Each unit also features a kitchenette that contains a two-stove, a bar fridge and the necessary crockery to utilise.
For those who do not want to bring and prepare their own food; meals and selected beverages can be arranged at an extra cost. The lodge also has a communal entertainment area, which features 2 large braai areas, a pool table, a dartboard and ablution facilities.
Duiwekloof Lodge is solar and gas powered. The lodge is the ideal base from which to explore the bird and wildlife that reside within the reserve.

51 guests' feedbackWe camped at Duiwekloof with family and had a fantastic time there. Duiwekloof was a perfect base from which to explore Baviaanskloof. It was a bit too far to drive to Patensie, but we could still drive calmly to the conservation area and back. Duiwekloof's hiking trails are also fantastic and the organ cave trail was our favourite.
Best stay. The hottest shower ever. We will definitely go again. Toko has been very good.

We celebrated our 23rd wedding anniversary. It was so nice and relaxing. We stayed in the Leopards Cave (honeymoon suite). The house has everything you need. The bedroom, living room and bathroom were beautiful and well thought out. The service was friendly, and the cottage and grounds were nicely clean. I would definitely like to visit again, and would recommend it to anyone looking to get away from the noise.

The environment is breathtaking and you need 2 days to really enjoy it. The accommodation is below average. We had to pay a R200 deposit for breakages, only to find a glass in our room that was already cracked. When we reported it, it was confirmed that they were aware of it, why not replace it before your guests arrive? The linen and bedding are very old. The mattress is hollow and uncomfortable.
My partner and I wanted an adventure - and that is exactly what we got. The road through the Baviaanskloof was amazing and awe-inspiring. The accommodation at Duiwekloof Lodge was just what we wanted with all the necessities supplied and more. The cavern is so cosy and romantic. The Duiwekloof Lodge staff were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay immensely and would go back in a heartbeat.

We have been going to Duiwekloof for the last 4 years, the place is just blissful and beautiful. Tokko and Austin who run the place are always friendly and helpful. We have stayed in every unit, it is always clean and tidy. There are several walking routes and their 2 dogs like to walk together. The plunge pool is always a bonus to cool off in. We just love Duiwekloof, a perfect place to rest and switch off from the city's hustle and bustle.
The silence in the evening with clear constellations and other night sounds is just amazing.

The lady running it was delightful and exceptionally helpful and accommodating. The rooms were comfortable and cosy which was great because it was a very cold night.
The chalets are very cold inside, but there is plenty of bedding and a gas heater but there is no microwave etc. because there is no electricity - although there is no cell phone signal, there is Wi-Fi but one cannot connect. Rooms are okay-ish but concrete painted floors don't do me good.

The 48km dirt road through the Baviaanspoort is worth driving. Peaceful atmosphere with everything one needs.
Booked camping, their rate was the most expensive on our entire tour. Along with that, the stand was covered with ants, so take ant poison with you! On the door at the reception area is a yellow sign that says "CAMPERS Not allowed", wow, so our money is good enough but not our presence.
We were kindly received, and the room offered everything we needed. The surroundings are beautiful and you can enjoy a walk from the lodge. Dinner was reasonably priced but could have been more attractive.
Will recommend Duiwekloof. The service is excellent. It is neat, peaceful, and staff amazing and doesn't shy away to help you. The trails where you can walk are comfortable and all of the attractions are easily reachable. Unbelievably pretty located in the valley.
It was truly a time that we will never forget, because it was a nice forest experience and the workers' kindness was genuine and we were so grateful that they made our time so enjoyable for us to forget about all the stress .
Gas heater and enough blankets made the overnight stay in the, sorry with minus temperatures outside, quite acceptable! Staff friendly and helpful.
Excellent location from where to explore the Baviaanskloof.
I was originally there for the Karoo 2 Coast mountain bike race and it was bad that I couldn't charge my mobile with smaller type wall plugs. Otherwise, the service and accommodation was great value for money.
We were surprised with the nice lapa kitchen and braai facilities for the campers. The walking paths are fantastic and we had a great time in a very beautiful environment. Will definitely return here.

The accommodation was very cozy with a beautiful surrounding mountain range. The farm and the house give you the full Baboon adventure you are looking for in a place away from the city and busy life. No cell phone and TV, so you can relax and enjoy nature.
Very nice location, will go there again, but next time rather in one of the detached houses. Note that there is no electricity in the rooms. So go there prepared. There is electricity and WiFi at the braai/hangout area.
The owner of Duiwekloof is not kind at all. The accommodation I book was not prepared and she wanted to decide for us where we should stay. She also made rude remarks. Totally inappropriate. Also spoke to me as if I am her child. I am a guesthouse owner as well, so I know exactly how a booking works. The manager was not there, but the cleaner Cynthia was very helpful and pleasant. Plastic glasses and - coffee mugs were also not what I expected for the price. Bedding was very clean, but old and washed out. This all does not match the price. Very sorry for all the negative as the location and whole setup is actually beautiful.
We loved our 1 night stay at Duiwekloof Lodge. Very peaceful and beautiful. Clean ablutions, friendly staff (Austin) and perfect camp sites positioning. Stunning rock pool, a real hidden gem.
Wonderful lodge in Baviaanskloof. The rooms are very well decorated, with all you need. Kind crew. Only sour note, the regular absence of the owners, that deprive the visitors of an important source of information about the surroundings, that the crew don't know.
The room was clean and neat with everything I needed. Really enjoyed the peace and quiet.
