing trips can also be arranged.
One of the most popular activities for the more adventurous clients is white-water rafting. We offer an approximate 4 hour long Mild to Wild river rafting trip, as well as the more relaxed about 1,5 hour long Gate to Dome trip. Guests are welcome to partake in a sunset cruise on the rafts and end off with snacks or a bonfire braai.
Dimalachite has oryx, sable antelope, red hartebeest, zebra, duiker, impala, springbok, nyala and kudu on the farm. Self-drive game drives can be booked at reception.
The lodge also offers team-building activities, a boma, and conference facilities for school, corporate and private groups.
Surrounded by water, wildlife and nature, where the call of the fish eagle can be heard from time to time, the lodge offers a tranquil and natural environment in which to relax.

32 guests' feedbackVery clean and tidy, friendly people and very good service. The fishing was very good. Recommend it anytime.
Definitely one of the camping sites on the Vaal River that is thoroughly worth the effort. Strict rules regarding music and noise mean that one can fully enjoy the beauty of nature and the sounds. The ablutions were so clean you could eat off the floors. The staff is friendly, and if you want to walk around Paris, it's a stone's throw away.
Restful. Beautiful scenery. Bathrooms clean and tidy.
Very nice camping and fishing. The staff were very helpful.
Was lovely, quiet, clean and tidy. Everyone very friendly. Pool was incredibly pleasant to swim in.
Great time in nature. Enjoyed the tranquility.
Will definitely be back, just not in winter, was rather chilly with the lows being around -2 degrees. The lodge had everything you could possibly need and more, there are heaters, etc. We are just not used to that type of cold.
For a weekend break away, it is not far from home and there are ablution blocks for the ladies.
Would just like to suggest that accommodation be provided with candles/lamps with all the power outages or that guests are forewarned to bring the necessary.
A nice camping weekend.
Will definitely return.
Peaceful and quiet, but the dirt road in a terrible state.
Very peaceful place. Well located. There were one or two small things wrong, but the team sorted them out quickly. I will definitely go back again. Just put a roof over the braai for when it rains.
Customer service is brilliant! Sent someone out immediately when we had trouble with the shower. Very friendly service!
It had been a lovely break by the river with the osprey's call breaking the silence. The campsite is nice and clean and the services are neat. Will camp here again for sure, maybe just next summer.
Would recommend it for the peace and quiet.
Very nice area, especially if you want to fish.
Expected more. Accommodation was not worth the price. Although it was clean. Tables of loin lamb, an incredible amount of ants, no poison.
Lovely pool. Great space for cycling and walking. Lots of extra activities available if you are willing to pay for them. Conveniently located just outside Paris. Friendly staff and neat units with sufficient amenities.
We had great time. Great service.
We had a nice time. The chalet and barbecue areas were clean. The barbecue areas are also cleaned every morning. Soft drinks are nice and cold at the kiosk. Pleasant people. Quiet relaxed atmosphere.
Very clean and will recommend it.
Wonderful getaway, in the heart of nature! Quiet, just what one needs to unwind.
The chalets are neat and have a nice view of the river. The resort has strict rules on noise pollution and we have been very much appreciated to experience nature and even hear an osprey from time to time. And of course, Paris, with all its fine dining options, is just 20 minutes drive away. We could see there are serious fishermen who have lovely campsites right on the river bank. Dimalachite will definitely see us again!
Excellent, friendly and accommodating staff in a wonderful environment.
Nice place to visit for a romantic holiday.
We had a wonderful rest over the weekend. Was able to enjoy a much needed break. It's neat with beautiful nature. The lodge has very good beds and the necessary facilities for a weekend. We will definitely go there again.
After reading all the positive reviews we were quite disappointed with the resort upon arrival. The terrain was bitterly dry and grass but sparse. At least reception was nice enough to let us exchange a full sun pitch for one with coolness. The pool is right next to the ablution block, which leads to people littering the place. The B-block is also not very clean, sanitary napkins are thrown in a big drum by the door but the people don't close the lid and it attracts a lot of flies and bad smells. It's a shame that campers can't all just leave a place the way they found it. Unfortunately I don't feel it was value for money.
The resort is on the banks of the Vaal River. We would have camped but due to the rain we decided to rent one of the rondavels instead. They were neat and well equipped. Then they upgraded us to a lodge without asking more for it - luxurious and efficient! There is a tuck shop and the resort can organise activities for guests, such as river rafting. The place is well kept and very relaxing. They also have their own game there. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. The resort is fenced and one feels safe inside. People with young children should be careful due to the river, though. An angle fishing paradise, and the tuck shop caters for fishermen.
Our stay was wonderful. The location is great. Staff is friendly. We stayed in a cottage for 7 people (we were 6 adults) and it was a bit tight for so many people, would say the size of the cottage is more suitable for 4 people, especially in the evenings when it's cold, where you are inside want to sit I was sorry to hear that you are not allowed to drive your own car to see wildlife. We had a great stay and would recommend it to people. The facilities were very neat and clean. We will visit them again.
I was a bit disappointed. We were there for a longweekend in December. It is beautiful by the river, but the resort isn't well looked after. The photos give a nicer picture than the reality. Weeds on the putt putt course grew to knee height between the cracks. The lodge we stayed in had a lovely patio where you could chill, but there were only 2 chairs and a small coffee table, while the unit had space for 2 adults and 2 children. Thus there wasn't enough place to sit for everyone, we asked the staff of the resort for a table and chairs and they brought some for us.
