Value for money is hard to beat. At the price, you will struggle to find accommodation of the same value, with similar comfort, security, customer service and overall peace of mind. I've been visiting over 25 venues over the last 12 years, stretching from Lambertsbay, all along the west-, south and east coasts up to PE, but this has been the best (at the price) so far. Keeping in mind that I've always required self-catering, loose standing, with private braai area and secure parking, close to the sea.
Picturesque beaches, and very clean and tidy accommodation. Will definitely go again.
I would recommend Dwarswegstrandoord to everyone. It does not matter if you are alone, only with your spouse, family with children or older people. It is safe, close to the beach, very neat and just an amazing place to unwind and enjoy nature.

Please note note that geysers work before guests check in. The emergency number is also not answered on a Saturday night and I could not get hold of the website either (even though it said I could call until midnight). Thanks to the resort who came to fix the geyser immediately on Sunday. Other than that, no complaints. Thank you very much.

The view over the sea is very beautiful. For us personally, the place was a little small, will book a little bigger next time. The seating in the living room was two chairs with which there is nothing wrong but after a while it was a bit uncomfortable. I will definitely holiday there again, it is very peaceful and safe.

Discovered this gem and will definitely go again and again! What a bunch of friendly people! You simply switch off quickly with the sea so close to you and to fall asleep with the sound of waves in the background, heavenly! The unit was also nice and clean with all the essentials. No man, this place is 5 star!
Excellent place for the perfect getaway. People went out of their way to get us a grill for our braai.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Accommodation safe, tidy and clean. The sea and waves were very beautiful and close to the sea every morning. Just bring your own wood and grill.

We had a great time - even if the weather didn't cooperate. The fact that we could see the ocean from our front porch definitely made up for it. The two bedroom oceanfront units are truly a winner! The cottage has everything for two guests. There is also a shop with basic necessities on site, as well as washing machines and a tumble dryer. We are already planning our next getaway.
I really enjoyed my stay. The places are nicely redone (I liked the old wooden furniture more). I would like to suggest that they replace the double mattress in the cottage.
We had a wonderful overnight stay. Safety gate or a fan would be welcome. A table on the porch will go a long way to compensate for the small but well-equipped kitchen. Would definitely stay there again.

Everything is so modern and neat and the chalet was much bigger than we expected. Overlooking the ocean in the morning with a cup of coffee from the deck was so nice. Kids could just go to the beach to swim and we could see them from The deck. We stayed at KO7 and KO8 was really a good break we needed after COVID-19.
The units are neatly furnished. The availability of nice dry wood was a plus for me. The staff is very friendly.

Absolutely value for money!
It was calming to be so close to the sea, hear and smell it. The residents of Dwarswegstrand are also very friendly.
Ideally located between Mossel Bay and George. If you're out of the hustle and bustle but close enough to experience it, you'd prefer it. Take the dirt roads inland and explore with the sea in the background. Had a great stay and had a great time.

What was advertised is not what we got. We were in an apartment behind other apartments. Not at all the sea view as suggested. Had to keep the door and curtains closed all day so that the people in the very nearby apartment could not see what was in our plates.
Seafront Unit KO4 was well equipped and very quiet and peaceful with a beautiful 180 degree view of the clean beach and sea.

We stayed in the 2 bed cottage right by the beach (K03). Really nice place with everything we needed and more. The twin needed some sort of bedside table or proper shelf. The stoep was stunning and had marvellous views. The staff was helpful and friendly. The resort was clean. I wish I could pack it up and move it closer to home. The bathroom could also use a shelf for toiletries (there was a small over-the-sink cabinet with mirror). The stool was a rather nice touch. The only negative was that the toilet door just gets stuck.
Was very nice. Just assumed there would be towels, and sponges to wash pots nice and clean. But otherwise top class. Card facilities at store will also help a lot.
I recommend this accommodation to anyone, from vacationer to business traveller.

The place was small but perfect for the two of us. We saw dolphins every morning from the little apartment's porch. It was very nice to be so close to the beach. The other residents on the resort also took the other people into consideration which was also nice and made our holiday even more enjoyable. I just want to say a big thank you to the people at Dwarswegstrand and hope to see you again soon. I would recommend the resort to anyone young and old.

We certainly enjoyed our visit. The campsite is very close to the beach. Had a nice walk on the beach and kids swam. The bathroom facilities were clean and tidy and each camp had its own built-in braai. The atmosphere was very peaceful and quiet.

The 6-bed cottages are comfortable and fully equipped. However, it is not a luxury stay, but has everything needed. The beachfront homes are located very close to the beach, the views are fantastic and you can hear the sea, especially at night, which is very nice. Will recommend the houses on the beachfront definitely. Very good value for money especially if rented before the peak season.
Just a thought: the feather pillow didn't work so well with my allergies but apart from that I slept wonderfully warm and spent a lovely peaceful Saturday on the beach with my family.
Booking and reception were excellent. Walking distance to beach with miles of white sand beaches. Good combination of sheltered and right on the sea pitches. Close to Groot Brak River for shopping and dining. Ablution facilities are good, but it would be good to pave entrances to prevent the ingress of grass and soil onto the white teals.

Nees some maintenance, bathroom reeked of urine because of the wooden floorboards. Rule of thumb is usually one roll of toilet paper per day per toilet, and it wasn't the case there. Fans would be a great investment, and a decent braai, social area outside, and cleaning products in the kitchen. They can add it to the tariff so that you can do the dishes properly. Had difficulty cleaning the stove because the hot plates were in a terrible state. The ovenpan was dirty and we had to buy cleaning products to clean it. Friendly reception at the gate. Not bad at this price and the area is really beautiful.

I would recommend Dwarswegstrandoord to anyone, the accommodation is very affordable, the view fantastic, very tidy and the kitchen is fully equipped. There are grills at every outdoor barbecue. I booked the units for my son's birthday and some uninvited guests from my son's acquaintances showed up and took the place by the horns, but the resort owner and I cleared it up and there are no more bad feelings . Very clean and functional. We only stayed one night and didn't take towels with us which was a big problem. Nowhere in any correspondence was it indicated that we should bring our own towels. Almost had a crisis, but at least we get to rent at reception. Good value for money but communication with customers could improve.
We had break ins on the Saturday and would not recommend to other people. Security needs to patroll.

The resort's accommodation offering consists of 11 houses each sleeping 2 to 8 people and 9 flats each sleeping 2 people right on the beach front as well as 9 non seafront chalets each sleeping 5 people as well as a caravan park with 34 stands. All the units are well equipped and has selected DSTV channels. Linen is supplied, but guests must please bring their own towels.
The caravan park is very neat with 11 grass stands and 23 paved stands and has electric points and water. The ablution facility is clean and equipped with a laundry room.
There is a shop at the offices where guest can buy basics such as wood, ice, ice cream, cool drinks, bread, milk, sweets etc. There is also a supermarket close by, about 8 km, for other groceries.
Dwarswegstrandoord is very centrally located and close to golf courses, bowls rink, as well as various other tourist attractions.
