Just curious, I saw pots in the grocery cupboard, no stove to use them on, not that this was a problem, I used the microwave for my needs. Furnishings in the room spotless, immaculately kept gardens, no traffic noise at all, quiet and peaceful surroundings.

The reception was pleasant and the room very nice. There were already towels on the floors upon arrival to catch water from roof leaks. Then Kathu got the 171 mm of rain in one night and we started swimming shallowly in the room. Despite our efforts to catch all the leaks, even one of the beds was wet. I felt sorry for the owner about the damage and because no one would be able to do repairs on the roof in this rain. The owner offered us a free night after we left and I called her. The rooms were spacious enough and the kitchen had everything we needed. Parking under roof in front of our room was good! The bathroom only has a shower and toilet. The sink is in the room with the double bed and so I had to enter my friend's space to wash my hands as I was sleeping in the other room. I would stay here again! Kathu doesn't get that much rain every day! Getting out of town the next morning was not easy. Trees fell and streams of water in the roads were indicative of the storm. So one forgives and knows you witnessed an extraordinary night on Kathu.

I can only speak highly of Eagles Rest. We had to quickly find a place to sleep for the evening and we could only arrive there late (around 12 o'clock). Very nice stay and very friendly welcome. Unfortunately, the unit is advertised and photos show a separate bedroom, but the separate room was not unlocked for us, so it is only one large living area with beds.
Eagles Rest is an affordable overnight stop with all the amenities to make it unforgettable. We appreciate all help during the power outage that disrupted the entire Kathu. Care has been taken for emergency lights. The power arrived at 10 o'clock at night and then the air conditioner could do its job in the hot Kathu. Unfortunately the fridge did not work. Furthermore, everything was neat and clean. This is the second time we have stayed here and will definitely do so again. They gave us a discount for the inconvenience.

My best part: my fiancé is a fairly large man. He went into the bathroom, and when he came out he said that he was not happy with the place because he would never fit in that shower, I just have to go and see. Walk into the bathroom, see only the wall and the small entrance and I'm startled, because the rest of the shower is probably that size too. And when I looked around the wall - it was probably the nicest shower he had in years, because that shower is a good 1.5mx1.5m in size, so needless to say, we had a good time.
We immediately felt very much at home at Eagles Rest and greatly appreciated the friendliness and hospitality after a long journey. The beautiful camel thorn tree and braai area at the back of the garden are so unique to Kathu and contribute to the very relaxed atmosphere at the guest house. The place is clean and tidy and I would recommend the affordable accommodation to my friends anytime.

The room was very neat and nicely appointed. The bathroom was lovely. I wouldn't recommend it for self-catering for more than one night. The work spaces in the kitchen is really high and not suitable for the peparation of food. I also recommend providing tea spoons and sharp knives in the bedrooms.
