77 guests' feedbackThe then yard was ideal for our dogs who could also frolic on the beach. Cooking in the duplex was some of the best. However, the corner braai place inside is not a plus. Smoky and not practical. It's very cramped in the kitchen and master bedroom. But for the price I would love to visit again.

Very nice, quiet and peaceful destination where we spent quality time together as a family. Nice swimming beaches and many other nearby tourist attractions make it a great holiday destination. The unit is neat, clean and offers everything you need. The direct access to the beach is very nice.
It was difficult to get hold of the Landlady.
The accommodation was well worth it, considering the price. There is easy access to the beach and most of the time it felt like we had our own private beach as it was extremely quiet. Our hosts were extremely friendly and helpful. There is one point of criticism though - Wi-Fi access was advertised and although it was available, the signal was so weak that we were unable to connect. In summary, it was a most enjoyable stay and we'll recommend them to our friends any day. We also intend returning there in future.

We stayed in one of the duplex units and it was very nice. The private access to the beach was a big bonus. The cottage had everything we needed. The hostess was also very friendly and helpful. Will definitely recommend the place to others.

We were a family of 7 adults and 7 children, occupying 3 flatlets. We had everything that could be required to make this feel like home. The children aged from 4 to 9 had a great time with a freedom and plenty of space. One request Christine, please supply towels made from towelling. I know these are more expensive and less economical, but the alternatives supplied are great for camping and a quick swab like drying.
Our welcome was warm and friendly which was a good start to our stay. The accommodation (we had the simplex and one duplex for our group) was well equipped. The access to the beach was fantastic and the deck on the sand dune with the views was phenomenal! The only suggestion that I have is to provide more towels. We had 2 towels in a 6-sleeper unit. If you are a cat lover, ask to meet the Maine Coons ─ they are beautiful!

Unexpected power outages by Escom, with power down for up to 6 hours at a time, put a damper on accommodation. Apart from 4 crooked candles in the cupboard, no inquiries were made or any help offered in relation to hot water bottle or a gas cooker. Bed linen clean, but some could be replaced. Since the gate to the beach is not locked and access to the premises is easy, the absence of burglar bars is a concern. Well good option for the non-picky vacationer.
It was one of my best vacations ever. It's comfortable, close to the sea, fantastic beach, good fishing area and lots to do in the area. Have already recommended it to many people.

Unfortunately the access to the sea has been washed away, but this is something caused by nature in which the landlord cannot help. The personal attention and the little things like hand soap, toilet cleaner, deodorant, tea, coffee, sugar, etc., are things that people notice and appreciate. I would like to suggest that they look at the possibility of a handrail at the kitchen stairs as well as the last two stairs from the upper bedroom. People like me who are getting old and unsteady on our feet can possibly fall here. Steak knives and event tables are just a suggestion. And of course the bath sheets! Oh, did we enjoy it. You never get anything like that at holiday accommodation.

Was nice, just a pity we were not informed in advance that we could not get directly to the beach from day 5 of our holiday due to construction. But other than that it was very nice.
Nobody there to welcome us. We asked for WiFi code and hairdryer, but no reaction. Photos online must be rather old. The property is in urgent need of revamp. The bathroom downstairs is in a bad state. Their selling point is direct access to sea but as it is not possible, should be removed from website. Eagle's Rest on Sea is not a beachfront property, access to sea is via a pan handle. Owners spoke to us once briefly on their way up the stairs. The only positive thing we can say is that on request our daughter was allowed a short visit with her 2 dogs. The dogs behaved well and stayed on the veranda and in the garden.
Value for money, neat, comfortable, beach just a step over the dune, central to George and Knysna. The Wilkens used their holes! Thank you Christine and Marius.

