Tranquil and safe. Staff extremely efficient and friendly.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. I used to come here as a child and it still had the same magical feel to it. Very friendly and helpful staff. I must be honest though, Elands Valley Guest Farm is in need of a bit of maintenance. However, the biggest thing for me was the fishing. I was there for four days and didn't even see one fish rise. The dams have not been properly stocked in a long time and are all in need of some serious maintenance. Far too many reeds and weeds in and around the dams and this made for some unpleasant fishing. The records kept about the fish stocked and caught from each dam were also poor and very outdated.
If you are used to the city's noise and hustle and bustle, Elandsvallei guest farm is an experience. The silence with only nature and farm sounds makes it a time of rest and recovery. Evenings around the fire, with foxes calling and a shy diver coming to visit, make beautiful memories that we could take with us. We stayed in Strawberry Field and were surrounded by farm animals, goats, sheep, pigs, chickens, and cattle, but not once was there an unpleasant smell; everything is kept exceptionally clean. The only negatives are that the shower is too small for a farm boy, and the bed is a double bed, not a queen size. The staff were excellent. Never had such a clean grill every night at other places.
We were there off season, no other guests, as we prefer. Very quiet, which we prefer. Only the dams need attention, you can't get to the water at all - lots of water grass and reeds around. Even got a home baked bun from the staff.

Absolutely fantastic. We and our children really enjoyed the Flufftail house. The cottage has everything and more than one could need. There is so much character in the cottage. Our children also really enjoyed the treehouse. The team welcomed us very kindly and helped unload upon arrival. On day two we were given a freshly baked bun that spelled hospitality at its best. There is a wonderful team that cleans the cottage and supplies new wood every day. I haven't experienced such hospitality in a long time. Beautiful location!
The farm is located in a very beautiful valley about 10 minutes before Dullstroom (from Belfast's direction). The unit we stayed in is very romantic and it looks like the other units will be the same. Many facilities on the farm and in the unit. The service was excellent and the workers even baked us some bread at home which was a nice surprise.
Very beautiful scenery, gardens, animal life and safety were fantastic. Would like to see more trout in the ponds.
Nice place. Will definitely go again. Friendly people. Good service. Only negative was that the bathtub was full of cracks and had broken places in which we had to bathe.
The road to the place is challenging especially when it is raining.

Once we arrived we were greeted by not just 1 but 3 staff who helped us unpack our car, took us less than 10 minutes. The unit we stayed in (Strawberry Fields) was quaint and very tidily kept. On the second day we received complimentary freshly baked bread which was delicious! The views were wonderful of the surrounding hills and valleys with their naturally occurring streams that fed into each of the dams on the property. Caught lots of trout and grass carp and had a splendid time overall!
The Flufftail Cottage we stayed in was full of character and very well equipped. The large fireplace was great and the whole house has a very cozy feel with a beautiful view! The staff is very friendly and helpful. We received the most delicious freshly baked bread on our first morning. The fireplace was nicely cleaned and repacked for us. Will definitely go again.
Strawberry fields is the most precious little gem. All the farm animals are in a beautiful condition. The staff are absolutely friendly and very helpful.
It was a wonderful experience in silence! Nice walk in the mountain and full of birdlife! Nice baked bun and friendly service. 4x4 fortunately not needed. DStv dish hides behind leaves, interferes with satellite reception.
The weather was just too cool and it rained, so we couldn't do many of the activities outside that they have there for the children. And then maybe they can upgrade the activities more and bring in more activities. The sandpit was dirty and the treehouse stairs are scary to use, even for us as parents. The service was great though.
Ons was ongeveer tien jaar gelede in Elands Valley. Ons was aangenaam verras om terug te wees en te sien dat die plek steeds dieselfde gesellige, lieflike plek is as destyds. Nog beter, as die personeel ons onthou en ons terug verwelkom het met 'n vars brood! Mal oor Elands Valley!
Quiet, neat, and just nice! Will come again anytime.
