It's actually a nice house, but needs some renovation. Too few towels were put out. There are too few buddies in the bathroom and dog hair on the sofas and blankets. The banks need a deep clean. The water in the geyser must also be heated. The shower was not clean.
We had a great time in Blanche's very neat, clean, well-equipped house. A real just get in your car and come visit, here's everything you need. And a fantastic Spar literally around the corner for your shopping. I would recommend this accommodation without hesitation.
We got delayed and then roads were closed so we were very late. Was not an issue for Blanch. Just a really pleasant experience all round.

The house was very clean. Everything worked fine. Had a nice shower and slept. Surroundings are deathly quiet. If you want to rest, this is the ideal place. Also a gas stove for power outages. Good hostess.
A big bonus was the inverter that allowed all lights, TV and fridge to work during loadshedding. The full DStv package was much appreciated, as were the books and games. Blanche was friendly and helpful. The gardens are beautiful. The cottage is well equipped with everything that one needs to be comfortable.

Although Driftwood self-catering home does not have a sea view, it is located in a clean and tidy part of town. The price is very reasonable for the neat accommodation and friendly service.

The first surprise was the size of the apartment. The kitchen is small, but has everything you need. However, the bedrooms are spacious and there are also electric blankets that are quickly switched on in the evening when the cold sets in. There are two full bathrooms that will make any woman's heart happy. Although the patio with its built-in braai does not look out on the sea, you look out on a lovely little garden teeming with birdlife. The DStv and WiFi were extremely useful when the weather turned against us. It was just a nice break.

We were warmly received and had a wonderful stay in this beautiful and well-equipped house. The only negative point was that the secure parking was only open parking in front of the garage. For us paranoid Gautengers, safe parking is under lock and key! However, we were accommodated and the hostess let her car sleep outside so that our motorcycle could be locked in the garage. Quiet, tranquil, and homey.
It is a very pleasant place to spend the night or stay for a few days. You can drive everywhere to all the nearby towns. None of them are too far to go just for the day. The beach area is of course the best for walking as far as you like. There are plenty of places to eat. It is a perfect place to rest and do whatever you want.
Will definitely stay here again. The time was just too short. There are nice board games in the living room. Thank you Blanche, you will definitely see us again.
We visited the Western Cape on a 13 day tour from Wellington through the Cederberge, Kamieskroon and Upington, starting from Pretoria. Driftwood was spacious and clean. It had all the neccessities required for a self-catering holiday. Nothing was short or inadequate. Service was excellent and friendly. Of the 5 places we visited, it stood out. All the others had some "problem" eg. not sufficiently equipped or cramped or insufficient freezer space. Driftwood had none of these problems. It is not on the beach front, but is within walking distance from the sea shore. Apart from all this, it also rated amongst the cheapest and thus the most cost effective. If we should visit the West Coast again, this would be our first choice to stay at.
