37 guests' feedbackBeautiful place and we had a great stay.
Peaceful and safe overnight stay for me and the pooches once again. Especially love waking up to that view and being able to have a great morning walk through the valley with my dogs.
We stayed in the main cabin with the most spectacular view over the waterfall. The wooden cottage was great and had everything we needed, including WiFi. Our two dogs were most welcomed by our host and loved being able to move around freely with us (the cottage is not fenced, but the balustrade is dog-proof). There are lots of excellent walks on the farm that we still want to come back and explore more.
Comfortable accommodation with beautiful views of the mountains and walking distance to a large waterfall.
Very nice place to stay with very nice people.
Beautiful place hidden between the mountains with the sounds of waterfalls in your ears as you relax. Very safe. A paradise for the three Jack Russels.
Everything was clean and tidy. Michael goes out of his way to make sure you are comfortable. Thank you that we could once again recharge our batteries with you.
From the moment we landed at Eagle Falls we were warmly welcomed by Michael and his team and immediately felt at home. The main chalet has a beautiful view of the pools and the waterfall. Everything is clean and tidy. Even with load shedding provision has been made for emergency lights. We will definitely visit again and bring quite a few friends.
We enjoyed our stay at Eagle Falls Country Lodge. The cabin was equipped with the bare necessities, which could have included a welcome brochure detailing general park and cabin information, as well as important contact numbers. There is no cellphone reception other than WiFi at a fee, which was erratic at times. We had some issues with our 2 x 4 SUV vehicle coming to and from the main cabin due to the steepness and sandiness of the road, but the owner was more than willing to assist as needed. The staff were friendly and accommodating, serving a great farmhouse breakfast and joining us for an entertaining game of pool at the bar. Great views from the cabin and great sunsets!
Reception by Renaldo was very friendly, he helped us with every demand. The wood for the fire was dry.
Awesome stay, enjoyed the tranquility.
The views are incredibly stunning in this truly tranquil location far from all civilisation. The rock pools were lovely to swim in, great way to cool down on a hot summers day. The food was however substandard, I would suggest bringing your own food for your stay as there is only one restaurant in the whole vicinity and it is too far in the mountain to drive out for better food. There are a lot of creatures that come in to the cabin, you must not have a fear for insects if you decide to take this retreat, or else it wont be very restful. I was very disappointed that the website wasn't updated to indicate that there is no longer quad-biking available, and you must bring your own gun for the shooting range. I was mostly looking forward to quad-biking, which was also why I chose the location.
Very safe, in nature, without any city noise. Surrounded by mountains, trees and birds!
Bathrooms need urgent attention.
Possibly one of the best places I have stayed at, wish I had stayed longer to experience a bit more of the area. Great hosts.
Unfortunately, we only stayed one night which was too short. Will stay longer next time.
Ek oordryf nie as ek sê 1000% waarde vir geld. Ons is so hartlik ontvang en op die hande gedra. Atmosphere is ongelooflik. Die beste tyd gehad, tydjie was net heeltemal te kort. Pragtige natuurskoon. Beautiful views. Net wat ons nodig gehad het. Te min sterretjies om te rate.
The reception was warm and the accommodation is located in the most beautiful environment where you are secluded between mountains and streams.
What a lovely little house in between the mountains. Would have loved to stay longer.
Great get away location if you are looking to relax and get away from the fast city life for a few days.
I had to book this at the last minute as my original plans fell through. Travelling with my husband and his brother our accommodation requirements are specific and it meant a lot of messages backwards and forwards. The main chalet was far more expensive than the cabins but had the privacy we required, so we took it. For the price we expected luxury. The (dirt) road to the chalet was incredibly steep and we listened to the reception who said many people don't drive down to it. The chalet was clean, but minimally though adequately equipped. Taps were loose - I could push them from side to side! Key from the bedroom out was missing. I found reception not very hospitable. The scenery was awesome. No pamphlets or documentation on available walks. I asked at reception and got minimal info. Trails are poorly marked and we eventually went back not sure that the trail would lead back.
Sub-standard facilities - chips in the crockery, worn-out kitchen cupboards, mold in the shower, old bedding and furniture. And on top of it all you get 1-ply toilet paper!
