Delicious! The best getaway with small children on the farm. Safe, peaceful and breathtakingly beautiful. Might as well be a romantic getaway for next time.

A piece of Eden in Montagu. My family and I really enjoyed our stay at Doornkloof. It is truly a beautiful place. As we drove in, we were greeted with spectacular views. Riana, the host, was kind and friendly, making us feel welcome. We loved the place and will definitely go there again.
This cottage is perfect. It's charming and comfortable, with everything you need. The hosts are kind and accommodating and the view is beautiful. I highly recommend this remote hideaway.
Worth the long drive on the gravel road. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay nestled between a few mountains. The kids could not get enough of the splash pool. Would definitely make a booking in future again.

Such a great time at this hidden gem. I will definitely go again! The hot pool was an absolute winner. Just stomp him as soon as you get there since he's pretty big. You are surrounded with mountains and valleys. We could go for a walk in the gorges and then enjoy the hot pool. The braai inside the house rounds off the place nicely. What a great weekend away we had surrounded by a beautiful landscape. This little house away from it all was a fantastic place for our small family to relax and unwind. Great communication from host Riana and the place had everything we needed. Just bring clothes and food to prepare! We really enjoyed the surroundings and its tranquility. The stay was outstanding. The accommodation is very well equipped. Our host is focused on the little things that make a big difference from other places, such as e.g. the nut coffee. Great stay!

We really enjoyed our time there as a couple and plans are ready to go again. When I walked in, I couldn't help but say to Riana: It's a very beautiful place. Old mixed with modern. And her hospitality was just one of her highlights for the start of the weekend for my wife. So the beginning was already great. And furthermore, the visit was just lovely in nature away from the busy outside world. Late afternoons lying in the waters and looking over nature, and only getting out of the waters late at night. Look, it was breathtaking. Tranquility at its best.

The road to the actual accommodation was not the best but fortunately we had everything we needed and there was no need to drive out for anything. The hosts were awesome from the time we arrived until we left. the fact that their sweet, cute and friendly little puppy was around with them was a plus! Would definitely recommend it to anyone and everyone!
Peaceful and serene. Everything I've imagined it to be. Riana and Jaco was always there, amazing hospitality from them. The house is absolutely beautiful. The views are so worth it.
The farm life is amazing and the stay was fantastic.
We spent our 31 wedding anniversary there and I couldn't think of a better place to have spent the weekend. The place was beautifully decorated, loved the crockery that was hand made by Riana. The view was breathtaking and Riana made it special with little surprises everywhere.
It was really pleasant to be able to visit there for the weekend, the host is very friendly and it's really very peaceful there.
The chalet was beautiful with all comfort, even more than you should expect. The hot tub was an excellent idea.

Doornkloof and the hosts are amazing! We had the best long weekend and enjoyed every single second! When they heard it was my birthday they brought a bottle of champagne and the most beautiful rose! When we arrived yummie beskuit and a muskadel was waiting on us. They put on the hot tub for us and kept adding wood to make it nice and warm. Beste diens ooit! Weereens baie dankie julle vir alles! Stylish, minimalistic with attention to detail. Handmade cutlery by hostess special, as well as biscuits, welcome chocolate and wood are appreciated. Nothing was too much trouble for host and hostess ─ we felt very welcome. Well equipped for a getaway, everything we could need. Suitable for summer or winter. Heated pool a bonus. Hospitable. Delicious, safe walk in nature. Definitely a place to visit again.
If you like nature this is just the place. Very beautiful view with beautiful nature around you and the tranquility simply gives you a zest for life again. The house is very nice and well equipped with everything you need. Very good service and very nice people.
I cannot recommend Doornkloof enough! Everything was just perfect. The three of us (wife and son (4)) had a wonderful family time away in the peaceful valley that the farm is located. The accommodation itself had everything we needed. Was well maintained, clean with high quality linen and towels and we were well looked after by Riana. We'll be back!
We had such a great time on Doornkloof. It's so nice and peaceful there. Riana left the most delicious home-made biscuits for us to enjoy, a nice Mascadel and a surprise for each on our beds. They went out of their way for us to make sure we as a family had a fun and comfortable time.

Doornkloof is a very unique place. The road ends at the bottom of Doornkloof after a breathtaking route through the Kooberge. There is nothing nearby and the silence is incredible. There is also no light pollution so stargazing is as good as it gets. Riana has an eye for decoration and the house is tastefully decorated. It is very comfortable and we had a wonderful stay. Will be back again for sure!
A very practical little house around the corner from the farmhouse. We always felt safe, Riana, the farmer's wife, spoiled us with home-baked biscuits, a Montagu sweet wine and all kinds of other treats. She decorated the house herself, beautifully, with a lot of attention to detail. We snuggled in front of a big hearth and relaxed through the freezing cold. There is a swimming pool as well (it can be heated). The view leaves you gasping for breath. The area is full of activities. We went fishing at the Foerelplaas (successfully pulled out 2), we packed our mountain bikes (very steep roads, but I'm a beginner, my husband let wind, a 15 km circular route or all the way to tarmac, about 30 km there and back), and we walked the farm flat. Children disappeared with their bikes for hours, played in the river, went looking for adventure etc. just like in the old days before the screens. Came back nice and dirty. There is no reception, but there is WiFi - so Whatsapp. All in all just great. I'm back in one piece, ready to take on the corporate world. Thank you, Riana.
The house is so modern, neat and clean. It is equipped with everything one needs - you literally just bring food and clothes. Thank you very much for a wonderful stay experience. The view is beautiful, the silence on the farm, the delicious fireplace - what more could one want during a break from the city? We will definitely visit Doornkloof again - our city lads are jealous of your beautiful farm and thank you for letting us have a taste of it.