Wow... that is all I can say. Christine and her husband are fantastic and accommodating people. The unit is amazing and spacious and we loved every second there. We travel to Sedgefield a lot and we would definitely recommend them and make use of them all the time. Such lovely people!
The accommodation was wonderful, residential units are fully equipped and facilities are very neat and clean. It is definitely affordable and value for money. We like the quiet and peaceful environment and enjoy walking long distances on the open beach and seeing how friendly residents and their dogs also enjoy the sea and beach. It is the perfect location for a peaceful seaside holiday, beautiful sunsets and beautiful scenery. This is the third time we have stayed here and can recommend it with the utmost confidence.
My only headache was that the toilet paper ran out and I had to go and ask to be helped out. Just include it in your rules for next guests to provide for toilet paper ahead of time. The accommodation is beautiful. The facilities in the kitchen are really very well done and there was nothing lacking. Sufficient bedding available. I will definitely use the accommodation again in the future. We were 6 adults and a baby and the owner also went out of her way to have a camping cot at our disposal. Thank you very much for that, you are truly the best Christians.

The flat is very cramped (especially the bottom bedroom and kitchen), but the rush of the ocean and the road to the beach is a bonus.

Would have liked to be on the sunny side of the building as it was so cold while we were there, but despite the cold, it was lovely. There is a wooden braai on the enclosed porch, but we could not use it due to lack of time. The unit itself is beautifully clean, tidy, comfortable, well equipped, spacious and very safe. Thanks to our host and hostess. We will definitely return.

Everything was 100%. Much more than I expected. nice people very well maintained. Very neat. Cute path to the beach. Owner referred us to cute "local" places and markets.
We got apartment 2. I have to admit the kitchenette was quite a big adjustment, it's as wide as a hallway with a very narrow work space on one side. It was impossible for the two of us to work together in it. The en suite bedroom with the nice view has two single beds in it, where the lower room where the general bathroom is, has the double bed. It's not so much a complaint, but more something that I feel one should know. Especially if a couple wants to rent the place. I have to admit I feel apartment 2 is too nice for six people. "At a push" four people can stay in it, while we stayed there, new owners moved in and they plan to renovate the places nicely which is necessary But the main reason why we wanted to stay here was to have direct access to to have the beach and there Eagles Rest on Sea did not disappoint us, we could get up, make coffee and enjoy it on the beach and every evening we could end our day by sitting quietly with something to drink and the moonlight enjoying the waves, the little discomfort was totally worth it.

On arrival we had to see how light bulbs were changed and we were explained that a little renovation needed to be done soon. in one bathroom there were broken handles on top of the bathroom cabinet. The place was not cleaned. There were cobwebs in corners of doors and in the bathroom. The cupboard handles were loose and doors were loose. Only changed our towels once for clean towels for the whole week we stayed there. Not once did our bedding come to be changed. The oven's steel racks were covered with a dirty black powder. I found a snail in my closet. The hanging closet in the rooms smelled of a very strong chemical and we had to put our clothes in the hallway closet. We threw our fishing tackle in the outside bin and the outside bin was also not cleaned regularly and the smell was terrible. There was brown starter in our sugar bowl. One of our pillowcases had a dirty brown mark on it. If it wasn't for my boyfriend who happened to be standing outside and saw the man whose place it was and tried to strike up a conversation we wouldn't have seen him or his wife for the rest of the time we were there . Not once asked if everything was ok. I know it's a self-catering unit, but it doesn't mean that no customer service and professionalism should still be given. We were not even explained where to hand in the key on the day we were going home and had to find out ourselves where the box for the keys was. It was definitely not worth the money and terribly disappointed.
Our towels were only changed once during the 10 days we stayed, disgusting. We booked this place because it claimed to provide bedding and towels, but we had to ask for clean bedding. The dogs used our front garden for toilet purposes, where we were supposed to braai. It wasn't picked up frequently, leading to our unit always being full of flies and an unpleasant smell hanging in the air. The owner greeted my daughter while she was in the shower, the window being at eye level. We had no rest. I wouldn't recommend number 3 to anyone. Had I known beforehand about the situation with the owner above us, I wouldn't have booked this place.
Will definitely book again in June when we go to the Cape. The people are incredibly friendly and it's definitely value for money.