It was our first holiday, we decided to camp there for 4 days for Christmas. Because they market like that and have all the activities there on their site, but it wasn't like that, it was said there was a swimming pool, horse riding, abseiling, quad bikes, nothing there. I asked the owner when he didn't do it anymore, I was very upset, when I asked about the pool he said he was swimming in Berg's Dam, but on the website they say there is a pool. There is only WiFi at the bar, not at the campsite. No horses and things and the dirt road is really not nice to drive with your car, there were also signs like they were driving from all activities but it's not like that. I am very unhappy that I only stayed there one night out of 3 nights that we paid for. Until today the owner or management has not contacted us about our issues, probably because we are not as important as other guests staying at the lodge, but I am unhappy because it would be first camp, and all the money we spend to buy things Very very disappointed, why are they advertising stuff they don't do?
Very friendly and hospitable reception with pleasant bar and comfortable restaurant. Most beautiful surroundings with lovely walking trails. Units are quite old but comfortable, breakables could be refurbished.
The service, the view and the accommodation were all fantastic! Just not sure how clean the place was, there was a bowl of old meat in the fridge when we got there, bedding had a few marks on it and there was no toilet paper, but it's a fantastic break and I will definitely go again.
Nice area but rooms too close to each other. The restaurant is more of a bar and doesn't create a friendly atmosphere, it's more of a sports bar type of place.
Unbelievable! Most beautiful place ever, delicious food, will definitely go again.
The cottages are already quite old and it looks like basic maintenance has not been done for a long time, for example kitchen faucet that does not want to turn completely, shower faucet has come completely loose. Furthermore, our view was fantastic and we did sleep well.
Eagle Falls' location is fantastic - and the no cell phone reception makes for good disconnection from the outside world. You literally become a part of nature at Eagle Falls. We (4 adults and 1 child) had to change our booking dates at short notice, but were immediately met by Michael. The "cabin" we were assigned was an absolute disappointment. The unit does not have 2 bedrooms, but rather 1 bedroom with 2 single beds that filled the entire living area. A door from the bedroom leads straight into the bar and is locked from inside the bar. Furthermore, the door is not completely full - the music from the bar is louder in the bedroom than in the bar next door. Despite many requests one night to turn the TV down because of a sleeping 2 year old in the room, we were only told it would be done in a little while. That stretch took a few hours to set in. A wall box is right in front of the sink - so you have to stand by the drying area to wash dishes. Furthermore, the door racks of the fridge were gone, the freezer had no partition and the fridge door was held in place with a piece of wire. The unit may be suitable for a parent couple with a child/ers, but not for 2 adult couples with a child as our booking was made. There is also little privacy at the cabins - when you sit on your porch or have a barbecue, your neighbor is a few steps away from you. No partition/privacy between the cabins. However, the hospitality at Eagle Falls is top notch and the meals we ordered from the kitchen were delicious! Will definitely visit Eagle Falls again, but will stay overnight at the chalets rather than the cabins. (Note, we were never told that changing the dates would cause a problem or result in a sub-standard cabin).
Really enjoyed our stay. Relaxing on the deck with beautiful mountain and waterfall views.
At late notice, we got accommodation in a camping ground through excellent service from Leckeslaap over the internet. Reception was very friendly and helpful. Owner personally pointed out campsite for us. Amenities are decent and spotless. Very nice grass and trees in the campsite. Amazing view and many activities to do. We felt very welcome in the informal and well-run resort. The self help reception was great.
It really is a special place.
We received no accommodation and was stranded in the middle of nowhere on Easter wekend, as Management made a double booking. Poor management of the establishment!
Very nice area in mountains. Road is not pretty. We drive a Kia Sportage and struggled on dirt roads. Need a 4x4 preferably. Especially if you want to go to the ponds for fishing, could not go there by car. Our accommodation was dirty, it was definitely not cleaned. Previous people who stayed there still had their food in the microwave, and the reason is probably because the microwave didn't work at all. Hanging cabinet door fell off when we opened it, the room is very small. There is only 1 room with kitchen, bedroom and a TV. Not worth the money at all.
Michael is so hospitable, the food is delicious, and the view is breathtaking. We will definitely come again!
Will definitely return.
