We had a nice stay and were warmly received. House located on a beautiful farm, with beautiful buildings. Perfectly located, right next to N1 and would stay there again and recommend to friends and family.
Peaceful/rustig. When the dogs befriend you, then you know you're really welcome.
Beautiful little clean house for an overnight stay. 5 Km dirt road from the N1, ignore Google maps' indication. Christelle provided us with a fragrant dinner at R80 pp.
Very hospitable. We were able to bring our dog and the hostess froze a cooler full of meat for us.
We didn't concentrate well and ended up on a long detour, at least we enjoyed the surroundings. We were received very kindly and our hostess brought us boiling water for tea as there was load shedding. We would like to visit there again, but will then spend 2 nights.
Eitel is fantastic! When we have time, we would love to spend a few days longer there.

Eittel is a particularly peaceful place to stay. There are kilometers to be walked and exceptional "bird" life. The buildings are beautiful sandstone and a few days' stay will not spoil anything.
The guest house is on a ground road and more easily accessible in a higher ground clearance vehicle.
The house is very cute on one side with a braai area. We ordered dinner for R75 pp and it was delicious. We traveled with a Nissan Xtrail so the road was very easy, but if you come with a flat car it might not work. There is another way into the farm, so it may require better work beforehand.
East Free State's Sandsteen, but only 5 km from the N1. Compact place to stay especially suitable if you are driving down South - the entrance is right on the N1.

If you want to recharge your battery from city life, this is the place to do it. The self-catering unit is situated on a nice piece of land.

I only stayed 1 night on my way to the wildlife park. but definitely would have liked to stay longer. Neat, well located and with everything you need. Lovely views of the farm and lots of hospitality. The owner served me a delicious dinner that I ordered from her in advance - very convenient if you travel. Thank you very much for all your efforts! Definitely recommend.
The buildings take you back in history, but the facilities are completely sufficient to relax and rest. No city bustle, private and safe. I would like to stay there longer than a night.

Quick overnight stop. Very comfortable once we found the turnoff in the dark. Directions from the website could be more specific about where to turn.

Very comfortable, no nonsense accommodation. Facilities is very clean and sufficient for a relaxing overnight stay. It is quiet, safe and close to the highway.
We arrived after dark after a very, very long drive and we received a very warm welcome from Christelle and her husband. The cottage was warm and comfortable and the bed very comfortable. A delicious chicken pie and vegetables was delivered to us by Christelle and her delightful daughters and it was just what two hungry people needed! Our two little dogs were welcome too. I would highly recommend Eittel and would definitely stay there again.
My colleague and I were on our way from Pretoria to Stellenbosch for a work trip and stayed at Eitttel for one night. We had a friendly reception and the accommodation was very neat and well-equipped. The farm atmosphere was lovely. We didn't spend much time there but it was a pleasant experience and I will definitely recommend the place.
Beautiful farm. The heaters and electric blankets were already switched on when we arrived. A couple with one you child shold find the lower level comfy. Teenagers can stay in the loft. Little children won't be able to sleep upstairs, the stairs are steep. For us as a family it was ideal and we got some great sleep. The farm road is in a good condition - just a bit difficult for a vehicle with low ground clearance.
Do not trust Google Maps to get you there, the sign is on the main road.
Beautiful house on a farmyard with all the necessary facilities for an overnight stay or a visit. Friendly reception by Christelle and Charl. We could have a nice barbecue and there are endless options for mountain biking on the long flat Free State farm roads.
Clean and tidy. Could only have drying rack and dish towels in kitchen.
The cottage is excellently furnished and it was nice to stay there. Charl's hospitality is also much appreciated. Many thanks for the extra effort he put in. He will know what we are talking about.

Far from noise, just lovely farm sounds. The breakfast was delicious.
The beautiful house is well furnished with everything you need. Good beds with bedding, a kitchen where you can make your own food, comfortable bathroom with a shower, and the biscuits are delicious.
We were 2 adults and 3 teenagers who wanted to sleep over between Bredasdorp and Hazyview. Very friendly host and hostess and incredibly beautiful view over the Free State plain. I can definitely recommend Eittel Cottage.
Eittel Cottage exceeded all our expectations. The cottage is very comfortable, the location is beautiful and a good stopover between Cape Town and Johannesburg. Our hosts Christelle and Charl (and Ben!) made us feel very welcome. We will be back!
